Basic Grey OFFBEAT

As soon as I saw this brightly coloured new OFFBEAT range from Basic Grey, I knew I had to get my hands on it. There are so many fun colours and patterns in the range.
So when Vanessa asked me what papers I would like to have a play with, it had to be these.
These are the items I used for this layout...

The first thing I did was to mat both my photos onto white cardstock, leaving a very small border.
I then inked all around the edges- this was only to define them, so I held the inkpad (I used a Cats Eye Chalk pad in Dark Brown)

Next I cut two fairly narrow strips (about an inch wide)of the stripey Easy Goingpaper.
I then cut scallops along one edge of each strip using the large size EK Success Corner Rounder/Scallop Edge punch.

I cut a large piece of the Atypical paper the full width of the page, and about 8 inches high.
Ink the edges of this piece, and the edges of the two scalloped stripey strips.
I then stuck these onto the green piece of cardstock.

The title for this layout is a quote from a Dr. Seuss book, so I thought if I can't make this a bit fun, when could I?
So using the Peculiar paper, I cut some freehand large curved shapes using my craft knife.

As always I inked the edges of these.
After sticking them down onto my page, I stuck down the two photos.
The first was stuck down using double sided tape, the second I lifted a bit by sticking down with sticky foam pads.

I then started work on my title.
For the large word YOU I used the Elbow Mini Monogram alphabet stickers, and I defined the edges using a brown Zig Millenium pen. I wanted to raise these letters from the page for more depth, so stuck them on with foam pads.

For the rest of the title I used the Offbeat Nanoset alpha stickers. Agaon, as I wanted these defined to stand out better on the page, I outlined them in pen, but also mounted them onto pieces of white cardstock.

I wanted the YOUER word to stand out even more, so took one of the journaling stickers from the Offbeat Element stickers sheet, and stuck it onto that.
The tiny alpha stickers at the bottom that say who the quote is by, are Making memories Tiny Alpha stickers... I can't get enough use out of these useful little stickers.

Lastly I decorated the page with some of the other elements stickers.
For some of these I used foam pads under parts of them to give a more interesting dimensional look.

Here is a close-up of the page...

And lastly the complete page....

And after having fun creating the first page, I made another using the same items...

Nope.... it's a quote from a Dr. Seuss book... so therefore it doesn't have to make sense!! lol :oD
