'Adventure' Scrapbook Layout - Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary Collection

Hello, Rebecca back again with another 12x12 layout created using the new Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Legendary' Collection.

I have used the 'One Way' patterned paper for this layout. I cut out two triangles and placed them either side of the page. I made sure to turn the paper before cutting the smaller triangle so that the arrows were all pointing towards my photos in the centre.

I love the different colours of the arrows on the paper and mounted my photos on Bazzill Cardstock in colours that co-ordinated well.

Next I added some stars from the Die Cut Ephemera Pack in a diagonal line across the page. I mounted these on foam dots to add dimension to the layout.

I added a couple more bits of ephemera to the top right corner. The 'Explore the Great Outdoors' piece actually had mountains and a sky scene at the top but I cut it in half and just used the bottom section. I also added the deer (stag?!) piece as in one of my photos my son is holding an animal skull. (We were doing an organised nature trail in the woods collecting fossils, bones and bugs!)

I added my title 'Adventure' from the Die Cut Titles pack, and then decided I wanted to add some borders as the deer/stag/animal head was made up of black lines. So I added a border to the page, the patterned paper and all of the stars to match.

I hope you've enjoyed this layout. I'm really enjoying working with this collection. It's not often a collection comes out that doesn't include pinks and flowers so it's perfect for me to scrap photos of my little boy!

A little Extra from the March Papermaze Kit

Hello All, Lynn here today, I had a fair amount left over from the March Papermaze kit and thought it would be good to try to create an extra layout. So in between my usual two posts, here is my additional layout.

This layout shows a photo taken in Washington last December, when we visited the  Smithsonian National Museum of American History. We saw this amazing exhibit - Dorothy's ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in the 1939 film of The Wizard of Oz. Several pairs of the slippers were mad for the movie. These are actually a mismatched pair. White pumps were covered with red fabric, painted red soles, sequins, bows made of stiff cotton and adorned beads and rhinestones. This pair has felt adhered to the bottom to muffle Garland's footsteps as she danced on the yellow brick road.

The base for this layout is the sheet of Simple Stories - So Happy Together collection - Time Together from the kit. Then using the Rainbow cut file by Paige Taylor Evans I cut the parts from white Bazzill. I used Distress Ink Pads to colour the pieces of the rainbow and the edges of the clouds. Then I die cut lettering - with red metallic card I cut the words 'Ruby Slippers' and from black and white Bazzill I cut the words 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'. 

I mounted my photo onto White and then Pear Bazzill. My journalling was printed in red onto white Bazzill, then I punched down one side with a spiral binding punch. Everything was arranged carefully on the page and then glued into place.

Finally I added two flowers from the kit.

Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl - Create

Hello Karen C here with one final layout using the Hey Crafty Girl Collection from Simple Stories.

I started with a sheet of white Bazzill cardstock and in the centre I painted a rough square with some aqua coloured acrylic paint.

I then cut a piece of the Crafty & Happy paper into strips and used various paper punches to punch the edges. The punched strips were then layered horizontally in the centre of the layout on top of the painted square.

My 6x4 photo was stuck to the right side of the layout with foam underneath to add dimension.

I made a tag using one of the 4x4 elements and some pink Bakers Twine and attached this to the left side of the layout overlapping the corner of the photo.

I fussy cut some flowers from the B side of the 4x4 elements paper and used these and one of the 2x2 elements  to embellish the layout.

A few sequins and sparkly star shaped enamel dots were scattered around the layout.

To finish the layout I doodled with a black gel pen around the edge of the layout and on some of the embelishments and added some small punched paper strips at the top and bottom of the page. The date was due cut from coordinating card stock.

'Happy Dude' - 12x12 Layout - Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary Collection

Hello, Rebecca back with you with my first layout this month and I've used the Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Legendary' Collection again.

I had so much fun creating this layout and just let loose and chucked loads at the page! I used the beautiful 'Wild One' patterned paper to border a sheet of white cardstock. I mounted three photos onto a single strip of white cardstock, and then mounted that onto black cardstock. I then used the Wild One paper to mount the whole thing on.

I used the large wood-effect frame from the Die Cut Ephemera Pack to frame the centre photo as it matched the wooden tunnel my son was crawling through perfectly. I added an arrow piece from the same pack on top of the frame, after spraying it green to match my son's coat using an Ink Spray.

I added several other pieces from the ephemera pack around my photos, and also added some frames from the Pinkfresh Studio 'My Favourite Story' Chipboard Stickers. I wrapped some thread around the two large open stars to add interest to the page.

I used one of the Flair Buttons on the bottom left hand corner of my photos which says 'Lets Go'.

I built a small cluster up in the top right corner of the page as it felt a little bare at the top of the page.

I finished the layout by adding my title 'Happy Dude' using the Die Cut Titles and some Nuvo Drops.

March Papermaze Kit

Merry Go Round - Amazing Adventure at Legoland - This page was designed using a photo of the girls on our first trip to Legoland back in 1997. 

I started by gutting the Lagoon Bazzill, then trimming the Create Beauty paper to 29.5cm x 29.5cm and mounting it over the Lagoon frame.

