49 and Market - Glimmer and Glee collection - Part 1

Lynn here today with a different collection, this month I'm using 49 and Market's pretty pastel Glimmer & Glee collection. This collection has water colour style images, which are great for documenting parties, birthdays, babies, and garden gatherings. The palette is a clever mix of pretty corals, pinks, yellows, blues and greens. Here are my first two layouts using this collection.

New Baby Boy - This first layout has photos of my great nephew at 7 weeks.

I started with a sheet of Jubilee, which said 'Baby Boy' to me. I chose to have the dark plaid band to the left side of the page. I trimmed my photos to measure 6 x 8cm. I arranged them along the pale plaid pattern band, after matting them onto some pale blue card stock. The mats were inked with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

I selected some images from the Glimmer & Glee Laser Cut Elements sheets - I used the larger wreath over the photo in the centre of the trio. 

I hung the bear on the swing from the bottom of the wreath and the bear with balloons, flying off from the top right of the wreath. I attached the bears with 3D foam pads.

For my title I used some old foam stamps I have in my craft room, made by Making Memories.
I stamped the title words 'NEW BABY' with Distress Paints. First with Scattered Straw, to create the shadow, then with Faded Jeans for the bolder main colour. Once the paint was dry, I coated the blue letters with a layer of Nuvo Glitter Drops - Gold Coast. A date was added inside the wreath, with card stock letters, die cut using Tim Holtz Alphanumeric 'Label' Thinlits set. 

I added the word 'BOY' to the title with Doodlebug Designs Sunshine card stock Alphabet Stickers - Bumblebee.

More Laser Cut Elements were chosen to add balloons, a bunch floating up from the semicircle printed at the bottom right of the layout, and a single blue balloon to the top left semicircle. 

With some acrylic domes in pastel shades, I scattered multi-coloured dots over the page. Finally, I added an acrylic heart from my stash to the wreath. 

Lazy Sunday Afternoon Here is my granddaughter, all dressed up and visiting her other grandparents for Sunday lunch.

This time I chose the Glimmer and Glee Cheers paper, on the side with two large white areas suitable for photo mats. A difficult decision as I love the other side with the balloons too!
I printed my photos in two different formats and sizes to suit the white areas on the paper. There is a wreath printed onto this sheet - similar to the lase cut one I used on the first page.

Working up from the bottom of the layout, I created a page wide flower trough, by cutting a 2cm  strip from the wooded planks side of Toast paper. I glued this down at either end leaving the length free, allowing me to tuck in the bird table and flowers. 

Then I built up a picture to reflect the garden in the photos. I selected images from the Glimmer & Glee Laser Cut Elements sheets. I stuck the element down under the strip, but raised them up on 3D foam pads above the strip... 

... I started with the bird house near the centre, then the rows of flowers either side of this. In some cases, I added more single flowers overlapping the first layer.

I used Tim Holtz Alphanumeric dies 'Tiny Type - in upper and lower case, to create the date from cardstock, and glued this in place over the paper strip. 

With a selection of butterflies from the Laser Cuts collection, I arranged them in an arc from one photo to the other at the top left of the page. I folded up the wings, glued the bodies to the page and place 3D foam pads under the wings to give them motion. I added two more butterflies in the same way, to the right of the page following the line of the wreath.

My title was created on the Cricut using more of the pale blue card stock and Faded Denim Distress Ink.

September Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Hello, Lynn here today, I have two layouts for you from the new September Kit. This pair show photos from the same day, at two different places visited, because I used papers and embellishments from the same lovely 49 and Market collection, they also make a good double layout. 

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here are the details of what you will find in the September kit.

Embellishments:

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Touch of Pink, Lily Pond (included in kit), Hibiscus, Bark, Avocardo & Powder Blue (in extra pack). 

Mudchute Park and Farm 

For the base of this layout, I chose the Busy Bee paper from 49 and Market's Nature's Haven collection. The gingnham and flowers and strawberries are perfect for the photos. 

I mounted my photos onto the Touch of Pink Bazzill, and arranged them onto the paper. 

