Christmas cropping!

Last Saturday was our Christmas crop and instead of the usual kits, the ladies get a challenge kit.  With no instructions to follow, we end up with a great variety of pages and it's always interesting to see that the same kit can lead to so many different creations!  The kit contained Carta Bella Christmas Day papers with some holly ribbon, Dusty Attic chipboard, and various other embellishments.

So I thought I'd share a few with you.  My apologies that I can't remember who all the layouts belong to!

And a few that just need photos to finish them off..

We had a great day, and if anyone would like to join us cropping in 2013, just drop us an email!  We would love to see you :)

More October Afternoon goodness

Hope your December is panning out nicely and is not like mine a whole heap of chaos that will eventually be Christmas!
I am here to share with you another layout that I created with the October Afternoon Midway collection
I decided to stick with the same sketch that I used in this post, and this time I stayed more true to the sketch

My daughter took these fun pictures of me "doing my bit" for Movember (you can read more about Movember here)
I flipped the sketch on its side and then punched out small triangles from this piece of paper. I arranged them across the top to create a banner.
I then stitched across the top of them, do you see how I flipped a couple for a fun element to the banner
I added some of the stickers to create some sub titles here and there.
The arrows on the photos were punched out of the balloons and darts sheet
and help to focus your eyes back to the pictures
I love how this range has so many posibilities!
All supplies can be found in the shop

It is time for me to say goodbye...

When I heard that there was going to be a scrapbooking shop opening within driving distance from say I was happy was the understatement of the year.

I went down to Papermaze on the day that it fact my sister and I were there before she had opened the door.

I went back two days later and then a few days later and then over the next few months I was there more and more. After a while Vanessa asked me if I would mind designing some pages to put around the shop walls.

After that we came together and started up the blog and then came the design team...I then became the design team co ordinator...and then ran the workshops.

I have been part of Papermaze for many many years...I have enjoyed many days of putting together kits, sorting out design team supplies, looking through the new boxes and picking out the supplies I wanted before Vanessa had even had a chance to look!... going down there just for a chat and a cup of hot chocolate. I was there when it was thick snow and all the workshop girlies braved the country roads just to get together to scrap and eat chocolate. I have been to the Christmas work dos and had lunch in Vanessa's farm kitchen and cried when I got there to see the damage that the fire did.

But as most of you know, I have bad hands...I have had carpel tunnel in both of my hands for years now and the time has come where I have to do something about it. I am due to have an operation in the next few months on one of them....and looking at having my other hand done next year.

It has become apparent that doing this much scrapbooking and computer work has to after lots of thinking and upset I have decided to step down from the Papermaze design team.

I have enjoyed being part of the venture so much and I am going to miss it.

I hand the reins over to Lou...she works at the shop, designs for us, puts the kits together and she makes the most beautiful pages you have ever seen. Her email is now on the side bar if you want to ask her a question.

I am still here...I don't 'officially go anywhere till the end of December.... I still have a few posts that have still to be posted over the next few I will be here for a little longer.
I have worked with some amazing designers over the past few years and I look forward to seeing what the girls have in store for you over the next year.

I want to thank Vanessa, for believing in me, making me smile and laugh and making this job so much fun... Wendy xxx

More October Afternoon?

The other October Afternoon line that came into the shop the other day...was the new Farm Girl line....I only picked up the papers for this line ( as I may have taken far too much of the Christmas line ha!) But they were enough...I have had these photos of my son for ages...but not used them.

I wanted to use them in colour and not black and white as I really wanted the colour of the trees to show up as they were so beautiful....the yellow in this line was just perfect for them...( is is really sad that I got really excited about this?) is the page that I made using this line...

I loved the blue and the yellow on this page but the flower paper just added this little pop at another colour.

You can find the new October afternoon in the New products section here.

email and give us your address and we will get the December kit sent out to you x

I am not really a 'theme' scrapper...But this year I have done more than my normal amount of Christmas pages and cards.

One of the lines that I was looking forward to arriving at the shop was the new October Afternoon Christmas is really hard to tell if you are going to like something just by looking at it on a computer screen so I normally wait for it to arrive or I go by the samples or pages that I find on the internet.

This was one that I was sitting on the fence on...I was just not wowed by it when I saw it on the internet so I was interested to see it in real life......I SHOULD NEVER HAVE WORRIED!!!

This line is adorable...I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it in real life. So I grabbed as much of it as Vanessa would let me take ha!...bought it home and just had fun.

Here is what I made using  it....It is about my sons realisation earlier on this year about Father Christmas....I knew this was a real mile stone for him and the day that Christmas changed for ever....though he took the knowledge very well.

I used the matching letter stickers on this page and the new wood grain Mini Market stickers that match the other new line called Farm Girl....I also picked up some of these...

though there are many more them in the other colours that would match perfectly! This was the first time I had used these types of thickers and now I am going back for more!!!!

I have made a page using the Farm Girl line so pop back in a few days to see that.

2nd card....

Hi all...

first off I have to remind you that we are having an advent challenge over at our page on dont forget to pop on over and check it out...

Also the blog hop is still open on the post below so check that out as well!!

I had the chance to play with the December kit this month....After thinking about what I wanted to make, I chose some cards....I showed you one of them during the blog is the second one...

I really wanted to use that linen heart I started with it and went from there...I used two circles of pattern paper to make the snowman...I did add some vellum and one of my own christmas stamp to make the sentiment...

I wanted to make it into a real card so I added some paper on the back...

which opens up at the back...

See you soon for another card!
