Carta Bella - Hello Christmas - Happy Christmas

Hi Everyone!

Claire back here with you today sharing an extra bonus layout using the beautiful Carta Bella Hello Christmas collection.

I've seen a few people doing product focused layouts and so I decided to give it a go. For this page, I am going to be focusing on the Chipboard Accents and the Elements Stickers.

I started with a sheet of cream Bazzill cardstock from the Matchmaker Pack. I chose this because it matches the cream 'background' colour of the chipboard pieces.

Next, I took the sheet of the Red Plaid Paper and cut out a large 25 design using a Peartree Cutfile. I cut it out directly on the Plaid paper and then cut it again in gold glitter card from my stash to give the numbers a sparkly outline.

To make sure I had enough definition for the chipboard pieces, I added a row of foam tape all around the sides of the red plaid paper and around all sides of the 25.  Once all the foam was in place, I lay this on top of the cream Bazzill cardstock.

Then came the really fun bit!  I filled the inside of the 25 with the Chipboard Accents, using the largest pieces first and working my way down in size to fill the smaller gaps.  Once all the chipboard had been used, I filled the smallest gaps with some small stickers from the Element Stickers.

Once the 25 was full, I turned my attention to the gold glittery outline. First, I backed the holly leaves with the B side of the Christmas Village paper and used some red glitter card from my stash for the berries.

To make sure the outline stood out, I backed it with a thin strip of foam tape and carefully laid it over the top of the cutfile so that all lines were aligned.

I double matted my photos using the Poinsettia Florals and Journaling Cards papers and positioned this to the right hand side of the cutfile.

I decided that as the design is quite busy with all the chipboard, the photo needed very little embellishing. I created a small cluster at the bottom left corner of the photo, fussy cutting a small tag from the Holiday Tags paper and a small wreath from the b side.  As the wreath I cut said Happy, I decided to combine this with a sticker from the Element Stickers saying Christmas and use this as my title.

To finish the page off, I pulled out some gold ribbon from my stash, running it along the left side and bottom of the paper, tying a small knot where the pieces met.

I hope you've enjoyed this concept. The idea is very versatile and can be applied to a wide range of designs and layouts.  There are still some puffy stickers, chipboard phrases, frames and tags ephemera and of course those stunning papers in the shop - but I'm sure they won't hang around for long!

I'll be back with one final layout using this collection later this month.

Until then, stay safe and happy scrapping!

Photoplay - We can just stay home #3

Hi :) It's Anna back today to share my third and final layout with the Photoplay - We can just stay home collection.
You can see my first post here and my second here using this collection as well as other elements from my DT Kit.

The story behind this page is that it was our first visit somewhere after lockdown restrictions had began to ease, a trip to the seaside, with plenty of space to socially distance. It was so nice to do something normal.
For this layout, I wanted to use this Jillibean soup placemat, I don't have a cutting machine (just yet!) so this was the closest thing to a cut file in my stash!
It was a time consuming task, but I really enjoyed it, I don't think the photos quite do it justice, but I was really pleased with the effect. I selected various scraps of papers from the collection, along with some cardstock scraps and some glittered paper to back each of the sections.

I then chose a cut apart card from the 'family fun' paper and mounted it alongside my photo onto the reverse side of the Don't Hurry patterned paper. I added in a small strip of the reverse of the PJ's All Day paper, so I could use a foam word sticker from the Simple Stories Summer Farmhouse foam stickers which was yellow and wouldn't have worked otherwise.

Finally, I added a few finishing touches using some of the foam stickers from the Simple Stories Summer Farmhouse foam stickers, Pebbles Puffy dots and Simple Stories Dive into Summer Element Stickers to add a few beach details.

I made a little journaling tag from a luggage tag, adding a sticker from the Simple Stories Dive into Summer Element Stickers, some twine and another heart sticker from the Summer farmhouse foam stickers. I added some wording 'stay' to the sticker to make it appropriate for this layout. On the reverse of the tag, I added some journaling. I haven't stuck it down, just tucked in.

Thanks for looking!
See you soon for another month with a brand new collection!

Sizzix - Tim Holtz Alternations Thinlits Die Set - Snow Globe and Glitter

Hello - Lynn here with you today and my first Christmas project for this season. I couldn't resist this Snowglobe die set when I visited the Papermaze shop recently.

Together with some delightful A4 glittery card, Bazzill cardstock, embossing plates and other dies I made a selection of Christmas cards. I also used miri card and some patterned paper scraps. I have listed all the supplies at the end of the post.

I made all the card blanks using Bazzill Cardstock.

A couple more cards I made using the same cardstock and some Crafter's Companion dies.

Supplies used:
Card blanks and some of the shapes were cut from Bazzill cardstock.
Crafter's Companion Embossing Folders 5" x 7" - Flourishing Flakes
Crafter's Companion Dies - Seasonal Sentiment, Stylish Tree, Merry & Bright, Snowflakes of Joy
Elizabeth Craft Designs Die - Merry Christmas

CArt-Us Glittery Cardboard and Miri card from the shop - there are many lovely colours to choose from and the beauty is the glitter stays on the card not on the floor and everywhere else! (not on the website - so please contact the shop for details).

Gems - various different flat-backed gems.

Hope this has inspired you with your Christmas card making.
Back later in the month with a Christmas Eve idea.
Thanks for looking.
