Having a Little Fun

Hello,

It's Lisa here today.
I have to say, I do love being silly and having fun.
We have a lovely group of friends and we take it in turns hosting evenings and little parties between us four couples. The kids all go upstairs together and play and us grown ups have nice food, chat and have a laugh.
It's our turn and I'm throwing a 'Valentine's Dinner Party'. I do tend to go OTT. I don't just want to make good food. I like to go the full hog and make invites, table favours, menus, dress up and play silly games.

Have you seen the resent Crate collection 'Fourteen'?
It's just screaming 'Valentines'. So I thought it would be fun to make some stationery using these pretty papers.

I've printed the invites on to 6x4'' card. Some ribbon that I had leftover in my ribbon stash jars has been stuck to the card and then stuck on to another piece of card and trimmed down.

I cut out the hearts from the Crate paper and attached to the ribbon with a little wooden peg.

Have you ever tried the Ranger Distress Stains before? I highly recommend.
I love these so much and they are so easy to use and cover up so well. There's a little sponge on the top when you take off the lid and you press down on to the item you are wanting to stain and brush over. As easy as that! I've used the white stain - Picket Fence- on these pegs. They work so well on wooden embellishments, chipboard etc.. and it's a really fast way to get some good coverage. There are so many colours available too which is great.

I've edged everything with a pink Distress Ink and finished off with some sparkley Stickles.
I use this stuff so much. I love that extra sparkle.

I've also made place cards to match in the same way.

Sometimes it's really fun to use your supplies in a way other than scrapbooking and making cards. It feels quite refreshing and friends and family really appreciate these special little touches too.

Whilst I was making this stationery I quickly made this little Valentines card for hubby.

We don't usually do cards, but with these pretty papers and stickers, I just couldn't resist.
I added a heart topped pin through the paper heart.

So....what can I make for my table favours then????
Thanks for stopping by today x