The kit contains a selection of 49 and Market - Nature's Haven Wildflowers Laser Cuts, and I added to these with my own pack of the same. I also used a few pieces from a pack of Laser Cut Elements. These were used to build up the image clusters, already on the paper. Some of the elements were raised up with 3D foam pads.

The title and date involved some stash busting! I used several sheets of alphabet stickers in shades to work with the paper collection. They are old Basic Grey alphabet stickers.

For this page I used the other sheet of Nature's Haven paper supplied in the kit - Happy Place. 

The photos were mounted in the same was as before with the Bazzill mounts. I had to purchase a second sheet of Touch of Pink Bazzill, as I also used it for my tags.

I cut one large and two small tags from the Bazzill, I used the Tim Holtz, Tag Collection Sizzix die set. The reinforcement ring for the larger tag was cut from the Hibiscus Bazzill. 

I inked the edges of the tags with Distress Ink - Festive Berries. I tied some red and white Baker's Twine into the holes. The journalling was written on the two small tags, and I used the exclusive acrylic phrase, on the large tag for the title. 

I arranged the photos and tags, then added lots more from the Laser Cuts and Laser Cut Elements. I created some new image clusters around the photos and added some bugs and butterflies around my large tag. 3D foam pads were used to add definition to some elements.

March Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn back with you today, and the second pair of layouts using the March Papermaze Kit, both the layouts feature my daughter from back in 1995, using the pretty, spring papers and other items in the March kit.

Here is the kit, showing the 6 papers, 2 sheets of cardstock and a selection of matching embellishments to try. Don't forget there is also a pack of 4 sheets of cardstock, selected by Vanessa, to go with the kit as an extra purchase (see all six sheets of cardstock in a photo below).

Easter Egg Hunt - Emily and the others on an Easter egg hunt I set up in my parent's garden for my children and their cousins.



I started making this layout with the Be Happy paper, I gutted the paper to make a frame of 1" wide. I trimmed the CS White Bazzill to 11" x 11" and with several Distress Oxide Inks, I stencilled bubbles onto the pace, so they will show either side of the diamond panel, using the Tim Holtz - Layering Stencil THS002.

I cut diamonds from the colourful stripes on the gutted paper, using a diamond shape die from my stash. The diamonds were arranged onto the paper, to create a vertical panel, left of the centre. Then I flicked some of the inks used earlier, over the page and papers. The decorated Bazzill, was then applied over the frame cut earlier.

I trimmed my photos into oval shapes and arranged them to the top, right of the panel. The title was made with an 'Easter' acrylic word I found in my stash. I also used some Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup puffy letter stickers (Mint and Bumblebee).

I scattered the flower puffy stickers over the page. My title and a little doodling were added with a fine black marker pen.

Spring Cleaning - Here is my daughter Emily again, same year, spring cleaning the Wendy house in our garden.

For this layout I chose the Echo Park Free Spirit Fireflies paper, using the yellow side up.

Over the page I created four areas using two small doilies for each Doodlebug Designs. I used a coloured doily covered by a white doily, before adding my embellishments.

I cut six small tags, using the Sizzix Thinlet set - Tag Collection by Tim Holtz. I cut four tags using the Mintay #04 paper, two with the candy striped side up and the other two showing the white wood panel side. I cut two more tags from the SS Lovely Day paper, arranging one to show the numbers down the length, and the other with the stripes running horizontally, so I could use them to write my journalling.

I used scraps from the first layout, to make the reinforcement circles for the tags. then threaded them all with some crochet cotton, which I tied into bows at the top of each tag.

I arranged three tags onto two of the doily circles, the top right circle was for my title. The bottom left circle was for my journalling (please see photos for positioning of tags).

For the title I used some Dear Lizzy Thickers - Treasure (chipboard and glitter). and some Doodlebug Designs, Alphabet Soup letter stickers in Mint.

I wrote my journalling on the tag cluster, bottom left and added the date with Doodlebug Designs, Alphabet Soup letter stickers in Bubblegum.

I mounted the two small square photos onto scraps of SS Lovely Day paper. then positioned them over the two remaining doily circles.

Finally, I embellished the clusters, using elements from the kit, Tea Garden Bits & Pieces, Rosie's Studio butterfly, wooden butterflies, selection of Rosie's Studio puffy sentiments and mini flowers.
