July Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today, sharing the second pair of layouts using the pretty Papermaze kit for July. This kit is packed with soft, natural colours and includes double-sided patterned papers,  Bazzill Basics cardstock and a whole bunch of co-ordinating embellishments. There is also a pack of matching Bazzill Basics sheets, available to compliment the kit.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit.

The photo below shows both sides of the papers.

Patterned Papers:
49 and Market - Joanne Bain - Little Celebrations - Whimsy & Luminous
P13 - Beautiful Moments - #02 & #06
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Woodlands - Let's Explore
Stamperia - Timeless Collection - Roses Tapestry

Embellishments:
Tim Holtz - Idea-ology clippings - Stickers
P13 - Chipboard Circles
G45 - Pearls
Prima - Return to Wonderland - 2 Vintage Wonderland Frames
Prima - A Mermaid's Tail - Flower
49 and Market - Moonlit Garden - washi tape - stamps
12" Lace

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Lagoon, Pigment (included in Kit), Tutu Pink, Powder Blue, Star Dust & Cinnamon Stick (in Extra pack).

A Mother's Love - This photo goes back to my wedding day (41 years ago), and shows Mum and me on the patio in her garden just before leaving home for the church.

In order to use both sides of this paper, I needed a 12" x 12" sheet of scrap paper, to mount the cut pieces onto. I cut P13 - Beautiful Moments - #06 in half to give me two pieces 12" x 6", and placed them onto the scrap paper, and stuck them in place. I covered the join in the paper with the cream lace from the kit.

From the Stamperia - Timeless Collection - Roses Tapestry I cut two pieces, 6" x 4", and mounted them on the top half of the page to show both side of the paper. These were overlapping one another, and created a backdrop for the photo.

I mounted the photo on a scrap of Star Dust Bazzill, gutted from a previous layout. and placed this in the centre of the page.

I used a Dusty Attic chipboard piece - 'A mother's Love', and prepared it with a coat of Gesso. Over this I applied Distress inks, then a coat of Glossy Accents. This was placed at the bottom right of the layout.

From the kit, I selected a few of the Tim Holtz - Idea-ology clippings - Stickers and placed them to the right of the photo. Then above this, I used one the P13 - Chipboard Circles and the three 49 and Market - Moonlit Garden - washi tape - stamps

With a pack of 49 and Market - One Perfect Day, Laser Cut Out Wildflower, I selected three clusters of flowers, and a few leaf fronds, I used 3D foam pads to apply these around the page.
From the
Let's Explore paper I cut some tiny butterflies and scattered these over the page, together with the gold and silver G45 Pearls from the kit.

Red Roses for a Blue Lady - My daughters dressed up for their ballet dance to this song at their annual dance school show.

For this layout I used a Sketch from Paper Issues.

I cut two hearts from the remains of Roses Tapestry paper, I mounted the smaller floral one over the larger green heart. I inked all the edges and placed this to the top left of the sheet of P13 - Beautiful Moments - #02.

I mounted my photos onto some text from an old gardening book I purchased from a charity shop years ago and use for scrapbooking. I inked the edges of these mounts and fanned the photos out across the heart.

I used a doily under the photos, and made a tag from the Pigment Bazzill, for my journalling. I tied some fine, red, jute twine through the hole in the tag, and made a bow. I stuck this to the doily. I cut another doily in half and tucked it under the mount, to the right of the photos.

I made three clusters of red and white paper roses selected from my stash. I punched leaf fronds to add to these clusters using an old Martha Stewart punch.

From the Let's Explore paper; I cut two butterflies and added one to the tag and another to the half doily.  For the title I used some Paige Evans Sugarplum Wishes mini puffy alpha stickers
I also used some Doodlebug Designs Teensy Type alphabet stickers. Finally, I used the black G45 Pearls from the kit.

That's all for today, I'll be back with the August kit in a few weeks.

Thanks for looking.

April Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of the April Papermaze Kit, full of pretty pastel papers, cardstock and embellishments for spring and Easter themed layouts. My layouts have been made using sketches for inspiration.

Before looking at the layouts in detail, here is a reminder of what you will find in the kit.

