The Little Details - Uniquely Creative - Sweet as Honey Collection

It's Rebecca here on the blog today, and I'm excited to share a layout I've created using one of the newer Uniquely Creative collections – Sweet as Honey. I have such a soft spot for yellow on a scrapbook layout! It's not a colour you see used all that often, but I absolutely love working with it. With the collection featuring honey, bees and beautiful florals, it felt only right to create a layout using hexagons! I selected four different patterned papers and cut a variety of hexagons using my Sizzix Big Shot. I then layered the hexagons in groups of three, offsetting them slightly to add interest and dimension, before arranging them in a circular design in the centre of a sheet of Premium White Cardstock.

To continue the theme, I also cut my photo into a hexagon, making it slightly larger so it would become the focal point in the centre of the design. I wanted the photo to really stand out, so I backed it with brown Bazzill Cardstock to create a bold contrast against the softer colours in the collection.

Using the Creative Cuts Ephemera and Creative Cuts Vellum, I created two embellishment clusters that run diagonally across the photo. I love how easy the vellum pieces are to work with—the backing peels away effortlessly. I like to adhere them to white cardstock before fussy cutting them out, which gives them a little more stability and makes them easier to layer.

For my title, I chose one of the die-cut pieces from the Creative Cuts Ephemera, popping it up on foam adhesive to add extra dimension and help it stand out from the background.

To finish the layout, I added a couple of die-cut butterflies, gently bending up their wings to give them a more realistic look and a lovely sense of movement.

Happy - Uniquely Creative - Paperbark Blooms Collection

Hi everyone, it’s Rebecca here today sharing my first layout of the month. I’ve been having so much fun creating with the Paperbark Blooms collection from Uniquely Creative. It’s such a delicate and beautiful collection, and I love how versatile it is. You can find the full collection in the shop here.

To begin, I took a sheet of patterned paper from the 6x6 Collection Pack and placed it in the centre of a sheet of premium white cardstock at an angle. I then cut three smaller squares from two other patterned papers and arranged them horizontally across the larger square, keeping them at the same angle for a cohesive look. I added dimension by raising the smaller squares with adhesive craft foam — one of those scrapbook essentials I simply can’t live without!

To bring the whole design together, I matted my photo with the same woodgrain paper used for the outer squares, creating a nice sense of consistency and flow throughout the layout.

Next, I selected several floral die cuts from the Floral Creative Cuts and arranged them into two large clusters on either side of my photo. I’m a big fan of symmetry, so I always try to keep my clusters balanced where possible. One of the things I love about Uniquely Creative die cut packs is that they include two of each design, which makes creating symmetrical layouts so easy!

I chose my title from the Creative Cuts Ephemera and positioned it to the left of my photo. On the opposite side, I added the adorable koala die cut because he was sitting in a similar pose to my son in the photo — such a cute little detail!

To finish the layout, I added a couple of die cut butterflies and applied some Distress Oxide Ink in the shade “Tattered Rose” behind the patterned papers. This created a soft shadow effect around the edges of the design and helped add extra depth and softness to the page.

Discover - 49 and Market - The Looking Glass Collection

Hi everyone, Rebecca here! I’m a little later in the month than usual, as I was away for Easter visiting my parents. Being away means I’ve come back with lots of new photos to scrapbook—which is always a good thing!

This month, I’ve chosen to work with the 49 and Market The Looking Glass collection. During a recent day out at Blackgang Chine, we explored the park’s Nursery Rhyme section, where there are the sweetest little toadstool houses. They instantly made me think of this collection, so of course I asked Riley to pose in front of each one!

To begin, I cut out some of the larger frames from the cut-apart sheet included with the Laser Cut Wildflowers. I arranged these horizontally across the centre of a sheet of Premium White Cardstock, then extended the design on either side using smaller frames from the Laser Cut Elements. I used the central frame to house my photo and backed the medium-sized frames with patterned papers to add extra interest.

Next, I added some of the beautiful laser cut wildflowers, using larger pieces to build fuller clusters. I raised the florals with foam pads to introduce dimension and depth to the layout.

I couldn’t resist including a couple of the treehouse and toadstool designs—they complement the photo perfectly! I placed one on each side of the layout to create balance, then added smaller laser cut pieces around them to form cohesive clusters.

