October Kit - trip report

Hi, it's Lisa here today.

I received a lovely box of goodies recently : ) the October kit!
You can find it  here.
A lovely combination of pretty papers, some Echo Park Stickers and lots of other bits.
I got working on this LO straight away. (always the sign of some good stash if you want to get started immediately)
I wanted to make a start on our Florida trip report even though we haven't actually gone yet.
This will be the first LO in our album. Our 'Pre-Trip' report.

Before going to Florida, it's always been a thing of measuring the kids before we go to see what they can and can not go on. So I thought this time it would be a fun thing to scrap and then basically document where we are at before the trip.

I used the little wooden pegs to hold our photos and twirled the bakers twine in amongst the pegs too.

I love the Simple Stories Strips. I've cut this one piece with the days of the week. I ran some double sided tape all along and then as I stuck it in place I created a wave like affect by not sticking it completely down.

I used the Prima Stamp that comes with it here and there as a very light background effect.
I used a lighter Distress Ink, so that it remained in the background and not a focal point. I didn't want it to over power.

Then I took a black pen and a ruler to create the section for my journaling.
If you aren't so keen on journaling it's a good idea to write it on a scrap piece of paper first before writing straight on to the LO.

I'm loving this kit and have created lots more with it : )

It soup time!

Nope I am not referring to the oncoming of Autumn and Winter....but to the new Jillibean soup line that has gone up today in the new Products section.... You have to go over and have a look.

It is full of bright colours which are just gorgeous!

I went to Papermaze the other day and grabbed this line....and dug into it as soon as I got home.

Are you a member of Pinterest? I am and have huge files full of inspiration....and like others I have yet to use them lol! But for this page I challenged myself to actually use something that I had pinned.

So I went looking and found this ....from the october Afternoon blog.

i love the rows of pattern paper, especially  the different ends of all of them....so i picked out my photo and than sat and made this with the pattern papers.

The best paper for doing this is, this one... you can find it here...perfect for cutting out those little strips.

And here is the page that I made...

these are the photos of my son having his yearly eye test. I asked the lady if I could take a photo ( think she thought I was mad) and she said 'yes of course...snap snap snap snap snap as as much as you like...hence the words snap all over the page!!!!

I used a little sticker from the soup labels sheet...love those!
Here is the bit that was lifted from the Pinterest picture...

the smile and the words remember come from this sheet ...which you can find here....

Dont forget to check back often...as I know there is alot of boxes piled up in the stock room waiting to go up online!

New Glitz Designs Papers...

If you go into the 'New Products' section of our website here, you will find Vanessa is constantly adding gorgeous new products to the site. I have chosen to play with some New Glitz Designs Papers we have had in recently. In particular, one sheet called 'Cashmere Dame - Honeycomb'

The beauty about this paper, as with many in the line, is that all the background work has been done for you! There are distressed hexagons scattered around, and I found it really quick and easy to make this page, which looked as if I had spend a lot more time on it than I actually needed to!

All I did was give my photo a coordinating border with another sheet from the Cashmere Dame line, and cut out a matching strip of bunting from the 'Banner' paper.
Before sticking these down, I spritzed and splated a bit of coordinating yellow and black ink around under where my photo would be.
The only other elements I added was my journaling and title, some twine, a small chipboard sign and some flowers. I kept these all white so they didnt distract from the gorgeous clours on the paper.

You can find the materials I used here...

Prima 'En Francais'

Hi! Its Lou here today with a page I made for Leslie who also works in the shop.
It is of her Husband Andy, which I made using Prima's line 'En Francais'.

The colours of the papers and embellishment suit both girly and masculine pages, and all coordinate so well...

Heres what I used...

Another layout with the September kit...

Hi folks! Amanda here to share another layout I made with the yummy September kit!

There are lots of little bits and pieces in this kit to add to your projects for that little extra detail.

The kraft circles were punched from the paper bag included in the kit, and I stitched them onto my page. I cut some of them in half before stitching to add a bit of interest.

I added some Ranger Liquid Pearls to create the dimensional silver and yellow pearl dots, too. I'm loving these little bottles of paint at the moment! I also used them to add the lies to the chipboard butterfly.

Have you got your hands on this kit yet? I'd love to see how you are using it!
