April Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Lynn here today, sharing the layouts I have created using the beautiful April Papermaze Kit.  The kit is full of pretty purple, lilac and grey papers. There is also a selection of embellishments and Bazzill cardstock to compliment the papers.

Here are the first two of my layouts, but first let's see what you will find in the kit:

Uniquely Creative - Floral Archives collection - Pretty Pollinators
Uniquely Creative - Ultra Violet Delight collection - Layers in Lilac
Uniquely Creative - Bohemian Escape collection - Lazy Afternoon
49 and Market - Plume & Petal collection - Joy & Bliss
Mintay Papers - Man Cave collection - #5

The photo below shows both sides of the papers:

Embellishments: Laser Cut Wildflowers, Foam Stickers Dreamer, Little Birdie Butterfly, Little Birdie Flowers, Simple & Basic Dots, P13 Word Stickers & Ribbon

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Whirlpool, Touch of Pink (included in Kit), StonewashVelvet, Date Swirl & Heidi.

The Ritz - My sister and her husband on a family trip to The Ritz to celebrate Mum's 80th Birthday.

To make this layout work, I used a sheet of scrap 12" x 12" paper, on which to build my background. I trimmed the
Lazy Afternoon paper to 12" x 8" and placed this across the centre of the scrap paper. Then I tore two pieces from the Layers in Lilac paper, (12" x 3" across the top and 12" x 4"vfor the bottom). I inked the edges and curled back the torn edges.

I placed the photo in the centre without sticking the very edges, so I could tuck embellishments under later.

I decorated the layout, using some of the 49 and Market - Plume and Petal Laser Cut Wildflowers from the kit, and more from my own Elements from the same collection. This included the grand piano, and trellis.

For the title I used an Art Deco font and cut the three layers using the Cricut. I chose some metallic gold card together with the
Velvet & Heidi Bazzill from the kit.

I also used some gold letter stickers from my stash, and some of the P13 Word Stickers from the kit.

The Wedding of Douglas and Dorothy - This time I made a heritage layout using a photo found on ancestry of a 1930s wedding. The couple are ancestors of my mother and details will be on my blog).

The base for this layout is the Heidi Bazzill from the kit. I added distressed strips of Joy paper.
I cut the paper to 11.5" x 1.75", distressed the edges and arranged them across the Bazzill.

I arranged the photo and all the embellishments, before gluing anything in place.

I made a few tags, cutting them with the Tim Holtz - Sizzix Framelits - Tag Collection die set. I tied a selection of purple and lilac DMC embroidery threads and some gold metallic thread, through the holes in the tags. The papers were scraps from the first layout, featured above.

I used several pieces from the 49 and Market - Plume and Petal Laser Cut Elements pack, including the large open circle. I backed the circle with some white card and added part of my title. The title was cut from Velvet Bazzill and three sets of dies from Tonic Studios - Windsor Simple Type - Upper case, Lower case and Numbers. The names were placed on the circle and it was further embellished with more of the laser cut elements. This was then attached to two of the tags and a heart shaped doily.

I placed the photo with two small tags peeping from the top, adding the die-cut date, another heart shaped doily and some laser cut feathers.

I stuck all the elements into place, and added the first part of the title to the top left of the page.

I found some purple and lilac gems and pearls in my stash and scattered these about on the tags. Finally, I used a few P13 Word Stickers from the kit.

That's all for today, I will be back with two more layouts from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.

January Papermaze Kit

Lynn here today, sharing the DT layouts I have made with the January Papermaze kit. The lovely colours in this kit lend themselves beautifully to winter and Christmas layouts.

Before looking at how these layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit:

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Vicki Boutin - Curiosities in Willow Grove - Starters Paper 7
49 and Market - Vicki Boutin - Mistletoe & Memories - Staples Paper 5
Mintay Papers - Cottage Heart - #04 & #06
Echo Park - Snow Day - Cozy Plaid
Graphic 45 - Deck the Halls - Calm and Bright

The photo below shows both sides of the patterned papers:

Embellishments:
Pink Paislee - 5th & Monaco - Puffy Words
Craft Consortium - Enamel Dots
Rosie's Studio - Full of Wonder - Snowflake
Nellies Choice - Snowflake Stamps
Buttons Galore Sparklets - Starry Sky
Prima - The Home Baker - Ephemera
Super Ribbons - Blue Ribbon

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Touch of Pink, Evening Surf (included in kit), Jade, Aqua, Twill and Coconut Swirl.

Happy Moments - A moment in time captured by my daughter, of her daughter playing .

I started by creating my plaid border, to do this I gutted the EP Cozy Plaid paper. I saved the centre piece for use later on. Then I trimmed the Mintay #06 paper, to measure 11" x 11", and distressed the edges.

Using a large heart template I made for the purpose, I drew the shape onto the scrips side of the #06 paper with pencil. Then with a pack of 49 and Market Vintage Artistry - Serenity Rub-ons and the Rub-ons Transfer sets; I rubbed some blots and phrases onto the paper. I chose a larger phrase for the title.

I printed my photos with white borders, and arranged these diagonally across the page. From the remains of the Cozy Plaid paper, I cut two pieces 2" x 5" and distressed the edges. With these pieces blue side up, I placed one, tucked behind the top and bottom two photos. The paper and photos were stuck into place.

I raided my stash and found gems and pearls in shades of gold, brown, blue and white. I stuck these close together along the pencil lines.