I always love using the Chipboard Assortment from 49 and Market collections—they’re often my go-to for titles. Here, I chose the word “Discover,” raised it with foam pads, and positioned it on the right-hand side of the page. To finish the embellishing, I added a couple of delicate butterfly laser cuts.

At this stage, I felt the page needed a little something extra. Rather than adding more embellishments, I opted for subtle mixed media. I often prefer to add this at the end, once my design is complete and I know exactly where it’s needed. To make this easier, I usually adhere my elements together first, but not to the background. This allows me to move everything aside in one piece, so I can work directly on the background without restriction.

For this layout, I used a Distress Oxide Ink Pad in the shade “Iced Spruce,” which perfectly matches the colour of my son’s coat and helps tie the whole page together. I applied the ink with a small brayer, rolling both vertically and horizontally to create soft, organic shapes. Once dry, I adhered everything in place using Double-Sided Tape.

Treasures of the Heart - 49 and Market - Nostalgic Memories Collection

Hi everyone, Rebecca here! Today I’m excited to share my second layout featuring the beautiful Nostalgic Memories collection from 49 and Market. I’ve absolutely loved how versatile this range is — it works perfectly for so many themes — and for this project I used it to document some recent autumn photos… taken at our local zoo!

To begin, I cut a large circle (approximately 7 inches across) and adhered it to the centre of a sheet of Premium White Cardstock, adding a layer of foam underneath for dimension. Whenever I use a larger piece as my base, I like to lift it slightly — it instantly adds depth and makes the design feel more dynamic.

In the centre of the circle, I layered some pieces from the Laser Cut Ephemera and placed my photo on top. I printed the photo twice (again!) and slightly overlapped them to create added interest and movement.

Above and below the photo, I tucked in torn strips of patterned paper. Because the circular background features a fairly solid design, I was able to choose a busier pattern for these strips to create contrast. On either side of the photo, I added Laser Cut Florals to form fuller embellishment clusters.

To build out those clusters further, I incorporated a few acetate pieces — pulled from other 49 and Market collections! The film strip is from Krafty Garden, and the leaf sprigs are from Color Swatch Terracota. That’s one of my favourite things about scrapbooking: there are no rules, and mixing collections adds so much personality to a layout.

To extend the clusters even more, I applied some Blendable Rub-On Transfers. 49 and Market Rub-Ons are honestly some of my favourites — they apply effortlessly and blend seamlessly into the background.

For the title, I chose a piece from the Chipboard Words that reads “Treasures of the Heart.” I love how the mix of fonts adds extra visual interest and complements the nostalgic feel of the collection.

To finish the layout, I adhered a couple of die-cut butterflies and created a delicate ring around the edge of the circle using Gold Crystal Nuvo Drops. This subtle detail helps frame the design and ties everything together beautifully.

Great Outdoors Adventure - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Woodlands Collection

It’s Rebecca here, sharing my second layout of the month with you. With the heat this week, it’s been lovely to escape indoors and scrap some cosy autumnal photos using the Simple Vintage Woodlands collection. You can check out the full Simple Stories collection here.

There are so many gorgeous patterned papers in this collection! After picking a few of my favourites, I cut them into 3.5 x 3.5-inch squares. I arranged them slightly off-centre and overlapped them a little to give the page a more relaxed, layered look. I then mounted my photo on white cardstock, followed by a darker patterned paper to create contrast, and placed it on top of the squares.

Next, I fussy-cut a couple of tags from the Tag Elements patterned paper, punched a gold metal eyelet through the top of each, and threaded some gold metallic thread through them for a touch of texture and shimmer.

For my title, I chose a Foam Sticker and placed it just beneath the photo, extending it with a die-cut phrase (from the Bits & Pieces) to read ‘Great Outdoors Adventure.’ I love mixing different textures and materials when building my titles — it adds so much interest and is always fun to experiment with!

I used Floral Bits & Pieces and Element Stickers to create clusters on either side of the photo. I chose several of the toadstool designs since we spotted so many of them on that woodland walk — such a fun way to bring the memory into the layout!

To finish the layout, I added a few fussy-cut butterflies and tore a section on the right side of the background. I backed the torn area with a coordinating patterned paper, which really helped balance the layout and tie everything together.