I mounted my photos onto Arryo Bazzill and arranged them onto the page. Then with pencil I drew a swirl onto the paper. Next came the fussy cutting of letters from the Truly Grateful #3 paper. Starting just below the photos I arranged the letters along my pencil curves, sticking them down lightly with re-positional tape. I stitched the letters into place with grey sewing thread and the sewing machine.

I finished by adding the puffy star stickers, the opals and one of the chipboard quote stickers, all from the kit. 

Terrific Trio - This layout features a photograph of a pencil drawing of the triplets, drawn by my father in 1995 when they were three years old. 

The base for this layout is the sheet of white Bazzill. I cut the Dreaming paper so I was left with a piece 9 blocks deep and 12 blocks wide - I arranged the cutting from the gold, through orange, red and darker pink blocks, reserving the pale pink blocks to use later.

I used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink to ink the edged of all the papers. I attached the large piece with the blocks towards the bottom of the Bazzill. I trimmed about 17 individual blocks and scattered them over the white area at the top of the layout. 

I mounted my photo onto some Arroyo Bazzill and attached it to the centre of the layout.

With some greyboard and the Sizzix Bottled Up Bigz die, I cut a selection of different size bottles. Some of these were treated with acrylic paint and some crackle glaze. Two of them were coated with embossing powders.

With the Sizzix Bigz Die - Branches and some scraps of brown Bazzill I cut a selection of branche,using pieces of them to fit into the bottles. I then punched and created some cherry blossom with the 3 in 1 Hydrangea punch from Martha Stewart. I arranged these on the branches. The bottles were placed either side of the photo, some flat onto the page and others raised up with 3D foam.  
 

I used another MS 3 in 1 punch to create some butterflies to scatter at the top of the page.
I added glitter to the butterflies to with Stickles. A spot of Nuvo Crystal Drops - Metallic Caramel Cream was added to the centre of each blossom.

My title was made with Pinkfresh Studio - Office Hours Puffy Alpha Stickers.

Simple Pleasures ...... Carta Bella 'Farmhouse Market'

Hello again,

 It's Anita here with you and I am sharing my first layout using the very pretty Farmhouse arket Collection from Carta Bella

In 2017 we went on a wonderful road trip around the UK to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary. The photo I have scrapped today is from my favourite day, when we visited WastWater in The Wasdale Valley....such an incredible place.

The layout is based on a sheet of  Lovely Floral
I drew round a tea plate in the centre of the sheet and then cut the circle out and removed carefully before later placing it on a sheet of Powder Blue Cardstock that I had cut down to 11" x 11", this allowed a pretty frame of the backing paper to show
I used an old brown inkpad and gently inked all the edges of every layer to give some definition.

I have been lucky enough to try the new Stickles Glitter Gel in Moon Dust. This really is lovely stuff!! And super sparkly!!
I used an old credit card to swipe the gel across the mini stencil ( Shabby Harlequin)
It settles with a lovely dimension and as it dries it sets a little lower in level...still remaining super sparkly and ultra pretty.

After the gel dried (helped by a heat gun ;) I cut some strips from a sheet  of Timeless Floral and using a Tim Holtz  rosette die I created a few rosettes to embellish the page and also added a couple of the Apricot Honey Grapefruit tart flowers by Prima

I used a saying strip across the bottom of the page, matted on olive cardstock.

One of the sheets,  Tags... is exactly that! Just tags!! So I cut a few out and threaded then together to hang across the top of the layout. I gently inked all the edges and added a few Crystal AB flat backed gems to finish it off.
I also cut a little panel from the sheet of 4 x 6 journalling cards and added a little info about our day out.

'So Fun' - Scrapbooking Layout - Cocoa Vanilla Studio Legendary Collection

Hello, Rebecca back with you again. I'm so excited to be working with the new Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Legendary' Collection this month and today I'm sharing my first 12x12 layout - 'So Fun'.

My favourite patterned paper from the collection has to be 'All Star'. As soon as I saw it I knew it had to be the first paper I used and straight away I knew what I wanted to do with it. I tore a section of the paper off so that the edges looked distressed, before taking a craft knife to it (after a few deep breaths!!) and cutting out the biggest stars.

I found some papers from my stash that co-ordinated well with the stars and tore strips to add behind the star paper. I wanted the torn edges on this layout because the photos I've used are of my little boy doing some crafts at the local Natural History Museum so I thought that 'messy' edges and toddler crafts went well together!

I then placed all the stars I'd cut out back into position, but raised up on foam pads to add dimension.

I mounted my photos first on white card, and then on a green Bazzill cardstock, again to co-ordinate with the stars, and positioned them on the layout on foam to raise them up to the same height as the stars.

I used some of the Die Cut Title words to create my title - 'So Fun' and added a few extra stars and a couple of pieces from the Die Cut Ephemera Pack and finished the layout with an orange border.

Finishing My First Creative Journal

Hi Lisa here today and I'm adding my final page to my creative journal.
This is the first time that I'm finishing one of my journals. It feels so great.
This was our 2018 US Roadtrip.

I'm using the Crate Paper - All Heart - Collection here.

And you can watch a video process of the page being made along with a final flip through of the journal here.

