Lynn here today, sharing the second pair of layouts using the pretty Papermaze kit for July. This kit is packed with soft, natural colours and includes double-sided patterned papers,  Bazzill Basics cardstock and a whole bunch of co-ordinating embellishments. There is also a pack of matching Bazzill Basics sheets, available to compliment the kit.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit.

The photo below shows both sides of the papers.

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Joanne Bain - Little Celebrations - Whimsy & Luminous
P13 - Beautiful Moments - #02 & #06
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Woodlands - Let's Explore
Stamperia - Timeless Collection - Roses Tapestry

Embellishments:
Tim Holtz - Idea-ology clippings - Stickers
P13 - Chipboard Circles
G45 - Pearls
Prima - Return to Wonderland - 2 Vintage Wonderland Frames
Prima - A Mermaid's Tail - Flower
49 and Market - Moonlit Garden - washi tape - stamps
12" Lace

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Lagoon, Pigment (included in Kit), Tutu Pink, Powder Blue, Star Dust & Cinnamon Stick (in Extra pack).

A Mother's Love - This photo goes back to my wedding day (41 years ago), and shows Mum and me on the patio in her garden just before leaving home for the church.

In order to use both sides of this paper, I needed a 12" x 12" sheet of scrap paper, to mount the cut pieces onto. I cut P13 - Beautiful Moments - #06 in half to give me two pieces 12" x 6", and placed them onto the scrap paper, and stuck them in place. I covered the join in the paper with the cream lace from the kit.

From the Stamperia - Timeless Collection - Roses Tapestry I cut two pieces, 6" x 4", and mounted them on the top half of the page to show both side of the paper. These were overlapping one another, and created a backdrop for the photo.

I mounted the photo on a scrap of Star Dust Bazzill, gutted from a previous layout. and placed this in the centre of the page.

I used a Dusty Attic chipboard piece - 'A mother's Love', and prepared it with a coat of Gesso. Over this I applied Distress inks, then a coat of Glossy Accents. This was placed at the bottom right of the layout.

From the kit, I selected a few of the Tim Holtz - Idea-ology clippings - Stickers and placed them to the right of the photo. Then above this, I used one the P13 - Chipboard Circles and the three 49 and Market - Moonlit Garden - washi tape - stamps

With a pack of 49 and Market - One Perfect Day, Laser Cut Out Wildflower, I selected three clusters of flowers, and a few leaf fronds, I used 3D foam pads to apply these around the page.
From the
Let's Explore paper I cut some tiny butterflies and scattered these over the page, together with the gold and silver G45 Pearls from the kit.

Red Roses for a Blue Lady - My daughters dressed up for their ballet dance to this song at their annual dance school show.

For this layout I used a Sketch from Paper Issues.

I cut two hearts from the remains of Roses Tapestry paper, I mounted the smaller floral one over the larger green heart. I inked all the edges and placed this to the top left of the sheet of P13 - Beautiful Moments - #02.

I mounted my photos onto some text from an old gardening book I purchased from a charity shop years ago and use for scrapbooking. I inked the edges of these mounts and fanned the photos out across the heart.

I used a doily under the photos, and made a tag from the Pigment Bazzill, for my journalling. I tied some fine, red, jute twine through the hole in the tag, and made a bow. I stuck this to the doily. I cut another doily in half and tucked it under the mount, to the right of the photos.

I made three clusters of red and white paper roses selected from my stash. I punched leaf fronds to add to these clusters using an old Martha Stewart punch.

From the Let's Explore paper; I cut two butterflies and added one to the tag and another to the half doily.  For the title I used some Paige Evans Sugarplum Wishes mini puffy alpha stickers
I also used some Doodlebug Designs Teensy Type alphabet stickers. Finally, I used the black G45 Pearls from the kit.

That's all for today, I'll be back with the August kit in a few weeks.

Thanks for looking.

April Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Welcome to the April Papermaze kit, This month's kit has a selection of photo papers, making it suitable for a selection of masculine, heritage and floral designs. The first two layouts are based on photo papers as the main feature of the page. As well as the six patterned papers, the kit has a collection of  embellishments. There are two sheets of Bazzill cardstock included, and you can also buy four more in the co-ordination pack.

Before looking at how I made the layouts, here are the details of what you will find in the kit.

Patterned Papers:
Mintay Papers -
Photographer collection - #02 & #05
Stamperia - Alterego collection - Postcard & Turquoise Wallpaper
Stamperia - Create Happiness collection - Dewdrops - Wood
P13 - Love Stories collection - #06

2, 49 & Market frames, 6 pieces 49 & Market acetate ephemera, 1 strip Prima crystals, 1 sheet P13 alpha stickers, selection of Cocoa Vanilla foam stickers, 12" lace, 6" Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon and 6x Tim Holtz brads

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Twig & Whirlpool (included in kit). Coastal, Avalanche, Jade & Cinnamon Stick (in extra Bazzill pack)

Photography Project - This photo was taken by my daughter, as part of an A Level photography experiment. With the help of two friends who were willing to dress up and pose for her to do a film camera, black and white Victorian project, in the local park.

