A Simple Pocket Page...

Hi, it's Anna here. This month I have been working with the Websters Pages Hall Pass collection. I got to work quickly as I knew I wanted to make a simple pocket page for the end of my 2013 year book. At the end of each year I make a pocket page to hold all of the bits and pieces that I have collected over the year. This could be leaflets or tickets or more precious items such as my son's certificates, special cards or postcards etc.

Making a pocket page is simple. Start by choosing a piece of patterned paper, I like to go with something quite plain and cut it just over half way. Next, score about 1-2cm around the bottom and side edges, fold these edges and attach to cardstock or another sheet of patterned paper using strong glue.

I then decorate the front of the pocket using photographs, embellishments and/or a title etc. I have used a small simple stories 'Snap Pocket' on my large pocket to add some smaller tickets. You can find a selection of 'snap pockets' here.

You can make these pages as simple or more creative as you wish, but they are great for storing all of your keepsakes.

life moments

this page has been created by using kaisercraft shine bright 6.5x6.5 paper pad.
I started with a black and white 6x4 photo which I cut down to 4x4. distressed the edges of the photo with a file and mounted on to black card stock.
With my white card I used pencil and ruler to create a grid like pattern. When happy with my grid sprayed some yellow glimmer mist to my page and when it was dry went over my pencil lines
with a fine  black sharpie.

The background was created by using various stamps and  an archival black ink pad. I then cut some of the chevrons and circles from the pattern paper. Placed my script transparency over my misted area and then added my photo and paper elements on top.

Project Life with Simple Stories

Hi, It's Lisa here with you today.

I have a Simple Stories Project Life page to share with you today.
I'm playing catch up.

I've used the Hugs & Kisses collection.
It's not dedicated to Project Life, but that what I love about it. The papers are so well designed so that you can enjoy making LO's, cards, the mini book I shared with you last week and now this PL page.
I love the flexibility and that suits me perfectly.

I've cut up various pieces of the patterned papers, piecing them together.
I've added some doodling here and there.

I've also used some of the matching stickers that you can find here.
I love these stickers sheets.

The page protectors that I use are also from Simple Stories.
You can find them here.

For me Project Life is about telling our day to day stories and having fun with my scraps of paper.
This is why I love it so much.

Thanks for stopping by today.

masking it..

Hi, Carol with you today.. sharing with you this easy way to mask and create a flat card that looks dimensional……

Taking my 5" x 7" white card blank I stamped the single flower image from the Paperartsy stamp plate JOFY26 using black versafine ink and then coloured it in using Prima's water colour pencils, the set used here was the scenic route…   then the fun begins, there are lots of masking techniques out there, but, this one is so simple its fail proof…so, I begin by taking one of the sticky post-its you get in a stationers…I stamp my image making sure as much of my stamp is on the other side of the gummed strip and cut it out and adhere this over your coloured image…. I then use the full pos-its to mask off an area…

Colour was added using Pumice stone distress ink and a blending tool once complete I splashed some water and then stamped with a text stamp and black versafine ink - I used an old prima stamp, but, there is a great script stamp out at the moment see (here)

This is the finished result before the post-its were removed.

and this is the finished image with them removed…

More fun with 'A Perfect Autumn'...

While on Pinterest recently I came across this fantastic Disney themed pumpkin layout. Take a look at the original design here. I knew that I wanted to create my own version and my current lot of stash from Papermaze the 'A Perfect Autumn' collection by Carta Bella would be perfect to use!
After looking in to the original layout it seemed to be a digital layout, so I created my own template on a scrap piece of paper using the original design for guidance. I then cut out each piece and drew around them on my photos and patterned paper.

I used a spellbinders die to create the leaves and vines on the pumpkin and added some flowers, leaves and butterfly's around the page.

Here are some close ups..

