August kit take 2

Being the crafter that I am I don't always buy kits as some of the product enclosed just isn't my style....so, what to do with paper and cardstock that you've been given or bought that really isn't you anymore?

Get out the inks...

This is what I've created with a pink piece of the cardstock in the main August kit...

After cutting my card stock to size I've spritzed the three different dylsuion spray inks....blotted, then sprayed again, using paint I've added rings, and then using a brick prima stamp I've added a few stamped images.  The butterflies from the kit and the wooden button have all been spritzed with the inks.... The centre piece is another one of the rubons with a flower cut from glassine paper using the tattered florals die and again coloured using dylsions inks...

inside:-
I've created some sections using some more sprayed cardstock so that goodies can be placed inside, either for a gift or for storage.

Using the Tim Holtz tag die I cut a tag from a piece of the patterned paper...

using the summer distress inks I've added a bit of colour.....The rosette was made using a further piece of the same paper coloured with the distress inks.....the centre was hi-lighted by added glossy accents to create a raised dome.  The centre of the book plate (cut along with the tag) was cut into a tag and adhered to the top of the tag...the birdcage was cut from another piece of the paper in the kit....the trim at the bottom is by Tando Creative and has been coloured with the distress inks, doodled and crackle glaze added.

I've still got loads of pieces of card and paper left for other projects.

Miss Caroline Gift Set

Doesn't it make a difference when you receive a gift and it's beautifully wrapped?!!

When I give a gift I like to make an effort to make the wrapping look really pretty.
I love seeing a friend's or family member's face light up when I present something that looks like I've put a lot of thought and effort in.

It was a close friend's birthday recently, so I thought I'd make her a gift bag to match her card.
I always keep decent bags so I can use them for this.

I used the MME - Miss Caroline 6x6 pad for both. These pads are such a prefect size for these kind of projects.
With these MME collections, there are so many bits and pieces that you can buy to match so it makes projects very easy to embellish.
Quite often I make a LO or two when I first receive my goodies and then use up the leftovers on creating cards and gifts bags.
I love the sticker sheets that you can buy to match aswell.
They make the perfect finishing touch.

Remember to keep your gift/paper bags in future and tart them up with your leftovers : )

Summer mini book

This is the piece I created for our first bloghop...the theme of the hop was to use the August kit using the theme of Summer

Here is the kit:-

There are six doubled sized 12x12 papers, 12x 12 sheets of bazzil cardstock, pack of rub ons and a selection of prima flowers, lettering, buttons, pouch, pin and other goodies (contents on the embellishments vary), there is also an add on cardstock pack ...as you go around the bloghop you will see all of us using this kit in our own style.  I've created this:-

...its a little book to record your summer, places for piccies and journalling and general notes - the basis of the book was made by using the kraft cardstock, in the additional paper pack, and cutting it using a die cutter into four pages....the pages were then covered using multi-medium and various papers from within the kit.  The front page has some Tando Creative mini flowers, leaves and a bird, all of these were coloured using the summer distress inks - all have been outlined in black, the flowers have had white hi-lights added, the branch has had a coat of matte glaze, whilst the leaves and bird have had a coat of crackle glaze.  A rub on from the kit was added to a piece of cardstock for the central point.

Pages 2 and 3 - these have been spritzed using the dylusions inks to give the background a splattered look - page two's embellishments have been created by cutting out images from a sheet of the cardstock, distressing and inking the edges and stickles added....the bling is by Prima (and one of my fav's).  Page three has a mat of cardstock and the little envelope added, inside is a tag which has been coloured using the distress inks....one of the flowers with punched out leaves and the pin finish off the page.

Page 4 and 5 - page four has a space ready for a picture.  One of the word rub ons has been added and a spritz of ink - page 5 is the larger envelope which has been spritzed with the spray inks and a rub on added, this also has tags of differing lenths for daily notes, these have been numbered.

Page 6 and 7 - page 6 is for picutes. Page 7 - I placed the white lettering from the kit straight onto the page and sprtized four colours of ink over them.  Leaving them for a few moments before lifting the lettering leaving a stencilled effect - I also have the lettering for another project.

