Photoplay - Christmas Junque - Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time
Hello, Karen here. Are you ready for Christmas, or are you like me - frantically dashing about trying to get those last-minute things done?
Despite the chaos of the season, I have managed to squeeze in some scrapping time and today I have another layout to share with you, using the gorgeous Christmas Junque collection from Photoplay.
I began the layout with a sheet of the Unwrap the Magic paper (B side). I trimmed the paper down slightly, rounded the corners and then matted it onto a sheet of red Bazzill cardstock from the Matchmaker Pack, making sure to leave a narrow border around the edges. Before gluing the patterned paper down, I gutted the middle of the red cardstock so I still had the rest of the sheet available to use.
Using the remaining red cardstock, I cut a bauble shape using my Silhouette machine. I combined two different cut files from the Silhouette Store, 'bauble flourish drop corner' and 'bauble frame' but manipulated and welded the two files together before cutting them. I then backed the cut file with patterned papers from the collection and two photos.
I also used some gold mirror card to back the tops of the baubles. The backed cut file was glued flat to the layout.
Thin green ribbon bows were used to embellish the baubles and add some texture.
Some phrase strips and small images were cut from the Collage Cut Out Sheets and added.
On the left side of the layout there was a convenient space to add a word plaque from the Collage Sheets.
I positioned the title at the bottom of the layout, which I cut using the Silhouette from more gold mirror card. I always like to add a touch of gold to my Christmas project. I think it really gives a layout that perfect festive sparkle!
Finally, I added the date in the bottom left corner and a scattering of green sequins at the top.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and that you take lots of photos to capture those special memories and I'll be back again in the New Year with more scrappy inspiration to share.
Take Care

Photoplay - Christmas Junque - Merry Christmas
For my layout, I paired this collection with a cute photo of my daughter writing her letter to Santa many years ago. I even included the words of her original letter as my journaling.
In the centre of the layout, I layered pieces of the
Christmas Time, December and Mrs. Claus Bakery papers. Each piece was matted
with gold mirror card to add to the festive feel of the layout, before being
arranged in the centre. My 6x4 photo was also matted with the gold card and
placed on top of the layered papers.
The ‘Merry Christmas’ title was cut from the Collage Cut Out Sheets and positioned beneath the photo.
I used cut-out baubles and word strips from the Collage
sheet, cascading them down the right side of the photo.
I typed up a copy of my daughter's letter to Santa, printed
it, cut it into strips, and glued these to the layout as journaling.
I threaded gold twine through one of the paper layers along
the top, giving it a tag-like appearance.
Red felt stars from my stash were added for texture.
To complete the layout, I added soft, watered-down green ink
around the layered papers to define the edges and dotted tiny stars -punched
from the gold card - around the layout for a final sparkle.
Until next time, take care, Karen x x

November Papermaze Kit - Part 1
Hi - Lynn here today. This month's Papermaze kit is packed with the amazing colours of autumn. I have had so much fun working with the November selection. I have created these two pumpkin related layouts for my first post.
Before looking at how the layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit.
Patterned Papers
Carta Bella - Honeybee Collection - Bees and Flowers & Honeycomb Clusters
Carta Bella - It's Autumn collection - Fall Flowers
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Autumn Breeze collection - Welcome Fall & Falling Leaves
Photoplay - Autumn Junque collection - Harvest
Embellishments:
Pretty Little Studio gingersnap die-cut leaves
Pretty Little Studio gingersnap cozy weather banner
Pretty Little Studio gingersnap I heart fall stickers
Little birdie flower
Pinkfresh Studio garden bouquet enamel dots
49 and Market Vicki Boutin Curiosities in Willow Grove chipboard bits
1m hemptique yarn
Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Yukon Gold, Pinecone (included in kit), Twill, Ruby Slipper, Aspen & Pumpkin Patch.
Thankful
- This layout was inspired by a digital page that I saw on Pinterest
(JoCee from Sweetshoppedesigns.com), however mine is made with paper and
glue and it came out quite different! Catherine, George and Florence
met up with friends at
Spadework Charity PYO Pumpkins in West Malling.
With the Harvest paper, I cut a piece from the grey area 4" x 12", I printed my journalling onto this piece just below half was down the panel. Then all these pieces were stuck into place on the scrap paper to create a 12" x 12" background.
I printed one very large and three small photos. I mounted the large photo to the left of the page. The smaller photos were mounted onto Pinecone Bazzill, to make narrow borders. These were then fixed to the page.
I used one of the 49 and Market Vicki Boutin Curiosities in Willow Grove chipboard bits from the kit, as my title.
With a sheet of Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Autumn Breeze Cardstock Stickers, I created the embellishments for the layout.
Autumn Beauty - Dressed for autumn, Florence at her favourite bench at the Abbey Ruins.
I splattered some Distress Oxide Inks over the Bazzill (Ground Espresso and Carved Pumpkin).
Then I cut three panels of patterned paper, 3" x 8" - I used scraps from the previous layout - the plaid side of Welcome Fall and two different areas of the Harvest paper. I distressed the edges of these panels and arranged them horizontally onto the layout.
My photo was mounted onto some white card, and tore the bottom of the card, this was, in turn mounted onto a piece of Yukon Gold Bazzill. This was cut longer than the white, and also torn at the base. I tied some of the hemptique yarn from the kit around this cardstock. My mounted photo was then glued in place on the page.
I cut the word 'Autumn' twice using my Cricut, using Pinecone and Pumpkin Patch Bazzill, I also used Doddlebug Designs Alphabet Soup letter stickers in Gold to add the word 'Beauty' and the date.
That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.