Beautiful - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Collection

Hi Friends!

Rebecca here, sharing my first layout of March with you today. With Spring just around the corner and the weather starting to warm up, it felt like the perfect time to create with one of the latest collections from Simple Stories—Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe. It’s a stunning collection that truly captures the essence of Spring! You can find the full collection in the shop here.

I was immediately drawn to several of the journal card images on the ‘Journal Elements’ patterned paper, so I decided to cut them out and layer them behind my photo. To add texture and depth, I distressed all the edges—one of my favorite techniques to elevate a page. I matted my photo with a soft pink patterned paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad and arranged these elements in the centre of a sheet of Bazzill White Cardstock.

At this stage, I still felt like something was missing, so I knew I needed to add a little more behind the photo. I chose two patterned papers—the B side of the '2x2 / 4x4 Elements' and the B side of ‘Memories’—and cut them down to 7x5 inches. I then used a paper punch to add a notebook edge along the tops. Once I arranged these elements at angles behind my photo, I was much happier with the layout.

With the larger pieces in place, it was time to move on to embellishing. I selected some beautiful floral pieces from the Floral Bits & Pieces and layered them around my photo, allowing some to peek out from behind the patterned papers. 

I also added a couple of tin buckets filled with flowers from the Cardstock Stickers sheet to bring in more texture and detail.

For the title, I chose the word “beautiful” from the Foam Stickers and placed it just beneath my photo for a balanced look.                                                                                                                                   

To add the finishing touch, I fussy cut a couple of butterflies from the 'Dreamer' paper and adhered only the centres, letting the wings flutter freely. This gives the impression that the butterflies have just landed on the layout, adding a bit of movement.

Wonderland - Stamperia - Create Happiness Dewdrops Collection

Hello Friends!

It’s Rebecca here on the blog today, and I’m excited to share my second layout of the month, created using the beautiful Create Happiness Dewdrops collection by Stamperia. I’m so glad I stepped outside my comfort zone and experimented with this collection—it’s been such a joy to work with! You can find the full collection in the shop here.

I’m absolutely smitten with the patterned papers in this collection. Many of them feature exquisite details along the edges, making them perfect for backgrounds. For this layout, I chose the Flower Corner paper, which has stunning florals and text running down the sides. It left a perfect open space in the center, giving me just the right area to build a central design.

I began by tearing a strip of the same paper—this time, using the beautiful woodgrain design on the reverse. I positioned this strip vertically down the centre and placed my photo (framed with one of the die cuts from the Adhesive Paper Ephemera) right on top.

To add some extra flair, I used a metal die to cut out a viewfinder shape from the Wood paper. After cutting it in half, I positioned the two halves on either side of the woodgrain strip. From there, I began building clusters around these elements, using florals from both the Adhesive Paper Ephemera and the Die Cuts. I also added a third cluster beneath my photo with a filmstrip die cut, a coffee cup die cut, and a floral piece. For the title, I selected one of the chipboard words and placed it on top of the cluster. I absolutely love how the little coffee cup is nestled in—perfectly fitting, since the photo was taken in a Starbucks coffee shop!

To finish the page, I couldn’t resist adding a few of the Pinecones and Flowers Rub Ons. I placed tiny bubbles on the background and created my own epoxy flair by applying a rub-on to some patterned paper, then punching it out with a 1-inch circle punch. I topped it off with a domed epoxy sticker for extra dimension.

Beautiful - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers Collection

Hi everyone, it's Rebecca with you today sharing my second layout created with the gorgeous Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers collection from Simple Stories. I always adore the Simple Vintage collections, and this one is no exception. You can find the full collection in the shop here. 

To start, I cut a section of the Dream on, Dreamer patterned paper, tore the bottom and distressed all the edges to add some texture. To the centre of this, I added my photo, raised up on foam and with a large frame behind it which I'd selected from the Ephemera packet.

Either side of my photo I adhered some ticket stubbs, some from the Ephemera pack, and one from the Sticker Book. I raised the tops of these up with foam to introduce some dimension to the page. To build on these clusters, I added a sprig of lavender from the Chipboard Stickers and a floral die cut from the Floral Bits & Pieces. To help extend the right hand cluster higher, I layered in some florals from the Sentiment Bits & Pieces.

