A collegue of mine recently went on maternity leave and here is the card I made for her. She is expecting twins, a boy and a girl so I wanted to use pink and blue
I wanted a pink rose but only had these in cream so i used Pink Bubblegum glimmer mist to change the colour.
I made a bow from cream lace and stuck 2 heart pins through the knot of the bow.
I added a sequin flower to the bow.
I glued the pink rose to a Maya Road Kraft Ticket.
To finish off the embellishment I attached the lace bow to the tag.
For the background paper for the card I used Cosmo Cricket DeLovely - Delicious,
i also used making memories noteworthy scalloped half circle as shown below I mounted these onto bublegum pink card stock
Using a Martha Stewart border a created a border on white card stock and added this above the pink scallop paper. I then attached this to my white card
I coloured some cream ric rak with pink glimmer mist
I then attached my embellishment to the card and added my greeting using Cosmo Cricket DeLovely mini alphabet

My Little Shoebox
Today I would like to show you some ways to make the most out of your My Little Shoebox papers.
These papers are so bright and colourful. I find myself instantly attracted to them when I see them in shops. But these bold and very bright patterns can't always be easy to use.
Cutting them into strips is a great way to create fun LO's.
On this LO below, I took this piece of paper here Flying High it's called. I've cut along the lines for my strips. The clouds are also cut from this same piece of paper.
Another great thing about the My Little Shoebox papers is that they are double sided. The circle on my LO was cut from another piece and I used the reverse.
When using the papers in this way, you also get lots of use out of them. 1 piece if paper can be used on a few LO's.
This next one involves lots of cutting. A good sharp and small pair of scissors is needed (and some patience too).
This time I used the papers from this range. All a Flutter.
I trimmed down this piece here so I could stick it down onto a piece of bazzill, creating a framed look. The edges have been distressed and I painted very rough strokes in white over the top. This just softened the look of the paper. I wanted it to blend into the background more than stand out.
Once I stuck my photo down and painted a frame around that, I then got to cutting the patterned papers.
I've used the flowers from this piece here and used the butterflies and cut strips from this piece here. The flowers, strips and butterflies are then just layered up. Some pieces are stuck down using 3d foam pads to add a little height.
Several circles have been cut by hand out of the various patterns. These then get layered and fastened with a brad. You instantly have your own flowers now.
The leaves have also been just roughly hand cut, stitched up the centre and then add some double sided sticky tape on the back. Crumple before sticking onto your page and this gives a great 3d look.
Even the chipboard alphas have been covered in My Little Shoebox papers so everything ties in.
I took a piece of the Flying High paper and used the reverse for my journaling strips. I wrote on the paper first and then cut into strips.
I hope this has helped give you some new ideas on how to use these beautiful papers.
Supplies. My Little Shoebox papers, Bazzill, Paint, Mini Alpha Stickers, Brads

Scissor Happy with My Little Shoebox
Hi! It's Lisa here with two bright happy cards to show you.
I just love the My Little Shoebox papers. They are so fun to play with. I would like to share some ideas on how to use up your scraps.
These papers are shouting out to be cut up. With the big bold patterns, flowers, butterflies and my favourite, the strips. See here to see what I mean.
After making some LO's with the papers, I didn't want to throw away my scraps. They are too pretty to bin. So I have made these two cards.
For this card above, I cut a strip and punched another (using this punch). A little tip, when using this scalloped border punch, keep the bits left over. I'll show you why next.
Layer those two strips at the bottom of the card. I've then punched a flower and a small scalloped circle from the papers to make a flower. The butterfly was cut out from this paper here. The card has been finished with these letter alphas.
This next card, I cut a circle out of the same paper and punched 2 smaller circles.
I've used this butterfly punch and the dotted butterfly trail is made from the tiny circles left over from the scallop border punch that I used on my previous card.
A great way to use up those scraps.

American Crafts Abode range
The American Crafts Abode range is a gorgeous set of papers, with a general theme of 'home'. Some of the papers have cute houses and flowers in textured effects, along with contrasting colours on the reverse. However, when I was sent these papers, I decided to show how you shouldn't feel restricted by the obvious theme of a range when choosing what to scrap.
I put two layouts together with these papers. The first is of my niece Isobel at a family party - we spent ages trying to take a photo of her, but she kept blinking or pulling faces! This slightly surprised look is typical of her though. Some of the papers in the range matched up with the bright colours of her T-shirt and bib, so were a good choice for the layout. The papers are all very graphic, so I made them a bit 'prettier' and suitable for a baby layout by roughing up the edges of the papers, and backing them with Kraft cardstock. The layering of embellishments also helps to add texture.
The second layout is definitely not an obvious choice for this bright and springlike range, but shows how versatile the papers can be. I decided to scrap some photos of my family opening their pressies at Christmas - there weren't any decorations in shot, and mum and dad's living
room has got a turquoise theme, so I picked out the tones with my selection of papers.
To fit the theme, I created a simple bow from ribbon - this was very simply done by folding the ribbon back on itself and securing with double sided tape. I then cut another piece of ribbon to secure over the fold and tucked this in underneath the main piece.
I hope this gives you some ideas for using themed ranges for different purposes.

Pretty as a picture - day five
Hi and welcome to the last day of my week here on the Papermaze blog...i have gone back to picture frames today...one i used last year and has been sitting in the shop for a while now...i went to Papermaze the other day to get it and update it...
This is how i thought the frame would be...
Apart from the title part of it which i switched to Making Memories Paper shred findings it came out the same...
There are lots of circles on this one...each with a different type of punched embellishment on it...basically i did this...
and then layered them...to make this!!!
Here is a close up of it all together...
and some individual lines...
The top row...
and then the rows after...
this one is currently sitting in my bedroom on the fireplace...and there it will stay...
Now if you didnt want one so big you could try an individual one...i went to the shops and bought a single wooden frame for £1.79...
Here is the sketch of what i thought it would look like...
First off i made a tag and inked round the edges of it...
I then wrapped a small doily around it and inked the edges...
i then made the parts to adhere on to it...
Butterflies
and a layered flower.
I put the butterflies on the top and the bottom of the tag...before adhereing the text layered flowers i wrapped the centre of the tag with string. Before doing the bow i added the flower and the did the bow around and over the top of it...and then added a brad...
And volia a smaller version of the frame...
Supplies used on these projects:
My minds eye - quite contrary mary mary line
Basic Grey - Urban Prairie and Basic grey Basics - sphere
Gems
Prima flowers
Butterly punch
Thanks for popping in everyday this week...i cannot tell you how much i have enjoyed making these projects and i hope you have enjoyed seeing them everyday...if you are going to lift them, email them to me at wendy@bbbweb.com and i will add them to the blog.
