May Papermaze Kit - Part 2

As promised, Lynn back with more layouts made from the May Papermaze Kit.
I have continued to have fun creating with the papers, card and embellishments provided, and I still have plenty to continue crafting beyond this post.

A quick reminder of the complete kit plus the extra cardstock pack.
My first post shows the kit content as well as the first two layouts and can be found HERE.

For my first layout today I chose a photo of my daughter selecting sweets in a shop in Brighton. The reverse of Simple Stories I Am... Choosing Happiness paper reminding me of the candy striped paper bags.

I started by gutting the Authentique Beginnings Four paper, leaving a frame of 1" all the way around. Then trimmed the pink brickwork side of the Kaisercraft So Amazing paper to 10.5" x 10.2". This was distressed and inked.

I mounted my photo onto a scrap of Whirlpool Bazzill and arranged this onto the page. Then the fun part - making my bunting!

I plaited three strands of pink and white Baker's Twine which I strung across the top of the page. I made flags from t
he reverse of the Choosing Happiness paper and the washi tape (which I left on the acetate). The flags all measure 4cm x 1.5cm. Once these were in place with 3D sticky pads I arranged lots of other goodies. I used the two waxed seals, Dusty Attic Chipboard and paper flowers from the kit. In addition I added a few items from my stash - another paper flower and a few other smaller blossoms, ribbon scraps tied into bows. I also added a couple of butterflies cut from the Choosing Happiness paper.

Finally I added a title cut with a Sizzix die and the reverse of the American Crafts Flower Child paper. Once in place I doodled around the letters with a black pen.

For my second layout, I chose a photo for my daughter and her
fiancé on the day they got the keys to their new home - No.17!

One of the great things about this kit is that it encouraged me to mix colours of cardstock and papers together that I may not have chosen to use, but they worked well together.

For the base of the layout I did some gutting, first using Glow 12" x 12", then the Pinkini 11.75" x 11.75" (left from other pages), Guacamole 11.5" x 11.5". Then a piece of Cream Puff (additional to the kit) cut to 11.25" x 11.25".

Using lots of scraps of papers left over from the previous three layouts and introduced some of both sides of Pink Fresh Studio - Whim paper. I inked the edges of all the cut patterned papers with Distress Inks.
The large piece of Beginnings Four was trimmed to 9.5" x 7".
A strip of 6 butterflies from Choose Happiness paper.
A narrow strip of So Amazing - brickwork paper.
I used a Sizzix die set to cut the doily and lace trim, then I threaded narrow ribbon through the lace trim, which was cut from Flower Child paper.
I made rosettes with a Sizzix Decorative Strip die and both sides of the Whim paper.
The title was cut from a scrap of Whirlpool Bazzill and another Sizzix decorative Strip die.
Using an old stamp from my collection I stamped the journalling block onto Whim paper too.
The photo was matted onto Pinkini Bazzill.
I added one of the wooden bingo tiles and the Prima Lavender tag (changing the ribbon to match that used earlier).
Finally I added the three pearls and the remainder of the washi tape.

I still have enough paper, card and embellishments left over to make another layout or several cards.
I hope the four layouts have inspired you to have a go with the May Papermaze kit. Please contact Vanessa at the shop if you are interested in purchasing one.

Thanks for looking
Lynn x