For my title, I wanted something bold and dramatic, so I selected the word 'beautiful' from the Chipboard Stickers, and positioned it just under my photo.

Flicking through the Sticker Book, I noticed a horizontal branch of dangling purple flowers and the colours matched my layout so perfectly that I just had to use it! I added it above my photo extending to the left just like my title.

Underneath my title I had an empty area of patterned paper that was really bugging me and so I positioned two stickers from the Cardstock Stickers on foam pads there to fill the gap.

To finish off the layout, I added a couple of butterfly die cuts from the Floral Bits & Pieces and some Glitter Enamel Dots.

Little Moments - Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers

Hi everyone, it’s Rebecca with you today and I’m really excited to be sharing my first layout for July because I’m creating with the beautiful Simple Vintage Meadow Flowers collection from Simple Stories. It’s such an elegant collection with soft, pretty colours. You can find it in the shop here.

I began by cutting out the sheet of notepaper from the Walk in Nature patterned paper. I love all the layers on this paper, but I felt like I wanted to scale it back and make it a bit simpler. Once cut, I distressed all the edges and adhered it centrally to a sheet of lilac cardstock from the 12x12 Basics Kit.

On top of this, I placed my photo, housed in one of the Chipboard Frames. I decided on the frame with more pink in it, to match my photo. 

Before adding any embellishments, I positioned some of the Rub-Ons around the page. I love how easy these transfer on to a layout, and they really elevate the page and add beautiful detailing to any background. 

With my rub-ons in place, I started to build some floral clusters around my photo using the Chipboard Clusters and Floral Bits & Pieces. By selecting larger elements, it means I didn’t actually need to add a great deal (fab for me - more for other layouts!) 

Once I have all my larger elements in place, I like to look through the smaller pieces in a collection to see what else I can add. The great thing about smaller elements is that you can add lots of them, without overcrowding the page. I selected a few stickers from the Cardstock Stickers, some Decorative Brads and some Enamel Glitter Dots.

The chipboard frame I’d selected had the phrase ‘Wild and Beautiful’ on it… which would work great as a title, but there was a phrase in the Page Pieces that had caught my eye. I selected the ‘Little Moments’ phrase for my title as it depicted the story in the photo perfectly. We’d been out for lunch for my husband’s birthday, and on the way back to the car we walked through the shopping centre. Randomly, under the escalator was this gorgeous wooden swing surrounded by a stunning display of florals. It was perfect for a few photos - capturing the ‘little moments’ in our day. I placed my new title on top of the chipboard frame, raised up on foam pads.  To extend my title further, I chose to add a Foam Stickers above my photo which reads ‘ My soul is made from’. 

To finish the layout, I made two little tears in the top and bottom of the background cardstock, and folded the edges in to create a little open triangle. I backed these spaces using a patterned paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad, just to add a little details and bring more colour to the edges of the layout.

Joyful - 49 and Market - Krafty Garden Collection

Hi everyone, Rebecca with you today to share my latest layout created with 49 and Market’s Krafty Garden collection. I’m really enjoying this collection and feel like I can use it to scrap so many memories. You can find the full collection in the shop here. 

To begin, I selected a couple of patterned papers and cut pieces from them, before creating a notebook edge using a border punch. I placed these in the centre of a sheet of Premium White Cardstock with my photo on top - housed in one of the Stacked Frames. To introduce some dimension to the layout, I added some adhesive craft foam behind my photo. This also helps when it comes to tucking embellishments in and layering them!

With my photo in place, I selected a title from the Chipboard Word Set and placed it to the bottom right of my photo. I always love how universal these titles are - they can be used for almost anything! 

 

Next, I selected some of the Laser Cut Outs Wildflower Elements and positioned them either side of my photo, with the flower heads raised up on foam pads. 

To the top and bottom of the arrangement, I tucked in some tags from the Ephemera Bits and above and below my photo, some lace trim from the Laser Cut Out Elements.

To help elevate the layout and make it more interesting, I then added several rubs ons around the edges of the patterned papers. I absolutely adore the 49 and Market rub ons, and I’ve used two different packs on this layout - the Blendable Rub Ons and the Essentials Rub Ons. 

I finished up with a couple of laser cut butterflies, carefully selected to match my colour scheme.