I started with the Mintay Papers -  Photographer collection - #02 paper, and with a craft knife I cut out the lens from the camera, fussy cutting around the flowers and smaller cameras. I printed the photo A4 size and arranged it to show through the lens.

I fussy cut flowers from
#05 paper, and layered these up with foam pads in the bottom right corner.

I placed a piece of white card under one of the 49 & Market frames, for my journalling. This was placed near the bottom of the layout near the flowers.

I created my title and date around the lens with the
P13 alpha stickers from the kit.

Seeds and Bulbs - A collection of spring flowers, photographed in my garden this year.

I wanted to make the paper - P13 - Love Stories collection - #06 into a showcase for the photos of my flowers. I started by cutting each of the drawers away from the chest. I used a craft knife to cut each drawer away, leaving the frame in one piece. I inked all the edges with Distress Ink - Walnut Stain.

I stuck the frame onto the sheet of Cinnamon Stick Bazzill.

I used a selection of Tim Holtz Sizzix dies to create an envelope, filmstrips, label holders, a rosette and tickets. These incude Alphanumeric Tiny Type Upper, Collector and Specimen. I also used the Sizzix Decorative Strip - Sizzlit mini filmstrip and mini tickets. I cut these shapes from some scrap Bazzill cardstock in Kraft and White, using more ink to distress the edges.

I printed my photos as small index prints so they would fit in the negative frames. Then I mounted others onto some white card.

I created each drawer, adding the shapes and words, labels etc. I used a few brads from the kit and others from my stash. Many items were stuck to the back of the drawers so they would be seen peeking out. Then all the drawers were replaced into the cabinet, using 3D foam pads to raise them up from the background.

Other items I included were, lolly sticks, wooden leave fronds, skeleton leaves, twine, key charms, and some stickers from a previous kit. I also used the Tim Holtz filmstrip ribbon from the kit.

That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit soon.

February Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Hello, Lynn with you today, and the second pair of layouts made using the beautiful February kit from Papermaze. Pretty romantic papers, together with Bazzill cardstock and embellishments. This time I am using some old family. black and white photos.

Before seeing how these layouts were created, please see below, what you will find in the kit.

Patterned Papers:
Mintay Papers - See You in Paris! collection - #04 & #05
P13 - Love Stories collection - #01 & #05
49 and Market - Vintage Orchard collection - Solids Paper 1
Echo Park - Marry Me collection - Blush Floral

The photo below shows both sides of the papers:

Embellishments - P13 Light Chipboard Embellishments, P13 Dear Love Stickers, Craft Consortium 2 Belle Fleur butterflies, P13 Stitched With Love labels, 3 Prima flowers, Doodlebug Designs 5 puffy heart stickers, Little Birdie 3 heart stickers, 12" Pink Mesh ribbon, Papermania Bare Basics wooden dots.

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Sweetheart and Stonehenge (included in kit). Peach Creme, Dusk, Tutu Pink, Guacamole (in extra Bazzill match kit).

Our Wedding - This layout shows The wedding of family members Gerty and Bill, taken in 1931.

For this layout I used a sheet of Classic Smooth White Bazzill, and the sheet of Mintay Papers - See You in Paris! collection - #04. The first task was to cut a large heart shape from the #04 paper. I worked out where the heart would sit on the cardstock, and with TH Layering Stencil (Ornate THS079), I stencilled with Kitsch Flamingo, Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks. I also flicked some of these inks over the page.

Using DMC embroidery thread, I worked chain stitch about 1cm in from the edge of the heart shape. I trimmed the outer edge of the heart with some pretty white lace.

The heart was then stuck down onto the centre of the cardstock. I mounted my photo to the right side of the heart. Using scraps from the P13 - Love Stories collection - #05l, I fussy cut a circular, floral element and tucked this into the left side of the photo.

From the kit, I chose the flowers, phrase stickers and butterflies to embellish the page.

Using my own stash, I used the 'Our Wedding' sticker from Echo Park - Just Married - Element Stickers. My journalling was written under the title.

Finally, I added the tiny white heart stickers from the kit.

Dimples - I recently found these photos of my little sister from the 1960's

For the background, I used the 49 and Market - Vintage Orchard collection - Solids Paper 1. Then, with scraps of Mintay Papers - See You in Paris! collection - #04 & #05 I tore pieces to add to the sides of the layout, using both sides of the paper.

I flicked some of Distress Oxide Inks over the page.

I used both Mintay Papers - See You in Paris! collection - #04 & #05 to make three tags. The tags were cut using the Tim Holtz, Sizzix Thinlits, Tag collection die set. I tied some ribbon into the top of each tag, and arranged them across the centre of the page. The three photos were mounted over the tags.

With some flowers fussy cut from the scraps, I placed these around the layout, mounted with some 3D foam pads.

I made some letters for the title using the Sweetheart Bazzill, and a Sizzix Bigz die. I used the P13 phrase stickers from the kit to add the layout.

The date was made with Alphabet Soup stickers from Doodlebug Designs.

I used the Papermania Bare Basics wooden dots on the page above the tags and photos.

Finally, I used the three heart stickers from the kit.

That's all for the February kit, back with the March kit soon.
