Echo Park - Day in the Life - Daily Life

Hello,

Claire here wishing you all a very Happy New Year.

I have a new layout for you today using the Echo Park Day in the Life collection.  This collection is extremely versatile. It has lots of cut apart designs on the 'a' sides, perfect for monthly pocket pages, but also has the most beautiful patterned papers on the 'b' sides which I just couldn't resist.

My layout is inspired by a Bella Boulevard sketch I saw last year that I instantly fell in love with and has stayed in my mind ever since.

I started with the Matchmaker Pack. I used the white cardstock as my background and cut 3x2.5" strips of coloured cardstock in the blue, pink and yellow.  I used a notebook border punch to create an interesting edge for the pink paper, and punched two tabs for the remaining strips using the yellow gingham paper (October) and beautiful blue paper (June) - I think that's my favourite :)

To attach the tabs, I stuck them loosely with a glue pen and machine stitched along the top of the strip.

I created my photo cluster at the bottom right of the design layering a cut apart form the April paper (which I also used to back my photo).

I cut the 'Good Vibes Only' clipboard, fussy cut from the January paper.

The 'b' side of this paper is filled with beautiful florals, which I fussy cut and added to my photo cluster and scattered around the page, raised on foam pads for dimension and movement.

I made the 'Daily Life' title by cutting this from the October paper and stuck this flat to the page.

To embellish, I selected a few stickers from the Element Sticker sheet. I added the tab to the side of the photo and bulldog clip to the top of the photo cluster.  The string of notes sticker I absolutely adore, so gave this a prominent place across the bottom of my page, raised on foam pads.

To create a little extra interest, I made a small cut at the top of the page and folded the edges back. Underneath, I layered a piece of the Blue Matchmaker card, revealing a pop of colour to complement the page.

As a final touch, I added a few small drops of Black Nuvo Drops and hand drew a border in black gel pen.

I really love how this turned out. That colour combination is one of my all time favourites and is just the bright and cheery I need for a cold and rainy January.

See you a bit later this month for another layout.

Claire xx