Patterned Papers:
P13 - Hello Spring - #02 & #06
Echo Park - My Favorite Easter - Happy Day & Picking Plaid
Photo Play - Hop To It - Spring Has Sprung
Lawn Fawn - Watercolor Wishes - Larimar
Bazzill Basics Cardstock: African Daisy & White

Embellishments:
9" washi tape, Lace, banner, 6 easter stickers, 2 3D bows, strip of enamel dots & 5 Perspex domes,
Rosie's Studio Puffy Stickers*

*Mini puffy alpha stickers had to be replaced with Pinkfresh Studios due to supplier issues beyond our control!

Optional Extra Bazzill Basics Pack:

Coral Cream, Nixon, Stonewash & Limeade

Just Pottering - A selection of photos of my children playing with the terracotta pots on the porch, in newly knitted Aran jackets made for them by Aunty Marmite!

I used the Hello Spring #6 paper with the pretty wreaths all over the page. Then I created three large wreaths using a die from my collection I cut each one in Limeade and Nixon Bazzill from the kit. I arranged the wreaths across the centre of the paper, overlapping each other.

I printed my photos to fit within the wreathes and stuck them in place. I arranged a selection of paper flowers around the wreathes, choosing colours to match the flowers on the paper.

For the title I used the 'Handmade' Sizzix BigzXL die and cut the letters twice with Coral Cream and Nixon Bazzill from the kit. I also used Pinkfresh Studio Puffy Alpha Stickers (Happy Blooms).

The journalling was written onto white cardstock and cut into narrow strips. I inked the edges with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. The journalling was arranged under the title.

The sketch I used came from Bella BLVD.

Spring, Spring, Spring ... - A layout for my daughters' dance album, showing them dressed for a dance school show.

I picked a selection of Distress Oxide Inks to match the colours in the Picking Plaid paper. I mixed each ink colour with a little water and splashed it onto the white Bazzill.

I cut a piece from the dotty side of the Larimar paper 20cm x 27cm and over this I placed a piece of Stonewash Bazzill 19cm x 26cm. This was glued in place on the left of the page. A strip of Picking Plaid (plaid side up) cut to 7.5cm x 30.5cm and placed to the left side of the previous piece. With the lace from the kit I ran this down the left side of the paper.

Another piece of Picking Plaid (flower side up) was cut to 18cm x 8cm and placed horizontally, butting up against the first piece.  I stuck the washi tape from the kit to white card and trimmed it with a scalloped border punch. This was place below the floral paper.

I printed off six small photos, and mounted them using scraps of Limeade, Coral Cream and Limeade Bazzill. The photos were arranged and glued into place on the page.

From the scraps of Picking Plaid, I fussy cut a selection of tulips and daffodils and arranged them onto the layout.

My title is made with Sizzix Thinlits Varsity alphanumeric set, cutting each letter in a different colour of Bazzill cardstock. For the smaller letters I used the
Rosie's Studio puffy alpha stickers from the kit and some hand written journalling.

To finish off I added several items from the kit - the waterdrops, one of the P13 round stickers and I placed the enamel dots on the flower centres of the lace. I added some gems and pearls from my stash too.

I used a sketch from Pagemaps

This concludes my layouts from the April Kit, I will be back soon with mew layouts from the May Kit.
Thanks for looking

Photoplay Notting Hill - Reading with Nana

Hello, Karen here. Today I'm sharing another scrapbook layout using the fabulous Notting Hill collection from Photoplay.

The starting point for this layout was a sketch from a few years ago posted on Susan Stringfellow's Sketch Savvy blog. I like this sketch because it includes multiple photos of various sizes.

First I took a sheet of white Bazzill Cardstock, trimmed about 1cm off of two sides and matted this onto a sheet of red Bazzill Cardstock.

Then I layered pieces of the Currently Reading and Books I Love papers onto the white background.

Three tags were made using the Book Nerd Paper and these were also added to the layout. Reinforcing rings made from some of the blue Books I Love paper and bows of white twine were added to the tag tops.

My three photos were then matted on white cardstock and placed on top of the papers and tags.

Stickers from the sticker sheet were used as embelishments.

