Favorite - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Indigo Garden Collection

Hi everyone, Rebecca with you today sharing my first layout using the new Simple Vintage Indigo Garden collection from Simple Stories. Is it just me, or do the Simple Stories collections keep getting better and better?! I don't think this collection will hang around in the store for long, so take a look here before it sells out!

I'm scrapping a photo of my son among the snowdrops at our local National Trust today, so I wanted to take the opportunity to use some of the floral papers from the collection. I selected the Beautiful Heart and Simply Sweet papers, along with the B side of the Little Details to help balance out the busy patterns. I cut strips from the papers, 1.5 inches wide and then distressed the long edges to introduce some texture the the page. I trimmed the strips to difference lengths, and then rolled the short ends in on themselves, revealing the pattern on the reverse.

With the papers distressed and rolled, I then arranged them horizontally on a sheet of Premium White Cardstock and machine stitched through the centre of them.

I matted my photo using the B side of the Simply Sweet paper, as there were hints of this pattern already on the page from the rolled edges, and then a second time using a Navy Cardstock from the 12x12 Basics Kit. I distressed all the edges for continuity and to bring more texture to the layout. I placed my photo in the centre of my page, raised up on a layer of foam.

Either side of my photo, I placed some floral die cuts from the Floral Bits & Pieces pack, selecting colours to match my patterned papers.

I used one of the Foam Stickers for my title, and placed it at an angle underneath my photo. I think the foam stickers are one of my favourite products in the Simple Stories collections and they are always the first thing I add to my basket! I placed a second foam sticker at the top of my photo.

I used some of the butterfly die cuts from the Floral Bits and Pieces pack to embellish further, and also fussy-cut some smaller butterflies from the Grace & Beauty patterned paper to vary the style and sizes. I arranged these centrally on my page, in a vertical fashion through the photo.

I selected a die cut from the Bits & Pieces pack which read 'Love This Most', stitched through the centre of it and placed it to the left of my photo.

I finished off my layout with some some stickers from the Combo Stickers sheet, placing some hearts around the page, and a tab which reads 'Memorable' to the right of my photo.

Thank you for reading! I hope you've enjoyed this layout and it offers you some inspiration in using this beautiful collection. If you'd like to watch the layout come together, there is a process video up on my YouTube channel, which you can find here

I'll be back later in the month with another layout using this stunning collection, so keep your eyes peeled!
