July Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today, sharing the second pair of layouts using the pretty Papermaze kit for July. This kit is packed with soft, natural colours and includes double-sided patterned papers,  Bazzill Basics cardstock and a whole bunch of co-ordinating embellishments. There is also a pack of matching Bazzill Basics sheets, available to compliment the kit.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit.

The photo below shows both sides of the papers.

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Joanne Bain - Little Celebrations - Whimsy & Luminous
P13 - Beautiful Moments - #02 & #06
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Woodlands - Let's Explore
Stamperia - Timeless Collection - Roses Tapestry

Embellishments:
Tim Holtz - Idea-ology clippings - Stickers
P13 - Chipboard Circles
G45 - Pearls
Prima - Return to Wonderland - 2 Vintage Wonderland Frames
Prima - A Mermaid's Tail - Flower
49 and Market - Moonlit Garden - washi tape - stamps
12" Lace

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Lagoon, Pigment (included in Kit), Tutu Pink, Powder Blue, Star Dust & Cinnamon Stick (in Extra pack).

A Mother's Love - This photo goes back to my wedding day (41 years ago), and shows Mum and me on the patio in her garden just before leaving home for the church.

In order to use both sides of this paper, I needed a 12" x 12" sheet of scrap paper, to mount the cut pieces onto. I cut P13 - Beautiful Moments - #06 in half to give me two pieces 12" x 6", and placed them onto the scrap paper, and stuck them in place. I covered the join in the paper with the cream lace from the kit.

From the Stamperia - Timeless Collection - Roses Tapestry I cut two pieces, 6" x 4", and mounted them on the top half of the page to show both side of the paper. These were overlapping one another, and created a backdrop for the photo.

I mounted the photo on a scrap of Star Dust Bazzill, gutted from a previous layout. and placed this in the centre of the page.

I used a Dusty Attic chipboard piece - 'A mother's Love', and prepared it with a coat of Gesso. Over this I applied Distress inks, then a coat of Glossy Accents. This was placed at the bottom right of the layout.

From the kit, I selected a few of the Tim Holtz - Idea-ology clippings - Stickers and placed them to the right of the photo. Then above this, I used one the P13 - Chipboard Circles and the three 49 and Market - Moonlit Garden - washi tape - stamps

With a pack of 49 and Market - One Perfect Day, Laser Cut Out Wildflower, I selected three clusters of flowers, and a few leaf fronds, I used 3D foam pads to apply these around the page.
From the
Let's Explore paper I cut some tiny butterflies and scattered these over the page, together with the gold and silver G45 Pearls from the kit.

Red Roses for a Blue Lady - My daughters dressed up for their ballet dance to this song at their annual dance school show.

For this layout I used a Sketch from Paper Issues.

I cut two hearts from the remains of Roses Tapestry paper, I mounted the smaller floral one over the larger green heart. I inked all the edges and placed this to the top left of the sheet of P13 - Beautiful Moments - #02.

I mounted my photos onto some text from an old gardening book I purchased from a charity shop years ago and use for scrapbooking. I inked the edges of these mounts and fanned the photos out across the heart.

I used a doily under the photos, and made a tag from the Pigment Bazzill, for my journalling. I tied some fine, red, jute twine through the hole in the tag, and made a bow. I stuck this to the doily. I cut another doily in half and tucked it under the mount, to the right of the photos.

I made three clusters of red and white paper roses selected from my stash. I punched leaf fronds to add to these clusters using an old Martha Stewart punch.

From the Let's Explore paper; I cut two butterflies and added one to the tag and another to the half doily.  For the title I used some Paige Evans Sugarplum Wishes mini puffy alpha stickers
I also used some Doodlebug Designs Teensy Type alphabet stickers. Finally, I used the black G45 Pearls from the kit.

That's all for today, I'll be back with the August kit in a few weeks.

Thanks for looking.

July Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Lynn here today, sharing my first two creations using the pretty, delicate Papermaze kit for July!
Full of soft, natural colours, six double-sided patterned papers, two sheets Bazzill Basics cardstock and a whole bunch of co-ordinating embellishments. There is also a pack of four
matching Bazzill Basics sheets, available to compliment the kit.

Stitching Friends - Photos of my Mum and me, at my home, when we ran a stitching club. On the first birthday, the local paper came along to take photos and write a report.

I started making this layout by using the Whimsy paper as the background. Then using my Cricut I cut an embroidery hoop from the Cinnamon Stick Bazzill and some silver miri board. I placed this in the centre of the layout.

I mounted both photos onto some embroidery fabric scraps and frayed the edges. I added the mounted photos over the hoop.

Using more of the Cinnamon Stick Bazzill, I cut the title using some Tonic Studios 'Windsor' upper and lower case die sets. I arranged these around the top of the hoop.

My journalling was added with a marker pen directly onto the paper, inside the hoop and under the photos.

With a pack of 49 and Market - One Perfect Day, Laser Cut Out Wildflower, I selected several flower clusters and added these to the layout with 3D foam pads.