This is the back page - using contrasting cardstock and a rub on - edges have been inked using the distress inks.

Hope that you like my project!

August crop kit...

The time has come around again for the monthly crop in Otley Village Hall on Saturday. This month, the kit has been put together with the new Carta Bella paper 'Paris Girl'

I've used a winter photo but any 10 x 15 cm sized photo will go, probably preferably black and white.  There is a bit of misting, and some fussy cutting, along with some simple distressing. The only thing besides a photo you will need to add is your own title letters.

There are still some places left so we look forward to seeing you there!

July Card Sketch

Hi everyone! It's Amanda back again with the July card sketch for you :)

I flipped the sketch onto its side to create my card...

I created the patchwork background and used an image from my papers instead of the label design on the sketch. I love making patchwork backgrounds as it gives me a chance to use up pretty patterned scraps :) The papers I used here are October Afternoon 'Cake Walk', plus a little Prima flower. All the supplies can be found in the shop.

Thanks for stopping by! See you next month with some new sketches.

July layout sketch

It's a little late due to the blog hop we've just had, but finally here is Amanda's latest sketch!

Hello :) It's Amanda here to share with you the July page sketch.

Although I created the sketch for 4 photos, I decided to try it out with one large narrow picture instead - I love how it turned out! I'm definitely a 1-photo girl at heart ;)

I love the Carta Bella 'Beautiful Moments' collection and it was perfect for scrapping one of my wedding pictures.

As I didn't have any coordinating washi tape I decided to make my own by cutting some strips of patterned paper and adding them above the picture along with a piece of border sticker.
.

Beneath the photo I used stickers and a journaling card from the same collection, along with a Prima flower. The flowers and the Carta Bella goodies are all in the shop :)

I hope you like the sketch, I'll be back soon with a new card sketch!

Hi and welcome to the Papermaze blog hop.

Every month someone who works at the shop or on the design team, puts together a kit, which shows off their style and their favorite projects. This gives you a different range of kits and styles for you to play around with.

This month it was Wendy's turn and she put together this really beautiful summer kit, using lots of Basic Grey, Crate Paper and simple Stories.

Here is the kit...

And you may have seen these two pages made using it...

So today we have a blog hop though all of our designers and some special guest designers as well....so what do you have to do?...

Well you start here and you go from blog to blog and enjoy the the projects that the girls have made...making sure to leave a comment on their blogs.... Then you come back here and make your last comment...YOU WILL ONLY BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAWING IF YOU COMMENT ON ALL THE BLOGS AND THEN ON THIS ONE.

August kit...2nd project.

Hi all...I am back today to show you the other page that I did using the gorgeous August kit.

I loved the vellum envelope in the kit...in this page I wanted to use it as a little confetti envelope , which is really popular right now.
I had some of the little paper clips left over from one of the other kits and had to use it on this little heart to keep everything together.

You can find this kit here...don't forget to come back next week, as we are having a blog hop and the winner will win an August kit!

August kit...

Morning everyone...I cannot believe that August is here already!
Today we are starting off the summer month here on the blog with the very very pretty August kit. It features lots of beautiful pinks and yellows....so pretty. Crate paper and some pretty sheets from the Basic grey line Country Cottage. ( please note that the flowers and the paper journaling card holder will vary)

and a photo of the embellishments close ups...those prima flowers are so gorgeous!

Also, as usual we have an add on cardstock pack...which includes 4 sheets of co - ordinatin cardstock.
( the kraft is not as dark as this in real life)

The title that has been cut out of white card is...'hello sunshine' cut out in white so you can add colour your own colour using paints or inks etc....it also includes lots of vellum butterflies...( they are fairly hard to see in this photo. It comes including 2 sheets of cardstock...white and aqua.

This kit is going up sometime today...you will be able to find it here. If you see that the kit has sold out, we always re stock fairly quickly so check back or email and let us know that you want one.

I have two pages to show you using this kit so come back tomorrow to check the first one out. We are also doing the first ever Papermaze blog hop next week...with a chance to win this kit! so don't forget to check back.
