Good Vibes - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Collection

 Hi everyone,

It’s Rebecca here today, and I’m excited to share my final layout using the Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe collection by Simple Stories. This collection has been such a joy to work with—especially now, as the sun is shining brighter and flowers are beginning to bloom again! You can find the full collection available in the shop here.

For today’s layout, I started by cutting three squares from two different patterned papers. I chose designs that complemented the colours in my photo, then trimmed the photo itself to match the same shape and size. I arranged all four squares in a diamond pattern in the centre of a sheet of Premium White Cardstock. Because of the direction we’re facing in the photo, I positioned it to the left—this way, our bodies are angled inward, drawing the eye toward the heart of the page.

One of my favourite Simple Stories products has always been the Foam Stickers—I love the mix of fonts and styles. For this layout, I picked a title sticker and placed it on the right-hand square to create a sense of balance across the design.

Having already used many of the large florals from the Floral Bits & Pieces pack, I flipped through what I had left and pulled a few smaller blooms. To stretch the collection even further, I turned to the 'Beautiful' patterned paper and fussy-cut some additional floral clusters. This is such a great way to get more from your stash!

I built two main floral clusters using a mix of those fussy-cut florals and smaller ephemera, adding foam pads for dimension. I also added a bold piece from the Bits & Pieces to the top cluster and a large Cardstock Sticker to anchor the bottom cluster.

To create a sense of movement across the page, I fussy-cut butterflies from the 'Dreamer' patterned paper and arranged them in a gentle cascade. I always attach butterflies by gluing just the body, leaving the wings free for a lovely 3D effect—almost as if they’ve just fluttered down and landed on the page.

Although I loved how the layout was coming together, the outer edges felt a little too bare. Instead of framing the whole page, I opted for thin, torn strips of patterned paper along two edges. It adds a bit of visual interest without overwhelming the centre. A couple of smaller Foam Stickers were the perfect finishing touch.

Thanks so much for joining me today. I've truly enjoyed working with this beautiful collection, and I hope my layouts have inspired you to dive into your own creative projects!

Take care,
Rebecca xx

Blue Skies - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Collection

Hi Friends!

It’s Rebecca here on the blog today. I absolutely loved working with the Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe collection last month, so much so that I decided to continue creating with it this month! It’s the perfect collection for this time of year, and I’m having so much fun with it. It’s a stunning spring collection from Simple Stories, and you can find it in the shop here.

For today’s layout, I started by cutting several circles from patterned papers using a set of metal nesting dies. I arranged four circles horizontally across the centre of a sheet of Premium White Cardstock, leaving a gap in the middle for my photo. Since I had cut the circles from the patterned papers, I wanted my photo to be circular as well. To help it stand out, I backed it with a larger circle of patterned paper and raised it up using foam.

Once the circles and photo were in place, I picked two words from the Foam Stickers for the title. I placed one above and one below the photo for added interest.

Next, I added a few florals from the Floral Bits & Pieces, creating three small, subtle clusters on the page.

To extend the layout vertically, I fussy cut several butterflies in different colours and sizes from the 'Dreamer' patterned paper and arranged them cascading down the page through the photo.

Feeling that the layout was a little top-heavy, I decided to tear the bottom section of the white cardstock, and back the area with patterned paper to bring some colour to the bottom of the layout.

I finished the layout with a couple of Cardstock Stickers, raised up on foam pads. I love the simplicity of this design and how beautifully the butterflies flow down the centre of the page.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you like my layout and that it inspires you to start creating.

Take care,

Rebecca xx

Big Moments - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Collection

Hi everyone,

It’s Rebecca here, and today I’m excited to share my second layout of the month using the gorgeous Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe collection from Simple Stories. With the first signs of Spring finally upon us, it feels like the perfect time to showcase this beautiful collection. You can find it in the shop here.

For this layout, I was drawn to the Polaroid frames from the Captured patterned paper. I decided to fussy cut a few in a variety of colours and arranged them in a vertical design, slightly overlapping, on a sheet of Premium White Cardstock. To extend the design horizontally, I added the scalloped border sticker from the Cardstock Stickers and a similar one from the Ephemera pack, positioning them across the Polaroid frames.

The space in the centre of the frames was the perfect spot for my photo, so I mounted it using a patterned paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad. To add extra detail, I tucked a few elements from the Ephemera pack behind the photo for more texture and dimension.

As someone who absolutely loves viewfinders, I was thrilled to find a few on the papers in this collection. I fussy cut one from the corner of the Treasure paper and placed it to the left of my photo, which helped add visual interest to that side of the layout. Since I planned to position my title on the right, the viewfinder was the perfect touch to balance the overall design.

For the title, I chose an element from the Bits & Pieces pack. After raising it up with foam pads for dimension, I placed it beneath my photo.

To further enhance the page, I added a few clusters of florals from the
Floral Bits & Pieces and fussy cut some butterflies from the Dreamer patterned paper. Fussy cutting is such a fantastic way to stretch a collection and create additional embellishments!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my layouts this month. I have a couple more to share, so be sure to keep an eye out for those! This collection is selling quickly, so don’t miss your chance to grab it in the shop before it's gone!

