August Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Lynn here today with the bright, summery August kit, which has been great fun to work with. Here are the first two layouts I have created with this kit. The kit is now available in store and online. I have been working with photos of my granddaughter's recent visit to us in Suffolk.

This is what you will find inside the kit:

Patterned Papers:
Doodlebug Designs - Butterfly Kisses collection - Happy Thoughts & Garden Party
Echo Park - Have a Great Summer collection - Best Life Butterflies
Lawn Fawn - Bitsy Blooms collection - Begonia
Photoplay - This Happy Life collection - Sweet Hello
Simple Stories - Crafty Babe collection - Live. Love,.Scrap

The photo above shows both sides of the papers.

2 Doodlebug Designs cupcake doilies, Pretty Little Studio Berry Sweet Word Stickers, flair button, strip of jewels, 6 SS Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Sentiment Bits & Pieces, Pretty Little Studio Word Cut Aparts You Are My Sunshine, Rosie's Studio 2 chipboard pieces Born to Bloom and 6 Doodlebug Designs All Aflutter stickers

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Fussy, Aqua (included in kit), Granny Smith, Tangelo, Pollen and Coconut Swirl (in extra pack).

Ball Pit Fun - We took Florence along to a toddler group where she loved playing in the big ball pit. These colourful photos were ideal for the papers in this kit.

I stared by cutting out the tags on the Doodlebug Design Inc. Happy Thoughts paper, and matching them with my Distress Inks.

Once I selected the colours, I diluted a little ink of each colour on the craft mat with some water. I used a small jar top, to mimic the balls, and stamped circles all over the Coconut Swirl Bazzill. I wriggled the jars a little on the cardstock to make the ink move around. I also flicked some of the wet ink over the page.

The 6 tags were all treated in the same way, using the corresponding colour ink and other items. I inked the edges of the tags, punched a hole in the top, and attached an acrylic flower (which I have had in my stash some time, but I think were from Doodlebug Design Inc.), with a matching brad.

A photo was placed onto three of the tags, my journalling was written on the fourth. The other  two were used to add the date and the title. For the lettering I used Doodlebug Designs Inc. Alphabet Soup puffy letter stickers in colours to match the tags, inks and other items.

I found some Bakers twine in my stash in yellow and pink and used a length of each to join the rows of tags together.

I decorated each tag with a phrase from the Berry Sweet Word Stickers supplied in the kit.

Finally, with a black pen I did a little doodling and added the Doodlebug Designs All Aflutter butterfly stickers, from the kit.

Pebbles - Florence discovering pebbles on the beach at Aldeburgh.

For this layout I selected the Aqua Bazzill from the kit for the background. Then using some scrap white, I found this cutfile on the Cricut and cut the whole image to use as a stencil for placing the coloured pieces into place. Then I cut the pieces I wanted from the Tangelo and Pollen Bazzill as well as the Live. Love,.Scrap and Begonia papers. I distressed and inked all the pieces before putting them in place on the Aqua Bazzill.

I mounted the photos onto some white card, and arranged them onto the layout.

I made a banner from a length of Baker's Twine and the Word Cut Aparts You Are My Sunshine from the kit. I raised the flags on 3D foam pads.

My title was made with Dear Lizzy Thickers Treasure.

With a selection of pearls and gems, I added a little sparkle to the layout.

That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.

April Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Welcome to the April Papermaze kit, This month's kit has a selection of photo papers, making it suitable for a selection of masculine, heritage and floral designs. The first two layouts are based on photo papers as the main feature of the page. As well as the six patterned papers, the kit has a collection of  embellishments. There are two sheets of Bazzill cardstock included, and you can also buy four more in the co-ordination pack.

Before looking at how I made the layouts, here are the details of what you will find in the kit.

Patterned Papers:
Mintay Papers -
Photographer collection - #02 & #05
Stamperia - Alterego collection - Postcard & Turquoise Wallpaper
Stamperia - Create Happiness collection - Dewdrops - Wood
P13 - Love Stories collection - #06

2, 49 & Market frames, 6 pieces 49 & Market acetate ephemera, 1 strip Prima crystals, 1 sheet P13 alpha stickers, selection of Cocoa Vanilla foam stickers, 12" lace, 6" Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon and 6x Tim Holtz brads

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Twig & Whirlpool (included in kit). Coastal, Avalanche, Jade & Cinnamon Stick (in extra Bazzill pack)

Photography Project - This photo was taken by my daughter, as part of an A Level photography experiment. With the help of two friends who were willing to dress up and pose for her to do a film camera, black and white Victorian project, in the local park.

I started with the Mintay Papers -  Photographer collection - #02 paper, and with a craft knife I cut out the lens from the camera, fussy cutting around the flowers and smaller cameras. I printed the photo A4 size and arranged it to show through the lens.

