Uniquely Creative - Ultraviolet Delight - Having Fun

Hello, Karen here back with another scrapbook layout featuring the beautiful Ultraviolet Delight Collection from Uniquely Creative.

A few years ago, I created an autumn wreath layout that  became one of my favourites. I’ve always loved that layout, so this month I decided to "scraplift" myself - using that original idea  but swapping the autumn colours for the gorgeous purples of this latest collection.

I started with a sheet of 12x12 white cardstock. I trimmed it down slightly and matted it onto a purple sheet to create a narrow border.

To add some dimension, I used my sewing machine to sew a white straight stitch around the entire edge.

Using the packaging technique I smooshed some Milled Lavender Distress Ink into the centre of the layout creating a soft base for the design.

On my Silhouette machine, I cut a large wreath from green cardstock and glued it onto the layout as a base for my embelishments. My photo was then placed on the left side of the layout with 3D foam underneath to raise it up a little.

Beneath the photo I added a title from the pack of Creative Cuts

To build up the wreath, I layered a mix of standard Creative Cuts and Vellum Creative Cuts

Mixing the standard die cuts with the vellum pieces created some nice dimension and shadowing.

I tucked in a few wood veneer leaves into the wreath. The natural wood tones pick up on the colours of the building in my photos.

One of the cards in the pack of Creative Cuts was a perfect spot for the details of 'where' and 'when' the photo was taken.

Finally I added a few vellum hearts to finish off the layout.

I'm so happy with this "scraplifted" version of my original layout and I hope you like it too.

I'll be back again soon.
Take Care

Time to Travel to Wales with Photoplay

Good Evening and welcome back to Papermaze! ScrappyAdam here with you sharing my first layout of July! I can't quite believe we are in July already! Where has 2021 gone!?

Have you seen all the new collections instore from Photoplay? There are so may to choose from - it's hard to decide which to go for... so I went with them all! I have started the month off with 'Time to Travel' and added in some patterned paper from Snail Mail and Birds of a Feather! The latter two collections mix together perfectly for sure.

I started this layout with some inspiration from Scrap Squad's 12 Days of Summer Lifts and I decided to have a play with Day 7. I absolutely love this design and will be playing with it again soon! The original layout which I took inspiration from/scrap-lifted had just the one photo but I adapted it and used two photos. That's what is great about taking inspiration from scrap-lifts - you can lift it exactly or change it to match your style, your photos, your stash!

Do you ever use layouts from other creatives or sketches as inspiration start points for your scrapbooking? Or do you prefer to start your own way? I have to admit, I never got on with either but I am finding it great fun using both and adapting it to my photos, stash and more is more style!

So, I started with a full sheet of the B-Side of 'Pack Your Bags' as my background. I took a Pinkfresh chevron stamp and stamped chevrons in two areas - coming out (approx.) from where my photos/clusters/layers will be and added a 1" strip of 'Tourist Mode' across the page - slightly more upwards than centre. This red strip is actually one of the four 6x6" patters on the B-Side of Tourist Mode and so I simple adhered them together and then stretched them to make it look like it goes from one side to the other! You can see the join in the middle but I am ok with that!

I went crazy with lots of patterned papers - I started off with sticking with the inspiration layout then went my own way, cutting lots of different papers in different sizes.

I used two 3x4" photos - one on each side, I didn't mat my photos since there were already a lot of patterned paper layers. There are lots of torn paper layers too!

Then it was my favourite part - embellishments! I fussy cut a few cars and caravans from 'Let's Go' which are perfect for fussy cutting. They seemed appropriate as we were travelling for a short caravan break! I have stuck some embellishments down with foam to add dimension along with the torn paper.

I mixed up embellishing from the stickers and ephemera. I added in some Bramble Fox cars and geotags as well as three flair from Dotty About Flair. I did bring in some stickers from Echo Park too as well as some washi tape.

Thanks for joining me today. I will be back soon with another Photoplay layout - using another new collection! Until then, take care and stay safe!

'Wander' by ScrappyAdam... Simple Stories 'Safe Travels' Collection

Happy Scrappy Saturday!

It has been a busy few weeks for me but I am so happy to be back on the Papermaze blog sharing a new layout using the new Simple Stories collection, Safe Travels. I absolutely love this collection - it is travel themed but it can be used for so much more especially with the travel restrictions of today. I loved my DT Pack and then bought the rest of the collection - like I always do!

I have used it to document a photo from a three week road trip across Europe we took in 2019. I have so many photos from this trip to document - I have so many photos to document! Do you scrap chronologically? Or are you more of a random scrapper like me? I scrap whatever photo I feel like depending on what I am working with!

I took inspiration from Day 3 of Scrap Squad's '12 Days of Spring Scraplifts' over in the Scrap Squad Facebook group. I don't do scrap lifts all that often, even though I have a huge virtual pile on my phone and it was nice to have the starting inspiration for a change. I did change the orientation of my layout from the scraplift for Day 3.

I took a sheet of White Bazzill as my background. I don't use white backgrounds all that much so that was a nice change.I started with two strips each of the papers Happy Travels, Weekend Vibes and Take Me Somewhere. I decided to tear these strips and had one large strip at the bottom and two smaller layered behind this and three smaller strips on the top. I did intentionally make it very textured with tearing and distressing the edges.

I added my photo, slightly bigger than a 3x4" and used a Chipboard Frame to highlight the photo and layered a sticker to create a subtitle with the words already on the frame.

To the top right, I added a cluster using the adhesive brads and enamel dots as well as a couple of stickers from the sticker book.

I wanted to add more because there was a lot of white space left for me! If you've seen my layouts before then you know I don't do white space often at all! So I added a big foam sticker, some washi tape strips, brads and stickers as well as a rub on from my stash.

That's pretty much it! Quite a simple page for me - with quite a bit of white space for me! Hope you have enjoyed it and I will hopefully be back with another Safe Travels project very soon!

In the meantime, pop along and have a look at all the other amazing creations on the blog, have a happy scrappy Saturday and stay safe and take care!