Happy 13th Birthday - We were on holiday in Suffolk when the triplets became teenagers. We spent the day at Aldeburgh.

I started this layout with the Star Dust Bazzill to create a frame 12" x 12" and 1" deep.  Over this I mounted a gutted piece of Let's Explore (plaid side up), this was trimmed to 11.5" x 11.5" and 1" deep. I distressed all the edges of this frame.

I trimmed the Luminous paper to 10.5" x 10.5" and distressed the edges. This was mounted into the centre of the plaid frame, without sticking down right to the edges. I trimmed off the top left corner, and glued this back in place on the Bazzill, then I folded back the cut edge of the larger piece.

I tucked some narrow strips of burlap under the edges of the Luminous paper. With several pieces of Dusty Attic chipboard - Cosmic Wire and Wildgrass #3 Small as embellishments, I treated them with a coat of Gesso, then painted them all with acrylic paints in browns and gold, these were set aside to dry.

I mounted my photo to the right side of the layout, and framed it with the Cosmic Wire chipboard piece. I cut a small piece of paper from the scraps of Luminous paper and made a small banner to add to the left side of the page. Then I mounted the wildgrass chipboard pieces, one over the banner, another peeking from the top of the folded corner, and two at the right of the photo.

I added the Prima Flower from the kit to the bottom right of the photo. I cut the title using some Tonic Studios 'Windsor' upper and lower case die sets with scraps from the Luminous paper, I mounted these onto more scraps of the same paper, using the other side. After inking the edges with Distress Ink, I applied the words to the left of the photo. I added several of the Tim Holtz - Idea-ology clippings - Stickers from the kit.

My subtitle and the date were spelt out with some old Basic Grey stickers from my stash. Finally I attached two 'brass' nautical charms, a lifebelt and an anchor.

That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit in a few weeks.
Thanks for looking.

Papermaze January Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today, and I'm back with my second post using the January kit. This is available in the shop or on the website. Plenty of wintery papers, embellishments and cardstock to create new year and winter themed layouts.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit:

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Cottagecore - Moments
Carta Bella - Winter Wonderland
- Snowy Swirls
Echo Park - Cool Wood Grains - Pale Wood Grain
Mintay - By The Lake - #05
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Fresh Snow - Cabin Fever & Chasing Snowflakes

The photo below shows both sides of the papers:

Embellishments: 6 x 6" Mintay Snowflake Vellum, 2 Craft Consortium - It's Gnome Time 2 x snowflake charms, 7 x 49 & Market Color Swatch Inkwell - Ticket Essentials, Simple Stories Simple Vintage Fresh Snow - 7 x Floral Bits & Piece, 25cm navy organza ribbon, Prima - the Home Baker 1 x rose, Crate Paper silver glittery acrylic heart, Carta Bella 12" Winter Wonderland  Washi Tape and 49 and Market Moonlight Garden strip of Wishing Bubbles and Baubles.

Bazzill Basics Cardstock: Rain Forest and Pigment (in kit). Moody Blue, Bark, CS White and Pear (in extra matched Bazzill Pack).

Kew at Christmas - A lovely evening at Kew Gardens for the Christmas lights.

To create the wooden background for this layout, I cut the By The Lake - #05 paper, into 1" x 11 1/2" strips, and distressed all the edges. I arranged these onto the sheet of Bark Bazzill.

I cut a 8.25" circle of
Snowy Swirls paper, and an 8.75" circle of Moody Blue Bazzill. I distressed the edges and mounted the paper onto the card, then placed the double circle into the centre of the layout.

My photo was mounted onto more of the Moody Blue Bazzill, then I wrapped the navy organza ribbon around the base of the photo, and attached one of the snowflake charms to the knot in the bow, with sewing thread.

For my title I used some old stash - Chipboard Glitter Thickers (Bonjour) and Foam Thickers (Root beer Float). I also used some Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup letters in Silver and White. I added the Crate Paper silver glittery acrylic heart from the kit.

Finally, I scattered iridescent white sequins over the circle, and nail head stickers where the wood slats overlap.

The Great Avunculi - These photos were taken at the garden centre cafe, when Florence was taken to meet up with her uncle and two aunties.

I chose the 49 and Market Moments paper as the background for this layout. I picked a Dusty Attic chipboard Vine, and painted it with a coat of gesso. Then I painted it with brown and green acrylic paints. This was glued across the top of the paper.

With jute twine tied in four places along the vine, I trailed them down the length of the layout, and tied each one to a rusty metal star or heart from my stash. I tied further tiny scraps of twine to the longer lengths.

I printed four small photos and placed one on to each of the lengths of twine. I stuck them to the page with 3D foam pads.

The title was created with a selection of alphabet stickers from my stash. I added my journalling under the title.

Using embellishments from the kit I added the
Prima rose, the Wishing Bubbles and Baubles, and the Simple Stories Fresh Snow -  Floral Bits & Piece. I also chose some cardstock stickers from the same collection.

That's all from the January kit, I'll be back soon with the February kit.
Thanks for looking.