I fussy cut flowers from
#05 paper, and layered these up with foam pads in the bottom right corner.

I placed a piece of white card under one of the 49 & Market frames, for my journalling. This was placed near the bottom of the layout near the flowers.

I created my title and date around the lens with the
P13 alpha stickers from the kit.

Seeds and Bulbs - A collection of spring flowers, photographed in my garden this year.

I wanted to make the paper - P13 - Love Stories collection - #06 into a showcase for the photos of my flowers. I started by cutting each of the drawers away from the chest. I used a craft knife to cut each drawer away, leaving the frame in one piece. I inked all the edges with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.

I stuck the frame onto the sheet of Cinnamon Stick Bazzill.

I used a selection of Tim Holtz Sizzix dies to create an envelope, filmstrips, label holders, a rosette and tickets. These incude Alphanumeric Tiny Type Upper, Collector and Specimen. I also used the Sizzix Decorative Strip - Sizzlit mini filmstrip and mini tickets. I cut these shapes from some scrap Bazzill cardstock in Kraft and White, using more ink to distress the edges.

I printed my photos as small index prints so they would fit in the negative frames. Then I mounted others onto some white card.

I created each drawer, adding the shapes and words, labels etc. I used a few brads from the kit and others from my stash. Many items were stuck to the back of the drawers so they would be seen peeking out. Then all the drawers were replaced into the cabinet, using 3D foam pads to raise them up from the background.

Other items I included were, lolly sticks, wooden leave fronds, skeleton leaves, twine, key charms, and some stickers from a previous kit. I also used the Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon from the kit.

That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit soon.

November Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Hello! - Lynn here today, with my first post using the pretty November Papermaze Kit. This month includes florals, pastels and woodland themed papers.

Here are my first two pages, both featuring my new baby granddaughter.

Here are the details of what you will find in the kit:

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Birdsong collection - Sweet Notes & Songs of Hope
49 and Market - Vintage Orchard collection - Woodgrained
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers collection - Seeds of Kindness & Wild & Beautiful
Mintay - In My Craftroom collection - #05
The photo below shows both sides of the papers:

Embellishments:
Simple Stories Simply Vintage Meadow Flowers Foam Stickers and Bits & Pieces, Cocoa Vanilla Storyteller Wood Epoxy Button, Little Birdie Flower, Marianne rosebuds, Rosie's Studio Belleview Butterfly, chipboard frame and jute twine.

Bazzill Basics Cardstock:
Touch of Pink and Lily Pond (in kit) and Bark, Evening Surf, Crepe and Wild Pansy (in extra pack)

Pick of the Patch - Florence at her Baby Sensory Group for Halloween.

I started this layout with the sheet of Bark Bazzill, gutted to make a 1" frame. I cut a piece of
Seeds of Kindness paper to measure 11" x 6", distressed the edges and placed it to the right of the page.

Then I cut 4 - 11" strips of
Woodgrained paper, distressed all the edges and overlapped these to fill the left side of the page. The result leaves a border of about 0.5" of Bark Bazzill showing all around the edges.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to cut a decorative strip from another piece of Woodgrained paper, and placed this down the centre of the layout.

I mounted my photo onto a piece of Bark Bazzill and added this to the centre of the layout. Then  I rummaged in my flower stash, selected flowers and leaves, then arranged them in three clusters around the photo. The flower centres were created with a selection of brads.

The decorative strip was decorated with some metallic nail head stickers.

My title was cut from scraps of the Woodgrained paper and a set of Sizzix Thinlit dies called Delicate Alpha. The date was made with Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup Letter Stickers in Gold.

I finished off with a little journalling and some Simple Stories Simply Vintage Meadow Flowers Foam Stickers from the kit.

Hello Lovely - My daughter and granddaughter in Greenwich Park looking over London.

I based this layout on the sheet of Sweet Notes paper from 49 and Market, I love all the images already layered on this paper, so simply added to it with items from the kit and my stash.

I used the chipboard frame and the jute twine from the kit to mount my photo. I painted the chipboard with Brushed
Corduroy Distress Paint, then dry brushed over with some Walnut Stain Distress Paint.

I attached large eyelets to the two holes on the chipboard frame and another one to each side of the page. With the twine I joined up the eyelets. I tied off with a bow on the left side.

I added the date to the frame using Sizzix Thinlits Tim Holtz Alphanumeric die set and scraps from the Woodgrained paper.

On my recent visit to Papermaze I purchased some 49 and Market Krafty Garden Acetate Assortment, and the Laser Cut Wildflowers, and I used some of each of these packs to embellish the layout. The title was also from the acetate assortment.

Journalling was written onto scraps of Seeds of Kindness paper, cut into strips, inked and added to the right of the page under the title.

That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.
