The Basic Grey Capella collection has been designed with a wedding theme, but when I saw the colours, I realised they would be ideal for an off-the-page project I had in mind.
A couple of years ago, I bought some large MDF letters at a craft show, spelling the word 'HOME', and I just hadn't got round to doing anything with them. I decided to finally dig them out:
I was only going to cover the top surface with paper, so I painted the edges using cream acrylic paint to disguise the MDF:
I coated the top surface with PVA glue, and stuck it down onto a piece of my chosen paper:
and then cut around the edge with scissors (I used small scissors for the fiddly bits, you could also use a craft knife):
Here is the finished result in pride of place on top of my living room door:
I had originally wondered if I might embellish the letters, but once they were covered, I decided I liked them just the way they were. Simple but effective!