Photoplay - Lucky Cat - Enjoy Every Moment
Hi there,
Claire here with my second layout using the Photoplay Lucky Cat collection.
Today, my layout is calm and serene as i'm scrapping photographs of one of our visits to a temple whilst in Japan.
In total contract to my first layout, I'm starting with my usual Premium White Cardstock.
I took a circle template and brushed Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide across it to create a circle of pale blue ink to act as an anchor from which to build my design.
I added Bundled Sage Distress Oxide to a piece of the Lanterns paper (b side) to help the green pop and adhered this centrally across the circle. On top of that I layered the Lucky Cat paper which i'd cut into a fishtail.
Across the middle, I adhered three photos to the b side of the Cherry Blossoms paper, and raised on foam for extra depth between each paper layer.
I kept the embellishing simple, adding Element Stickers to each side of my photo strip.
I couldn't resist those gorgeous lanterns which I added to the top of the design, and finished with a final Sticker to create my title.
I hope you've enjoyed this calmer layout and the versatility of this collection.
I'll be back next month to share some more creative ideas, but until then, you can check out this collection in full here.
Claire xx

August Papermaze Kit - Part 2
Lynn here today with the bright, summery August kit, which has been great fun to work with. Here are the first two layouts I have created with this kit. The kit is now available in store and online. Two more layouts featuring my granddaughter, one with all four generations and the other from a few weeks ago, washing her favourite soft toy.
Patterned Papers:
Doodlebug Designs - Butterfly Kisses collection - Happy Thoughts & Garden Party
Echo Park - Have a Great Summer collection - Best Life Butterflies
Lawn Fawn - Bitsy Blooms collection - Begonia
Photoplay - This Happy Life collection - Sweet Hello
Simple Stories - Crafty Babe collection - Live. Love,.Scrap
The photo above shows both sides of the papers.
2 Doodlebug Designs cupcake doilies, Pretty Little Studio Berry Sweet Word Stickers, flair button, strip of jewels, 6 SS Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Sentiment Bits & Pieces, Pretty Little Studio Word Cut Aparts You Are My Sunshine, Rosie's Studio 2 chipboard pieces Born to Bloom and 6 Doodlebug Designs All Aflutter stickers
Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Fussy, Aqua (included in kit), Granny Smith, Tangelo, Pollen and Coconut Swirl (in extra pack).
It's a Girl Thing! - This layout is for my sister's album and shows her with Florence, with all four generations.
I started this layout with the Coconut Swirl Bazzill, then built up the design with several other papers from the kit.
The edges of all cut papers were inked with Distress Inks. I cut a 3" x 11" strip of Best Life Butterflies paper, and placed this to the left of the page. Then layered an 8.5" circle of Garden Party paper on top.
I gutted the Begonia paper and saved the 1" frame for the next layout. The photos were then mounted onto the grid side of the remaining paper. I placed the photos onto the layout. One of the cupcake doilies from the kit was positioned under the left side photo. I cut a 2" white card circle to place over the centre of the doily, and wrote my journalling onto it.
For the title I used a set of Doodlebug Designs Foam Stamps 'Simply Sweet' and some black acrylic paint to stamp the word 'Girl' onto the green side of the Garden Party paper. I cut these letters out and placed them onto the layout. Then with Doodlebug Designs Rub-ons 'All Mixed Up' Large Beetle Black, I added the rest of the title.
Using more Doodlebug Designs Rub-ons 'All Mixed Up', this time small and Medium in Beetle Black, I spelt out the date and the subtitle. Also, from Doodlebug Designs I used some Sew-Easy Rub-on Stitches.
I created a large and small cluster of flowers to reflect the flowers on the papers. I used Bazzill cardstock from the kit and a few other shades from my own stash, and some old leaf and flower dies from my stash.
I made a frame for the layout using Begonia, before starting the first layout, and I'm using it here, daisy side up. I trimmed some Coconut Swirl Bazzill to 10.5" x 10.5" and heavily inked the edges with Distress Oxide Ink in Speckled Egg, as this is a great match for the paper.
I used the second doily from the kit over where my smaller photos will go on the right of the layout, and inked through and around it, to create a lacy pattern. With more ink mixed with a little water, I flicked more ink over the page.
Using various patterned paper scraps from the kit (Live. Love,.Scrap, Garden Party and Begonia), I cut some strips and placed them, overlapping one another to the left side of the page. My large photo was placed in the centre of the layout, with two smaller photos to each side.
The title was cut from Black and Pollen Bazzill, using the Spellbinders - Simple Stories - Say Cheese Classic Mouse Alphabet Die Set. These were mounted over one another, to create a shadow, and then arranged on the layout using 3D foam pads of alternate letters to add some texture.
I embellished the layout with items from the kit - Pretty Little Studio Berry Sweet Word Stickers, flair button, strip of jewels, 6 SS Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Sentiment Bits & Pieces and Rosie's Studio 2 chipboard pieces Born to Bloom.
This concludes the August kit, although there is still plenty of papers card and embellishments to create another layout.
I'll be back with the September kit very soon.
Thanks for looking.
