It's time for...
... our annual Easter Egg hunt! We know how much you enjoy doing this, so here we are again, ready to hide an egg in our store, every day until Easter! For those of you who are new to this - or who may need reminding how it works, let me explain a bit more.
Every day for the next week I will give you a clue on the blog. All you have to do is work out the answer and find the egg on the website :) Make a note of the manufacturer and product, then once you have all seven answers you can email them to me (details on Sunday). And, of course, there is a prize to be had! This year we'll be giving away a £25 gift voucher to one lucky person (whose name will be drawn at random!) - AND we'll also be giving away three 6x6 pads to three runners up (one pad each!) .
So, without further ado, here's our first clue:
Zeus punished which Titan by making him carry the world on his back?
Work out the answer, and jump over to the website to find the egg! Keep a note of the answer, and remember to drop by tomorrow for the next clue!
Good luck!

Our Story - Mini Book
Hello, it's Lisa here with you today sharing a new mini book.
I am absolutely loving the new My Minds Eye collection. Collectable.
When I saw this journal paper I knew I would be making a mini book with them.
- My Minds Eye - Collectable Memorable - Journey Journal
I made this little book.
Here's how.
First you need a 12x12 piece of cardstock.
I chose Vanilla. You need to divide it in to 3 and cut across giving you 3 strips and then score it down equally so you end up with this.
And then you stick the ends together, I use doublesided tape. You will then have one long piece.
Then it's time to decorate.
I used the following papers from the same My Minds Eye collection.
Story Tale, Today Remember and Firsts Fresh from Unforgettable.
I alternated the papers for a colourful look and used the journal cards from the first paper I showed.
I haven't gone over the top with the embellishing. For me personally the papers are so beautiful and colourful, I didn't think it needed it. I did use a flower punch and a small heart punch though.
My Minds Eye have these cute 'Enamel Dots' that are sticky backed that match the colours of the collections. They make perfect little flower centres.
And there are a few little Word Sticker Sheets to match too. I used this one here, but there are some more here too.
I've left some blank pages without a journal card so a photo can be added.
I needed something to tie the book together to keep it neat so added some ribbon.
I made a hole on each end piece of card halfway up so I could ties the ribbon through.
You can see here that the ribbon has been cut so that one piece is short and then the long piece is pulled around the back to tie up. In the photo above you can see the ribbon is secured behind the journal card and below it runs under the title of the book on the front cover. I have added a little glue to hold the short piece in place.
I used the Story Title Card for my front cover.
There are lots of different ones to choose from here.
And here is the finished book again.
It makes me feel so summery looking at this : )
I hope you love this little book.
I had so much fun making it.

Dylusions ink sprays
Have you seen the new Dylusion ink sprays in the shop? the colours are FABand the names even better!! this time there is a great white ink available. This ink has a "ball" in the bottle and you must shake the bottle well before using in order to activate the colour.
Here I have taken three tags and spritzed with the inks and then whilst still wet I've spritzed them with the white....can you see how the colours have lightened and marbled?
can you see how vibrant those colours are?
Taking the tag on the far right, I've created this:-
I've stamped using the dylusions stamps and then added colour and doodled around the border before adding text and some ribbon with a charm...

what to do with...
its Carol here today and after reading some of the comments on a previous post I decided to share with you what I do with those pieces of paper in paperpads that aren't quite "my thing"...
Here I've used a piece of 6x6 paper that was green and white and a pattern that really wasn't me.... (I totally forgot to photograph it "raw" but if you look carefully you can see the green page with white design)
adding other products and using my tools to hand I turned it into:-
firstly I applied distress ink thro' a stencil...then using another stencil added white acryllic paint....using a pipette and spray ink - dribbled ink across the top of the page - hold the page at a slant to create "runs" and puddles. Using some rubber stamps I then randomly stamped onto the page and whilst still wet added some gold embossing powder, flicking off from the back to give an aged look when heat embossed....
so, what to do with this background page...
I cut the page to the size of my card blank and added pieces of tape, lace and ribbon and using various pens and paints have outlined the page and the other elements.
The face is a stamped image coloured in with water colour pencils.
Et voila! a card from totally "outgrown" items - mixing old with the new...
TFL
Just a reminder that we are holding an introduction to art journalling course on Saturday, 9th March, 10am to 4pm - we will be creating pieces along these lines:-
so if you fancy having a go and getting very inky and painty contact the shop to book your place.

I said I never would....
....start 'PROJECT LIFE'.
And here I am about to show my first page.
So what has changed my mind???
Product.
I love all the little note/journal cards that so many manufacturers have now. I keep buying them, but there's only so many you can use on scrapbook pages.
Instagram.
I recently started instagramming and I'm loving it.
I don't have an iphone, but I did treat myself to an ipad mini whilst in the States earlier this year and I've bene using that to take random snaps of everyday life.
My Mindset.
If I'm really honest, my main reason for not wanting to get in to PL, is fear.
Fear of that commitment.
Fear that it would be another project that I would start and not finish. (I've never even finished a December Daily!!)
And that fear of starting something and feeling the pressure to keep up.
So I'm going at my own pace and doing it my own way.
I started at the weekend by placing a small order here at Papermaze.
I don't want to spend loads and then not continue. I don't even have an album yet.
But I bought some up these 12x12 page protectors to get me started. And I'll see how I go.
I popped some of the My Minds Eye 'Collectable' in to my basket. It's a new collection and so beautiful. I love th range of colours. MME is always a fave of mine.
These 12x12 sheets are just perfect to cut up.
Day Daily
Story Journal
Journey Journal
And I've sat down for a short while this afternoon and put my first page together.
I also bought some of the journal cards from MME that are just 60p each. You can view them here.
I love these little cards and they make journaling so easy.
I've kept it really basic. For me it's about telling our family stories.
So I've made a start, lets see how it goes.
I'd love to hear who else is doing PL and if like me you thought you never would but are now wondering about giving it a go.
