New Masks Coming Soon!!!

This could quite possibly be one of the happiest times of my whole crafting life, so I am thrilled to announce that very soon there will be some new masks available on the Papermaze website. These have been exclusively designed by myself :-)

There will be three designs to begin with, but more are being designed as we speak.

Here is a page I have created using two of the masks...

The first mask (and possibly my favourite!) was inspired by a class I taught at Papermaze at the end of last year. Two of the techniques we used were dripping paints, and splatting ink dabbers. The results the ladies were getting were all varied and some were not entirely happy with their results. I have to admit that being arty is a bit unpredictable!
So I designed this mask with an ink splat and a long paint dripped design. No more hoping they come out well!

My next mask design is another technique I taught which can get a tad messy. The coffee cup stain. Some people try finding something round to print with, some, like me, would cut a circle of card and ink around it, but here with the mask you can be sure to get the perfect circle and markings.

The third mask is a reversed brickwork mask, ie. just the cement between the bricks, It was requested that I designed this one as another that used to be available is now discontinued. I have another project to show you soon using this mask.

So keep an eye on the website for these coming very soon!

Sketch Time

I've got a sketch and some of the pretty Basic Grey Lucille collection to share with you today
Basic Grey were some of the very first papers that I used when I first started scrapping and are like a trusty friend, this collection has a dressmaker theme to it and of course that can be adapted to lots of different occasions. I chose this baby photo in black and white that I think fits really well.
I also used some washi tape by October afternoon that matches these papers perfectly with the peachy oranges, along with some wooden embellishments that are very trendy right now

I chose a fairly plain sketch, drawing out the main elements and adding my own touch
If you choose to play along with this months sketch please share your creations and leave us a link in the comments we would love to see!

I chose to use these three sheets of the Lucille collection using both the front and the backsides

Project Life / Sn@p

Are you a Project Lifer? I am not but I love Simple Stories...so I was a bit disappointed when they bought out a bright line (love my bright colours) but it was geared that way and the patterned paper was as such that I couldn’t see how I could use it as a scrapbooking page line.
But I am not to be defeated easily...so I sat in the shop for ages and walked around and looked at other stuff to match it up with. I loved their stickers and a few sheets of paper but I needed something else to match it with to make it useable.
Then I came across the line from October Afternoon called Midway and bang! I had something to match with with...so with a few sheets from that, the stickers that I loved from the project life line and a few other bits and pieces and I had something to work with.

I did notice that a lot of the companies from this CHA are bringing out lines for project life...so instead of just dismissing these lines ( as I think some of them are gorgeous!) I am going to experiment and see what I can use them with.

final Jan kit inspiration

This months kit was so jam packed that when I came to making my final project I found I had some of the lovely cardstock left over
I decided to make full use of my new sillhouette cameo and used this adorable "owl box" cut file
I made up the box and then made some matching thankyou notelets to go inside.
after you have used the notelets you have a cute box to put a gift in
A great way to use the card stock and the scraps from your kit.
I really loved this months kit and I know you will love yours too!

More Jan Kit

*** Due to adverse weather conditions, and problems with the village hall heating system, we have decided to cancel tomorrow's crop. We are very sorry - please spread the word ***
I'm here to share with you another layout with the Jan Kit
This time I pulled out the bolder colours in the papers.
Once again I went for the white background and the kit came with this beautiful ribbed card stock, that I couldn't wait to use.
The MME stickers were a perfect match to the American Crafts papers
I the large doily one up and used behind my picture
On my last layout I inked the hearts but they are also so gorgeous as they are so I left them plain on this one.
I love how the word stickers look poking out of various parts and I also used some to read "and so are you" under the picture
A full list of all supplies can be found on this post
Thankyou for looking!

Jan Kit layout inspiration

Happy New Year to everyone
I got to work with the adorable January kit this time, it is so full of gorgeous goodies you just have to get one to play with.
I have created a few things with it and first up is this layout
I just loved the chipboard hearts that can be misted or inked. I inked this one using distress ink and when you are done it reveals a beautifully embossed pattern.
I love how delicate the papers look on a white card stock background and I even used the label from the sticker sheet as part of my title!
The full contents of the kit can be found in this post here.
Back soon to share more projects using this fab kit

Crate Paper Fourteen

With Christmas all over and done with, the next date to mark down on the calendar will be Valentines Day. So its no surprise that already Papermaze are stocking plenty of different Valentines Themed lines, my favourite being the Crate Paper 'Fourteen'
Usually I would create a pretty pink/red lovey dovey page as inspiration using these new products, but today I decided id like to show you that they do not have to be used in the conventional way, and they can even be masculine!

'5 Weeks'

This layout was created using the grey paper 'Feburary' as the base. With a monotone photo it tied in perfectly.

I also took the 'Be Mine' paper and using a sharp craft knife, I carefully cut out the coloured heart centres, leaving me with a 'mesh' of hearts.

Here are the products I used, and you can find the whole line HERE

Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic

Whatever your preferred style, I'm sure you will love the range of Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic we have in store! Besides loads of neutral prints, there are pinks, teals, browns, yellows and blues thrown in, including the very popular right now, chevron print.
Here I have used some of this line to create two pages to show you. All the papers and embellishments coordinated together perfectly, and I added some of the Queen & Co Trendy Tape we have in at the moment.
I hope you will take a look at this line in store, and don't forget to check out the tags, labels, word stickers, banners and mini instaframes that all coordinate with the papers.
