Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Christmas Lodge - Joyful

Hi everyone and Happy December!

I absolutely LOVE this time of year, and I'll be capturing all the festivities of the season using the Simple Vintage Christmas Lodge collection from Simple Stories - It's a stunner!

I'm starting with this fun layout, documenting the most delicious chocolate milkshake after visiting the Christmas lights in our local town centre.

I started with my usual Premium White Cardstock and wanted to layer several of the patterned papers together for my 3 photos to sit on.

I began with the Good Cheer tartan paper, and layered it underneath of a piece of the Boughs of Holly paper. I destressed the edges of both and love the contrast of the black and white plaid against the red and green tartan.

Underneath these two papers, I added a thin strip of the b side of the Good Cheer paper, again distressing the edges.

To help the photos pop, I mounted them on black Bazzill cardstock, raising them on foam.

Once this panel was stuck together, I decided I wanted a longer vertical banner down the left of the page. I used the b side of the 3x4 Elements Paper which has a vibrant diagonal stripe on it - perfect for bringing all the colours of the collection together.

I stuck all the papers down, adding some Distress Oxide ink with a brush just under some of the outer edges of the papers, and then began embellishing!

To the right, I added a small cluster using some elements from the Woodland Bits & Pieces pack, rolling the edges slightly to create dimension and adhering with foam pads.

On the top left, I added the large die cut tree, again from the Woodland Bits & Pieces Pack, ensuring the Distress Oxide Ink extended beyond the tree to help bind it to the design.

I also added some red and white twine from my stash, creating a bow that runs along the side and top of the design.

My third large cluster lies next to the vertical banner. I used the Hello Happy tag from the Bits & Pieces Pack. I layered some extra foliage under the tag to extend the design which came from the Woodland Bits & Pieces pack used earlier.

For my title, I just had to use those gorgeous Foam Stickers that Simple Stories do so well!

The Joyful phrase seemed so apt for my photos and captures the essence of December.

As a final finishing touch, I added a sticker,  some smaller embellishments and small foam hearts around the design.

And that was the page complete!

If you like to scrap in traditional or rustic Christmas colours, I'd highly recommend this collection. It's been really lovely to create with and I can''t wait to make more!

See you soon.
