Simple Stories ~ Fun Times #1 🌟

Hi everyone, it’s Anna back with you today and this month I’m working with simple Stories - Fun Times. You can find this collection in the shop here. 

For my first project with this collection I have a double page layout to share…

I wanted to document going to a concert and I had sooo many photos to use! I decided to print the ones I wanted to use and put them into strips. I lined up all of the portrait and landscape pictures as well as the square ones together and adhered them on to coordinating cardstock. I then had strips of photos to place on my layouts. 

I cut out two pieces of ‘Admit One’ and adhered each strip to each side of my two pieces of 12x12 bazzill cardstock. This ties both sides of the layout together. I continued with this technique as I created the layouts by mirroring both sides with a similar design. 

I arranged my strips of photos on both sides of the layouts and then began to add in my embellishments. 

On the left layout, I added my title using Bella Blvd Luna Alphabet Puffy Stickers. I also added in some page pieces and element stickers. 

I also used the page pieces and element stickers on the right layout. 

I layered several of the page pieces, tucked alongside a strip of photos to replicate the size and detail of the extra photo which I’d used on the left layout.  

I added some of the word phrases from the element stickers tucked in between the photos.

March Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Welcome to the March Papermaze Kit, and I'm kicking off with a double layout for a change. Both of these layouts can be independent of one another, they can also be arranged either way around. The March kit is full of pretty spring papers, embellishments and cardstock colours. The photos show my baby granddaughter and friends, at the sensory group they attend weekly, celebrating World Book Day, Flo's favourite book of the moment being a Peek-A-Boo Book with a strawberry character on the front, so she is dressed in strawberries!

Here is the kit, showing the 6 papers, 2 sheets of cardstock and a selection of matching embellishments to try. Don't forget there is also a pack of 4 sheets of cardstock, selected by Vanessa, to go with the kit as an extra purchase (see all six sheets of cardstock in a photo below).

World Book Day - Left-Hand Side

For the left-hand layout, I used the Lagoon Bazzill as the backing. I wanted to use the photo of Flo and her friends as the main feature, so printed it A4 size. Then with the sheet of EP Bright Hexagons, I set about cutting a frame of hexagon shapes, cutting the center of the paper away in an irregular pattern. (I set aside the centre of this sheet of paper for use on the right-hand side.)

I set the frame of hexagons over the Bazzill, and arranged the photo to the left side of the page, leaving room for the details and title. I cut three tags using scrap white card and the Sizzix, Tim Holtz, Tag Collection die set. With a little of the Yukon Gold Bazzill I cut the rings to reinforce the tag holes and threaded them with some orange ribbon from my stash. I placed the tags to the top right of the photo and added my journalling.

I made the title with several different fonts on the Cricut, and cut with various scraps of Bazzill from the kit and my stash. I placed the title to vertically to the right of the photo.

To embellish this page I used the Rosie's Studio Button Embellishments, strip of Doodlebug enamel heart sprinkles and some of the Tea Garden Bits & Pieces, keeping some back for the next page.

Peekaboo - Right-hand side

For this page I purchased an extra sheet of Lagoon Bazzill as the backing, to match the first layout. From the left-over piece Bright Hexagons paper, I cut three irregular panels of hexagons. These were placed vertically onto the Bazzill. 

On the Bright Hexagons paper many of the hexagons have several layers and a heart in the centre, I wanted to recreate this as a large shape, to use for the title. I created these shapes using my Cricut - two hexagons in Yukon Gold Bazzill, one with 9cm sides and the other with 10.5cm sides. Then I cut another hexagon from some white scrap cardstock measuring 9.45cm.  These were layered up, then I added a heart shape cut from the same white cardstock, 11.5cm across. I placed the finished shape over the three strips of paper.

I placed my four photos across the layout, leaving enough white space to add a title later.

I used the Cricut to cut the date, in more scraps of Bazzill from the kit and my own stash. I placed the date in the bottom left corner of the page. I also made the title and place this over the white heart.

I embellished the page using the same elements as for the left side (Rosie's Studio Button Embellishments, strip of Doodlebug enamel heart sprinkles and some of the Tea Garden Bits & Pieces).

Simple Stories ~ Say cheese Magic #1 ✨

Hi everyone, it’s Anna back with you and this month I’m working with Simple Stories Say Cheese Magic!

 

You can find the whole collection in the shop here. 

I love a Disney themed collection and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint! Simple Stories have brought out a few Disney themed collections this release which also include -

• Simple Stories - Say Cheese Epic (Epcot themed)
• Simple Stories Say Cheese Galaxy (Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge themed)
• Simple Stories Say Cheese Tinseltown  (Hollywood Studios themed)
• Simple Stories Say Cheese Wild (Animal Kingdom themed) 

They are all amazing! Perfect for scrapbooking your Disney memories! 