Take care,

A Beautiful Life - Simple Stories - Remember Collection

Hi everyone, it's Rebecca back with you sharing my second layout created with the Remember collection from Simple Stories. I am absolutely loving creating with this beautiful collection, which you can find in the shop here. It's one of those truly beautiful collections that can be used to document and honour loved ones we've lost, or the everyday moments in life.

I really wanted to use the Beautiful Legacy patterned paper, but it's quite a busy paper to use in its entirety, so I cut a semi circle from it and placed it in the centre of my Premium White Cardstock. I love the contrast of the darker paper against the clean white background.

I fussy cut the filmstrip from the Always Remember paper and placed it going vertically down the centre of the page alongside a strip of patterned paper. On top of this, I added my title - a die cut from the Bits and Pieces pack.

On top of these strips, I added my photo, matted on a section of patterned paper. I love how all the papers match the colours in my photo.

To the left of the composition, I added one of the tags from the Tag Elements patterned paper, and extended this cluster using some of the Floral Bits and Pieces.

It was starting to feel like the layout was very left-heavy, so I added a couple of fussy cut butterflies to the right, and then added some Nuvo Crystal Drops following the curve of the semi circle. I used the shade 'Wedgewood Blue' as it matches the blue florals in the collection perfectly.

I hope you've enjoyed this layout and it gives you some inspiration. I've thoroughly enjoyed creating with the Remember collection, and I love that I've used it to document everyday moments and memories. Don't forget to check out the full collection in the shop.

Take care,

Remember Family is Forever - Simple Stories - Remember Collection

Hi everyone, it's Rebecca with you today and I'm really excited to be sharing my first layout using Simple Stories new Remember collection. It's a stunning collection full of beautiful colours and elements. It's the perfect collection for documenting memories and honouring those who are no longer with us, but it's also versatile enough to document the everyday moments as I've done here. You can find it in the shop here.

I started by cutting hexagons from 3 of the patterned papers. I chose papers which had colours to match my photo, selecting one stronger pattern (the hearts) and two more subtle papers. After arranging the hexagons horizontally across the page, I liked the way they looked and decided to add a hint of mixed media to my background. Very faintly with a pencil, I drew around the outer edges of the hexagons so I knew where to add the colour. I rummaged through my stash of Distress Oxide Ink Pads and settled on 'Iced Spruce'. Using a Tim Holtz texture stamp, I added the colour to my background.

Once the ink was dry, I adhered the hexagons to the page with a layer of adhesive foam behind them to help lift the layout a bit and introduce some dimension. I then positioned my photo off centre and with a layer of navy Bazzill Cardstock behind it to help it 'pop' off the page.

As is always the case with Simple Stories - the Floral Bits and Pieces in this collection are elegant and beautiful. I chose several of the larger floral elements and arranged them in 3 clusters to create a 'visual triangle' around my photo.

For my title, I reached for my favourite Simple Stories product - the Foam Stickers. I always love the different fonts and styles and the versatile titles. I extended my title using one of the phrases from the Cardstock Stickers so my title became 'Remember Family is Forever'.

With all the larger elements in place, I shifted my focus to the smaller, finishing details. I fussy cut a few butterflies from the Beyond Blessed patterned paper and added these with the wings folded up, and then finished off with a couple of small floral stickers and some Enamel Dots.

Thanks so much for reading. I really hope you've enjoyed this layout and it inspires you to create with this wonderful collection.

Cocoa Vanilla Studio ~ Happy Days #1 🦋

Hello! It’s Anna back with you today!
This month I’m working with Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s Happy Days collection. You can see it in the Papermaze online shop here

For my first layout, I focused on using the speciality paper with gold foil. A beautiful paper with lots of frames, just crying out to be fussy cut! So that’s exactly what I did! I cut out nine different frames, all of which were the square and rectangle shapes.

I added my photos behind some of the frames and adhered some patterned paper from the collection to the remaining three frames.

I cut out a few elements from ‘Feel Good’ including the journalling card.
I arranged the frames and journal cards on a sheet of white bazzill cardstock, moving them around to try and find the best fit.

I cut out the word ‘lovely’ from ‘definitive’ and some of the florals from ‘lush blooms

Once everything was starting to come together on my page I adhered everything to the background cardstock. I then started to embellish the frames with the patterned paper. I added a gold foiled butterfly from the speciality paper to one. A butterfly from ‘flutterby’ for another and some phrase stickers from the accessory stickers to another.
I added the florals and some more accessory stickers to my layout to fill in some of the gaps around the frames.

Thanks so much for looking!
I’ll be back later in the month with another layout using this collection.
See you then!

Anna

Paige Evans ~ Blooming Wild 🦋

Hello everyone, welcome back to the Papermaze blog.
It’s Anna back with you today, and I’m happy to be sharing my second layout using Paige Evans’ latest collection, Blooming Wild.
You can find this lovely collection in the shop here

To create this page I began with the ‘b’ side of Paper #5 as my base. I set my silhouette cameo to work to cut out a Paige Evans butterfly cutfile. I cut this out of white cardstock, but I added two shades of Distress Ink to achieve the shade of Green I wanted.

