Simple Stories - Freezin' Season - Winter Wonderland

Hello, Karen here. This month I'm working with Freezin' Season from Simple Stories. This is a great whimsical winter collection that's perfect for scrapbooking snowy photos. We don't often get snow in my part of the country so when we do get some, I make sure I take lots of photos. The photos I used for today's layout were taken 10 years ago when snow fell everyday for a week!

I started with a sheet of Bazzill 12x12 Avalanche cardstock and using some Cosmic Shimmer Texture Paste and a Creative Expressions Mini Snowflakes Stencil I added some snowflakes to the top and bottom of the cardstock.

Before the paste dried, I sprinkled some microfine white glitter on top to make the snowflakes sparkle. It's difficult to see from this photo how much they sparkle but in real life they really shimmer.

I cut a 10½" x 2½" strip of the Sweater Weather (B Side) paper and stuck this horizontally across the page as a shelf for my photos. The photos were matted on some grey cardstock and a piece of the Snuggle Up (B Side) paper.

I cut strips of the Sweater Weather (A Side) paper and layered these horizontally and vertically on the layout. I also included in the layers a piece of lace, some glitter cardstock and some washi tape for added texture.

Where the horizontal and vertical paper strips met, I  added a snow-globe and little girl which I fussy cut from the 3x4 Elements paper and the Frosty Friends paper. I embellished the snow-globe with some more glitter.

Silver glittery foam alphabet stickers and some older Simple Stories pink alphabet stickers were used for the title.

On the edge of one of the photo I added three Dusty Attic Wordpl@y chipboard words which I rubbed a little white acrylic paint into.

My layout was completed with a scattering of silver sequins, some tiny number stickers for the date and a doodled pen border.

I hope you like this layout and I'll be back soon with another one. There are lots of winter themed goodies in the shop so why not pop along and treat yourself.

Take Care,
Karen x x