But let’s get back to Say Cheese Magic… I have created a double page spread for my first project…

I used ‘Oh Boy!’ And ‘Yoo Hoo!’ together - when I lined them up next to each other both Mickey and Minnie’s  heads joined together perfectly. I just needed to allow for the other half of the bow, which I hand drew and matched it up with the reflecting side. 

I trimmed the patterned paper down and then mounted them onto white bazzill cardstock - leaving a gap each side apart from the joining edge. 

I then picked 6 photos - 3 on each side and created a reflection, doing pretty much the same to each side of the page. I mounted my photos in coordinating cardstock and then used ‘4x6 elements’ paper to layer them onto. 

I picked out two tags from ‘tag elements’ for each side and added some twine to them, I tucked them into my clusters, again creating a mirror image. 

I then selected several stickers from the ‘cardstock stickers’ and used them to build up the detail around the photos. Again I tried to more of less stick to creating a mirror image and placing them similar places on both sides. 

I added a title along the bottom of the layout using Doodlebug Alpha Stickers and I also added phrase stickers by American Crafts.

Echo Park ~ Fall #1

 Hello all, 

It’s Anna back today and I’m working with a brand new collection - Echo Park Fall - you can see the whole collection in the shop here. 

This collection is perfect for documenting the season of autumn, the colours and images are just perfect. So after a trip to a pumpkin patch, I had so many photos to scrap that worked so well with it. Therefore, my first layout is a double page spread! I very rarely do double pages these days, so it’s a bit different for me, but I’m glad I could use several photos! 

I began with two sheets of bazzill white cardstock. To make the double page flow, I went with a mirror image design. I trimmed the b side of the 4x4 journaling cards paper in half and stuck it down in the middle, leaving room around the edges to add in extra strips. I then added strips of the b sides of fall phrases, patch plaid and pumpkin patch. I finished with a longer strip of the red side of  patch plaid with banner edges.

I mounted my photographs onto coordinating cardstock and patterned papers from the collection. 

I used several of the element stickers and puffy stickers to embellish my layout. I also added in a few of the puffy leaf stickers from the Jen Hadfield Peaceful Heart Collection. 

I made a hidden journaling box, by combining a project life card with one of the 3x4 journaling cards. I tucked this in behind my largest photo, and it can easily be pulled out to read the journaling.

Lastly, I added in a few Nuvo Drops around some of the clusters of embellishments using the shade of pale gold.

April Papermaze Kit - Part 2

I'm here today with the next post showing you what I have created with the April Papermaze Kit. This kit is full of spring & Easter, pretty pastel papers, card and embellishments. This time I have created a double page layout, inspired by a Page Maps Sketch.

Embellishments:

Extra Bazzil Pack - Quartz, Wisteria, Hillary & Jetstream

Easter Bonnets - As a base for these pages I used two sheets 12"x12" scrap paper, this enabled me to cut up and make the most of the patterned papers and cardstock from the kit.

To prepare the pages, I cut the following:
Jetstream Bazzill - 20.5cm x 30.5cm & 10cm x 30.5cm
Bumblebee Breeze - 10cm x 30.5cm (Bee side), 8cm x 15cm & 23cm x 15cm (yellow side)
Pastel Petals - 20cm x 30.5cm (floral side) & 6.5cm x 21cm (green trellis side)
Go The Scenic Route #12 - 7.5cm x 22.5cm
I inked the edges with Shaded Lilac Distress Ink.

These pieces of paper were then arranged onto the base paper (for placement see the sketch), when sticking into place I allowed some edges to be free of glue so I could tuck the tags in place later.

April 2021 Page Maps Sketch

I mounted all the photos onto African Daisy Bazzill, then made a second mount for the portrait photo using Quartz Bazzill. The photos were arranged across the yellow check patterned paper on the layout. I raised the portrait photo on foam pads, and the other three were glued to the page. 

With scraps of Avalanche Bazzill I trimmed two strips with the Mini Daisy Fan Martha Stewart Border Punch.

From the remainder of the 'Tags' paper I cut 12 tags, inked the edges, punched holes and added large white eyelets from my stash. I arranged them around the page tucking them under some of the other papers, leaving enough white space for my journalling.

I had some pretty pale blue silky twine in my stash and threaded this through the eyelets in the tags. Arranging in loopy fashion and gluing in place onto the page.

I used the washi tape in the kit to trim various areas on the pages.

To embellish I made some flowers from the Bazzill scraps, using the Tim Holtz - Sizzix Thinlits set - Funky Floral Large.

My title was created with some Thickers Alpha Stickers.