I dug into my stash and used some very old Lime Green chipboard letters and some Navy Blue Pink Paislee Foam Thickers to create a title near the bottom of the layout. When creating a title I like to nestle this into other elements and was able to do that with the words 'with Nana' nestling between the letter G of the word 'Reading' and one of the tags.

Some of the ephemera die cuts were added to the layout too.

Finally the date was added to the layout using more of the foam Thickers and everything was outlined with a black Uni Ball Signo pen.

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back again soon with another layout.

Take Care

'Happy' with Photoplay's Sweet as Honey

Hello! ScrappyAdam back with you today and I am continuing on with using various Photoplay collections - mixing and matching them because lots of the new releases work so well together! Today's is a little different because I haven't done much mixing! I have used, almost exclusively, Tulla and Norbert's Sweet as Honey collection - and I absolutely LOVE this collection!

I started with the lovely woodgrain paper - the B side of Tweet Tweet which I used as my background. I then took some strips of patterned paper, using three of the papers (and a mix of A and B Sides) and tore some of the strips. I then used my notebook punch to create a notebook style strip towards the top. For the bold, black strip that I tore, I made sure to gradually increase the width as I went from one side to the other.

I decided to use three photos and mine are all 3x4" and are matted together on piece of the B Side of Buzzing By. I popped my photos up on some foam for some added dimension.

It was then a case of embellishing! This collection has a sticker sheet and an ephemera pack and I have used a mix of both on this layout. I created an embellishment cluster at the bottom of the page where I used the sticker sheet to create the title; "Happy" and used some more patterned paper strips.

I created a circle and then cut it in half and used both sides as some extra interest to the top right and tucked a flair underneath the notebook paper.

This was a fairly quick layout for me with the strips of patterned paper, photo and title placement doing most of the work. I love this design for a scrapbook layout as it allows your photos to shine but gives you fun with the products!

I will be back in August where I am carrying on with my mix and match of Photoplay because I still have so much left!

Do you like to mix collections? Do you mix collections within the same brand or mix and match completely? I like to do a mix of everything but find stash diving for bits and pieces once I have the base of a layout done so much fun!

Don't forget to check out the shop - there is so many new goodies on their way and arriving everyday!

Till next time, take care and stay safe - and happy scrapping!

Disney Inspired Collections - Magic at Chef Mickey's

Welcome back to the Papermaze Blog! ScrappyAdam with you today with another layout using a mix of Echo Park and Simple Stories. For this layout, I have used an exclusive sketch from Dotty About Flair as my initial inspiration as it just grabbed me and I wanted to use that blue background!

I started off with the Happy Magic Memories paper from Say Cheese Main Street which was this fab ledger paper in blue with some red lines. The sketch basically called for a strip of patterned paper across the middle and then lots of little strips from the middle to the bottom. I used a variety of papers from the Say Cheese 6x8" Paper Pad and the Echo Park A Magical Place 6x6" Mega Pad. For the strips across the middle I used a strip of Smile Words, white cardstock, B Side of Balloons and B Side of Here We Go.

I have used two 4x4" photos which I have matted on Full of Smiles and then a longer strip of Here We Go, the red side once again and for this second mat, I have torn the top and bottom - I do really like the texture and look of torn paper on layouts!

The base of my layout done, it was then a case of embellishing!

I have used a combination of embellishments from both collections. I have used the Brads, Sticker Book, Ephemera and Elements Sticker from Echo Park as well as a Chipboard from an older Echo Park collection and then some stickers, foam stickers and ephemera from Simple Stories. I have also added two flair from Dotty About Flair and a puffy sticker!

I added my title with alpha's from the Echo Park sticker book and "Magic" was from the 12x12" Stickers from Simple Stories.

Finally, I felt like the top right was missing something and so I layered five banner pieces from the collections with a scrap of patterned paper and two phrase stickers which pulled the layout together and finished it off!

This layout is part of an album/section all about our character dining at Chef Mickey's and so there isn't any journaling on this page as there is/will be on other pages.

I am going to carry on with this Disney combo kit into June as I have so much left and I am working on a smaller album to share with you through June!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to have a read of the blog today! Take care, stay safe and see you all back here soon! Happy Scrapping!