Thanks for looking, I hope this inspires you to scraplift your own project.
I'll be back soon with a project life page using the 'Perfect Autumn' collection.

project life Bo Bunny

Using the rest of the Star Crossed Bo Bunny patterned papers I created a project life page.
Most of us have many pictures of one event or happy time,  and PL sleeves allow me to use up the 12x12 papers I have left from the collection. I have fussy cut elements I like from the papers which I have added to each 10x15cm pocket, used wooden embellishments, splatted white dylusions ink and ink distressed my edges

finally I have stamped a quote "Like campfires & marshmallows we're better together" This was done using the lawn fawn clear alphabet stamps.

Do you have a Happy Place?

Today I am scrapping my happy place.
Disney.
This is where I'm at my happiest.
I feel carefree and like a child again.

The Say Cheese 11 collection - Simple Stories (as I've mentioned here before) is my favourite.
But don't be put off if you aren't a Disney fan.
My LO today isn't a full on 'in your face Disney' page. You could also scrap about your happy place.

Here is mine.

I took this elements paper here and cut a few of the pieces out using a corner punch on the corners.
I've layered them to create a base for my happy photo : )

I also used a small circle punch on one of the pieces.
If you don't own a small circle punch by the way, I recommend them. I use mine all the time to add little accents to my pages. It's a great way to use up your paper scraps.

I also used the Wood Veneers from the same 'Say Cheese 11' collection here.
I love adding wood veneers to my pages. They add such good depth.

I coated mine with a Tim Holtz Distress Stain. You just wipe the sponge over the wood and it dries really fast. And then I added some Stickles over the top for some sparkle.
I added a few stars and hearts from the same wood veneer pack and repeated the same technique.

I printed my journaling on the printer and cut into strips.

That's it!!

So, why don't you have a go at scrapping your happy place.
Is it a holiday destination, your garden, your craft room????

Gelatos part 2

Hi, Carol with you today.

Whilst playing in my craft room, I wondered, as you do, if gelatos would react enough with water to drag a tag thro to create a colourful background - only one way to find out…so, I took three sticks of these wonderful colours and scribbled on my non stick craft mat and added water (I mixed these to make a paste) I then took a cream coloured tag and spritzed a little water onto it and then dragged it thro' the mix on my mat…the result is….

In some of the packs you get a blending tool, I used one of these to add extra colour to the edges and add some more colour into the empty patches….. this tool is really great and blends the colours really well and cleans easily too so that you don't get any colour contamination.

I then scribbled some colour onto my mat, added water and stencilled thro' an alphabet mask once the paint was dry I added black pen to the outline - this just adds a bit of definition to the background.  Using the same technique I added paint to stamps from Emma Godfrey 02 Paperartsy set and stamped onto the background.  Using versafine black ink I stamped the circles with text, "too funny" and "today" elements onto cream card, cut out and added edging using the blending tool and a brown gelato…  the main image is from Paperartsy EM14 - this was stamped onto cream cardstock and painted using the watered down gelatos, once dry glossy accents was added to his middle and his eyes….washi tape finished off my tag…

All products can be found in the shop….check out the great range of gelatos here

Love Tree

Today I am here to share with you another project I created with the fabulous March Kit available in the shop now.

When I saw this glass frame at The Range, it contained some thin paper photographs and it inspired me to want to decorate it myself.

Love Tree Tracee Provis Papermaze March kit

This was such a simple project to create, and lots of fun too.
I started with the Websters Pages sheet that is in the kit, using a cut file from my cameo I cut out the tree shape and the "Love" words.
I then cut the file out again using plain white cardstock and adhered that to the back of the frame. The woodgrain paper is sandwiched between the panes of glass.

Love Tree Tracee Provis Papermaze March kit 02

I took this close up picture outside so that you could see the silhouette of the tree better. I used random words from the sheet that was also included in the kit and that was it my project was finished.
Simple but effective I think.
If you havn't picked up yours yet just hop over to the shop , where you can also find everything for your scrapping needs.