This is the final page at the back. I used the frames from the collection to create little mini flip albums. Each one holds 5 photos. Such a great way to add a few photos.

I also used the packaging from the frames to journal on and added the stickers to decorate.
This collection is so happy!

On the reverse of each photo I've added one of the matching papers to journal on.

 

And here is my finished journal. I'm so pleased with it. It's so colourful!!

Papermaze February Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today with the second pair of layouts I have made with the fabulously pretty February Papermaze Kit.. Here are the layouts I created - one for the family history album and the other for Catherine's wedding album. This time I have added chipboard and embossing powders to both layouts.

Hilda Marguerite - This layout features a delightful old photo from my husband's family -  Aunty Hilda when she was a young girl - 1908 - 1982.

All the papers were distressed and inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

First I took the sheet of Prima's Apricot Honey collection - All Together paper, I wanted to use the pretty foiled butterflies as well as the shabby white brick side. I started by cutting a strip approx 3.5" x 12" wide down one side of the paper. I also gutted a piece from under where my photograph would later sit. This gave me plenty of butterflies to fussy cut (and set aside), as well a brick background for most of the layout.

Prima - Apricot Honey - All Together

I had the same dilemma with the Kaisercraft - Ladylike - Rose paper, liking the roses as much as the pink and white polka dots! I tore a strip approx. 3.25" x 12" and another of about 1" x 12". I also tore a strip of Mauve Ice Bazzill 1" x 12".

Kaisercraft - Ladylike - Rose

With a scrap sheet of 12" x 12" paper (This is a sheet of thin scrapbook paper from my stash which I don't like or ever think I will use for a layout, rather than throw it out, I keep some for this purpose), I placed the brick paper to the right, then working to the left I added the Bazzill, then the roses side of the Kaisercraft paper followed by the spot side of the Kaisercraft on the far left. I only stuck them lightly as I wanted to tuck elements between the layers later on.

I mounted the photo onto some Mauve Ice Bazzill and attached it to the layout. I used the two tickets from the kit to decorate the right side of the photo raising one of foam tape. With the Sizzix Thinlits Ticket Booth die set I cut more tickets - from scraps of the Prima paper, picking foiled areas of script. These were tucked into place between the layers of paper and under the photo and other tickets.

I had a pack of Dusty Attic Chipboard Cherry Blossom in my stash and decided to decorate this with embossing powders. I used Bronze ultra thick embossing powder for the branches, and Stampendous Frantage Shabby Pink Embossing Enamel for the flowers - this is mainly white but has flecks of bronze and pink in it. I placed them top and bottom of the layout and popped a dot of Copper Penny - Nuvo Crystal Drops in the centre of each flower.

The title was created with Bazzill - Mauve Ice and the Sizzix Bigz XL Handmade alphabet die for 'Hilda' and Bark with the Sizzix Sizzlit Decorative Strip Typeset die for 'Marguerite'. I added a little Honey Gold Nuvo Crystal Drops to the larger word.

I used the large rose from the kit together with two smaller roses and some silk leaves from my stash to create a cluster of flowers for the bottom right of the photo, just below the tickets. 

Finally I attached a scattering of the butterflies I cut from the Prima paper, with some foam tape and a little more of the Honey Gold Nuvo drops to make the wings sparkle.

The Cake - Back to the wedding for this layout and a photo of George and Catherine cutting the cake. For this page as well as chipboard and embossing, I used lots of punches, inspired by the work of the talented Tracy Christine Funk.
 

I used the pink side of the Cocoa Vanilla Studio - More Than Words collection - Darling Buds as the base for this page. It's not easy to see in the photo but I splattered Dylusions White Linen Ink Spray over the page.

The layering was created with a selection of Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page punches from my collection. I used Lagoon Bazzill, and both sides of the Kaisercraft - Ladylike - Rose paper. I used the Crafter's Companion - Tea Party - Doily die and the Lagoon Bazzill to add to the layers, one of these was embossed with Stampendous Frantage - Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

The clock cut from the Stamperia - House of Roses - Tags paper last time, was distressed and I made some hands with scraps and place one of the pearls in the centre. This was tucked under the top left of the photo.

I had most of a pack of Dusty Attic French Flourish Border chipboard, and I cut a strip of three flourishes for the left side of the photo and one for the right. These were embossed with Stempendous Frantage - Aged Teal Embossing Enamel. before placing onto the layout.

I made my title on a piece of the pink dot paper, cut with a label die. Then I cut the word 'CAKE' using the Sizzix Bigz XL Alpha die - Handmade. I placed this with foam tape to the bottom left of the photo. I used some tiny letter stickers to add 'THE' to the photo just above the label. I arranged a few paper roses from my stash under this title. 

With the chipboard frond in the kit I treated this with Stampendous Frantage - Shabby Blue Embossing Enamel. This was place with the roses.

I used embellishments from the kit to finish off: - the crochet flower at the top right of the photo with one of the buttons in the centre; The curio by the title; The rest of the buttons scattered near the roses; The Dew Drops all over the page; The rest of the long strip of pearls among the buttons; Finally the lace ribbon along the bottom of the Flourish Border.