Once my delicate cutfile was safely stuck down, I selected my photos. I had some pictures from a butterfly garden in Walt Disney World, so I chose a few and trimmed them down to fit in some of the gaps around the cutfile.

I fussy cut lots of butterflies from Paper #16 and adhered them over some of the butterflies on my cutfile.

I added some of the cardstock stickers tucked in around my photos and cutfile.

I added a title using some Pinkfresh alpha stickers

I finished with adding a boarder sticker from the cardstock stickers to the left hand side of my layout.

Thanks so much for looking!

See you next month!

Rosie's Studio Ephemera Projects

Hello there, it is Julie here with some projects using the wonderful Rosie's Studio ephemera.  These cardstock ephemera packs are filled with approximately 160 pieces, 2 of each shape that can be used as accents on scrapbook projects, cards and altered pieces.  The ephemera pieces vary in size from beautiful floral background pieces to tiny accents such as hearts, bees and ladybirds.  These packs are great value for money and can be used with co-ordinating Rosie's studio paper as well as other collections.  You can find Rosie's studio here.

I have been experimenting with several ephemera packs and made some lovely projects as Easter gifts. Firstly I made some Easter egg shaped rosettes using my Cricut and layered pieces from the Simply Charming ephemera set on top of the rosette.  I used a frame as a background shape and layered a piece of ephemera with a row houses using foam strips and then cut a piece of bunting ephemera in half and layered it on top.

I felt there was a little something missing so I found a great leaf accent and tucked it into the background to create a little more depth to the piece.  I dotted a couple of sequins on top with wet glue to add a little sparkle.

The second egg I created I added pieces from the beautiful One Of A Kind collection.  Gorgeous pastel colours with lots of whimsical butterflies, cakes and creatures.  I used a large egg rosette ephemera piece as a background and layered butterflies and a sweet little caterpillar on top,  I like to combine using foam tape and double sided tape to add a little height and texture to the pieces.

I also created two smaller egg rosettes and added ephemera from Brand New Day.  This collection has delicate watercolour flowers which work perfectly as backgrounds to these pieces.  Again, I layered the ephemera to create clusters to go on top of the egg.  I used to be quite worried about hiding ephemera pieces or cutting them but now feel confident in layering them up to create fuller clusters.

Lastly I made a mini pizza box in which I have put some sequins as a gift.  I used a cut file from Cricut design space and some Simple Stories paper to make the box.  I then added ephemera from One of a Kind and added some puffy pastel hearts from the same collection.  These hearts are a "must have", with 8 different pastel shades per sheet to co-ordinate with the collection.  I have used so many for different projects and still have lots left over.

I hope you liked my Easter projects, I will be back next month with some more ideas using Rosies studio ephemera.

Happy Day - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Life in Bloom Collection

Hello, it’s Rebecca with you today and I’m really excited to be sharing my first layout created with Simple Vintage Life in Bloom - another beautiful collection from Simple Stories. The colours in this collection, mixed with the pops of black, are just simply stunning and I’m loving creating with it. I’m also loving that there are some new products with this collection - including rub-ons, ephemera and washi tape! You can find the full collection in the shop now!

The patterned papers in this collection are beautiful, so I wanted to create a layout which showcased several of them. To do this, I decided to cut circles from several of the papers. I’m a sucker for circles and hexagons on a layout, and it’s my go-to technique when I want to use lots of different papers, without overcrowding the page and making it look too busy. To cut my circles, I used a set of metal nesting dies. These allowed me to easily cut several circles of varying sizes.

I arranged the circles on my background - offset slightly and more towards the right hand side of the page, and with a circular photo in the centre. I decided to go for a black and white photo today - mainly because there were so many different colours in the photo and I thought it would take away from the beautiful colours in the collection - but also because the collection has pops of black, and so a black and white photo seemed the obvious choice!

With my circles and photo in place, it was time to add my title. I selected the ‘Happy Day’ Foam Sticker as it describes the photo perfectly, but also because I felt it was well-suited to a circular photo and had a natural spot for the photo to nestle in.

Now it was time to add the beautiful florals! This collection is certainly not short of florals - it has floral patterned papers (perfect for fussy cutting), Floral Bits and Pieces and florals in the sticker book, so I was spoilt for choice. I selected a couple from the Floral Bits and Pieces, and some from the Sticker Book and arranged them around my circles.

I embellished further with a couple of fussy-cut butterflies from the ‘Shine Bright’ patterned paper, a few chipboard hearts from the chipboard stickers, and a couple of phrases from the element stickers.

As my design was offset towards the right of the page, it left me some space on the left, which I felt needed some colour. I tore a strip of floral patterned paper and layered it with some bazzill cardstock behind it for contrast. I then added a chipboard sticker and a tiny fussy cut butterfly to finish.

I absolutely adore how this layout turned out. I always love the Simple Vintage collections from Simple Stories but this has to be one of the most beautiful collections I’ve ever seen. It’s definitely love at first sight!

If you’d like to watch this layout come together, there is a process video over on my YouTube channel.

Thanks for reading, I’ll be back later in the month with another Life in Bloom layout.

Take care,

Rebecca x
