Let's Go!

Hi guys, it’s Claire here and I’m excited to be sharing my very first layout with you!

This month, I’m working with the Pinkfresh Studio Noteworthy collection. It’s such amazing quality and so beautiful – full of pinks, blues, lilacs, greens and yellows that are perfect for those spring/summer pages and that gorgeous weather we’ve been having recently.

I decided to scrap an older photo from 2017, documenting a trip we took to Barcelona to visit one of my best friends who lives out there. On this particular day, we’d wandered off the tourist trail to track down a local restaurant that had been recommended.

For my layout, I used white textured Bazzill Basics cardstock as the base, with a strip of the All The Goodness paper at the bottom. The paper is set out a bit like a map and was great to emphasize the streets we wandered down on our hunt for the restaurant (it felt like many!)

Next, I decided to back this Pinkfresh Studio rainbow cut file in papers from the collection. The purple patterned paper is the b side of the All The Goodness paper. The lovely yellow check paper is called Happy Thoughts and the blue is Right Now, which I also used to back my photo, distressing the edges to add texture.  All the papers are very pretty, but the blue in particular really caught my eye. It’s the b side of the paper. It has a white gridline pattern on it that would be perfect for the base layer of a page. The front of the paper is a cute cut apart sheet, great for capturing everyday moments – I may have to grab some more and hoard it for a while as I’ve really taken a shine to it!

I used the Journaling Bits either side of my photo and added a large tag from the pack behind my picture, to create a bit of height through the rainbow. The Journaling Bits pack is full of tags, pockets, envelopes and journaling cards in a range of beautiful colours to complement the papers, and adds real interest to your layouts.

I made a dotted line with a felt tip pen around the tag and the journaling card for extra definition and tied some pink twine from my stash through the tag.

To create a bit more depth on the page I used the yellow journaling card to make a small cluster, with the elements backed on foam pads. I fussy cut the 'Right Now' sentiment from the Lovely Moments paper and added the bakery shop from the ephemera pack. The ‘Around Here’ and ‘Enjoying the fresh air’ are also from the pack, and are raised on foam pads.

I generally like to have a border around my page so on this occasion, I decided to use my journaling to create this effect. Finally, I added a small cluster in the top corner using the Little Moments tag and Life is Good banner from the ephemera pack, and of course, a piece of my favourite blue Right Now paper. The Let’s Go title is made from puffy stickers from my stash. They’re from the Crate Paper Sunny Days collection. Unfortunately, the stickers are sold out in the shop but there’s still lots of this collection available which you can check out here.

And that’s it for my first page. I hope you like it and have enjoyed the post.  I will be back again in a few weeks time with my second layout.

Stay safe and well.

It’s lovely Claire. ‘Older’ picture made me smile.....I’ve one on my desk waiting for me this morning and it’s 27 years old! I’m slow...! Love that you’ve divided the base paper and included some of that street scene print - it’s perfect for the job and doubles the impact of the story for me.
