Echo Park - Feels Like Fall - Step Into Autumn

Hello! Karen here, sharing a brand-new autumnal layout created with Echo Park’s fabulous Feels Like Fall collection. This collection has a colour palette of rich red, mustard yellow, burnt orange, forest green, warm brown, slate grey, and creamy off-white neutrals and has images of leaves, pumpkins, gourds, wheelbarrows, pies, and florals. It’s the perfect collection for documenting all your favourite autumn memories.

Quilting and patchwork-style layouts are having a massive moment in scrapbooking right now - I've been seeing so many gorgeous ones popping up on my Instagram feed! Since it’s been quite a while since I last tried my hand at one, I figured now was the perfect time to change that.

To get started, I cut 2" squares out of white cardstock and various patterned papers (Autumnal Plaid,
Wheelbarrows & Leaves and Harvest Bakery) then cut each square in half diagonally to form triangles.

I arranged the triangles across a 12" x 12" sheet of cardstock, and once I was happy with the overall layout, I secured them in place using a light layer of glue.

Once all the triangles were secure, I used white thread to machine-stitch a zigzag border around each one. Though it was a bit time-consuming, I love the finished look and the texture it adds to the layout.

I cut a narrow frame from a sheet of orange cardstock from the Bazzill Matchmaker Pack, then layered it over the background along with some gold mirror cardstock.

I double-matted my photo using white cardstock and a bit more gold cardstock, then positioned it in the centre of the layout with some 3D foam to lift it up and add dimension.

Using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut the title from gold cardstock and created a cream cardstock mat to back it. I positioned the title just below the bottom edge of the photo, overlapping it slightly.

I fussy-cut several flowers from the Harvest Blossoms paper and paired them with a few die-cut leaves to build two clusters around the photo.

The date was added to the bottom right corner with more die cuts.

The layout was completed with a scattering of gold sequins.

Thank you so much for dropping by today. I hope you like my layout and feel inspired to document your favourite autumn memories and maybe even give paper quilting a go on your next scrapbook layout.

Until next time, Take Care.