Tree Shopping Together - A family tradition, to go Christmas tree shopping on 1st December.

The background for this layout is the Starters Paper 7 paper, I chose the side with the trees printed down the right of the sheet.

Using my Cricut I cut a Peartree Cutfile (Winter Branches Wreath), in two sizes, both from the Jade Bazzill from the kit. I also cut a large star using the kit's Aqua Bazzill. To create the effect of a dusting of snow, rather than a complete covering, I dabbed the wreaths and star with an Emboss It Clear Dabber. I sprinkled and heat embossed Stampendous Frantage Shabby White Embossing Enamel.

I cut a smaller star with some rose gold glitter card from my stash. I flicked some white acrylic paint over both stars. I tied some ivory organza ribbon around the star, creating a bow at the front. I added a die cut snowflake from a previous Papermaze kit, and a gold wire and bead holly bough from an old Christmas card.

I mounted my photo onto white card and trimmed to make a narrow border. From last month's kit, I  selected  a tag from Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Believe collection - Tag Elements sheet. I inked the edges with Forest Moss Distress Ink, punched a hole in the top and threaded some jute twine through, then tied it in a bow.

I used the tag for my title, made with 49 and Market Evergreen Season - Chipboard words. From this collection I also selected the snowflakes.

At this point I glued everything in place. Further embellishments were made with white pearls, added to the larger wreath and three wooden trees.

For the date, I used more of the Jade Bazzill and Sizzix Thinlits Alphanumerics 'Label' die set.

That's all for today, back with more from this kit soon.
Thank you for looking.

July Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today, sharing the second pair of layouts using the pretty Papermaze kit for July. This kit is packed with soft, natural colours and includes double-sided patterned papers,  Bazzill Basics cardstock and a whole bunch of co-ordinating embellishments. There is also a pack of matching Bazzill Basics sheets, available to compliment the kit.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit.

The photo below shows both sides of the papers.

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Joanne Bain - Little Celebrations - Whimsy & Luminous
P13 - Beautiful Moments - #02 & #06
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Woodlands - Let's Explore
Stamperia - Timeless Collection - Roses Tapestry

Embellishments:

P13 - Chipboard Circles
G45 - Pearls
Prima - Return to Wonderland - 2 Vintage Wonderland Frames
Prima - A Mermaid's Tail - Flower
49 and Market - Moonlit Garden - washi tape - stamps
12" Lace

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Lagoon, Pigment (included in Kit), Tutu Pink, Powder Blue, Star Dust & Cinnamon Stick (in Extra pack).

A Mother's Love - This photo goes back to my wedding day (41 years ago), and shows Mum and me on the patio in her garden just before leaving home for the church.

In order to use both sides of this paper, I needed a 12" x 12" sheet of scrap paper, to mount the cut pieces onto. I cut P13 - Beautiful Moments - #06 in half to give me two pieces 12" x 6", and placed them onto the scrap paper, and stuck them in place. I covered the join in the paper with the cream lace from the kit.

From the Stamperia - Timeless Collection - Roses Tapestry I cut two pieces, 6" x 4", and mounted them on the top half of the page to show both side of the paper. These were overlapping one another, and created a backdrop for the photo.

I mounted the photo on a scrap of Star Dust Bazzill, gutted from a previous layout. and placed this in the centre of the page.

I used a Dusty Attic chipboard piece - 'A mother's Love', and prepared it with a coat of Gesso. Over this I applied Distress inks, then a coat of Glossy Accents. This was placed at the bottom right of the layout.

From the kit, I selected a few of the Tim Holtz - Idea-ology clippings - Stickers and placed them to the right of the photo. Then above this, I used one the P13 - Chipboard Circles and the three 49 and Market - Moonlit Garden - washi tape - stamps

With a pack of 49 and Market - One Perfect Day, Laser Cut Out Wildflower, I selected three clusters of flowers, and a few leaf fronds, I used 3D foam pads to apply these around the page.
From the
Let's Explore paper I cut some tiny butterflies and scattered these over the page, together with the gold and silver G45 Pearls from the kit.

Red Roses for a Blue Lady - My daughters dressed up for their ballet dance to this song at their annual dance school show.

For this layout I used a Sketch from Paper Issues.

I cut two hearts from the remains of Roses Tapestry paper, I mounted the smaller floral one over the larger green heart. I inked all the edges and placed this to the top left of the sheet of P13 - Beautiful Moments - #02.

I mounted my photos onto some text from an old gardening book I purchased from a charity shop years ago and use for scrapbooking. I inked the edges of these mounts and fanned the photos out across the heart.

I used a doily under the photos, and made a tag from the Pigment Bazzill, for my journalling. I tied some fine, red, jute twine through the hole in the tag, and made a bow. I stuck this to the doily. I cut another doily in half and tucked it under the mount, to the right of the photos.

I made three clusters of red and white paper roses selected from my stash. I punched leaf fronds to add to these clusters using an old Martha Stewart punch.

From the Let's Explore paper; I cut two butterflies and added one to the tag and another to the half doily.  For the title I used some Paige Evans Sugarplum Wishes mini puffy alpha stickers
I also used some Doodlebug Designs Teensy Type alphabet stickers. Finally, I used the black G45 Pearls from the kit.

That's all for today, I'll be back with the August kit in a few weeks.

Thanks for looking.
