July Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today, with the pretty pastel July Papermaze Kit, and my second pair of Design Team layouts. Such a lovely kit with double-sided papers, Bazzill cardstock and a selection of embellishments. This second pair of layouts, are from two different children's farm visits, back in the 1990's.

Before looking at how the layouts were made - here is a peek at what you will find in the kit.

49 and Market - From The Garden collection - Wildflower & Foxglove
49 and Market - Travel Diaries collection - Sheet 1
Graphic 45 - Always & Forever collection - Regency Blue Pattern & Solid Sheet
Uniquely Creative - Tea & Tranquillity collection - Quiet Daydreams & Garden Sanctuary

This photo shows both side of the papers:

Embellishments:
2 Petaloo Flowers
1 Craft Consortium Dragonflies
1 Dovecraft Frame
3 Rosie’s Studio Jubilee Wax Seals
3 Uniquely Creative Ticket Washi Tape Stickers
50cm Twine
1 Mintay Chipboard Clock

Bazzill Basics Cardstock
Lagoon, Twig (included in kit), Avalanche, Smoky, Petunia & Nixon (extra Bazzill pack)

Farmyard Fun - My daughter Emily enjoying an evening at the children's petting farm, in the Wheatsheaf Inn in the village of West Beckham, Norfolk.

The base for this layout is a sheet of white cardstock, I used a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil THS070 to create a soft background, with Distress oxide inks. Then I tore two strips from the
Uniquely Creative - Tea & Tranquillity collection - Quiet Daydreams. The wider stripe border was approx. 12" x 2" and the pink script side 12" x 1.5". these were placed to the right side of the layout, with the polka dot, barcode strip from the same paper, positioned in-between the two papers.

I tore six of the large squares from the
Garden Sanctuary paper, then layered these over-lapping one another in two rows at the centre of the layout. I did not add glue to the very edges of these squares as I wanted to tuck embellishments around the edges later.

From the other side of the
Garden Sanctuary I selected and fussy cut tags and tickets. I punched holes into the top of the tags. These were arranged around the squares. I placed two photos onto the squares, leaving room for the title.

The title was cut twice on the Cricut, once in Nixon Bazzill and the second time, in the striped side of Quiet Daydreams paper. These were layered up to create a shadow, and placed above the photos.

I added a little Baker's Twine to two of the tags.

The date was added with some puffy number stickers. Finally, I decorated the layout with 49 and Market, Laser cut elements from the Whispering Way collection.

Down on the Farm - My girls at Godstone farm, a twins club outing, we were accompanied by their Aunty and her girls.

I gutted the
49 and Market - Travel Diaries collection - Sheet 1 paper, to make a 1" border, over this I machine stitched a 11" x 11" piece of Regency Blue Pattern & Solid Sheet paper. I rounded the corners of this paper before stitching it in place. The cut edges of all the papers were inked with Distress Ink.

With the piece gutted from the
Travel Diaries collection - Sheet 1, (beige side up), trimmed down to 8" x 8", also with the corners rounded. I stitched this onto the centre of the layout.

A scrap of the Regency Blue Pattern & Solid Sheet paper, trimmed to 1" x 10.5" was arranged across the middle of the page. on top of this and slightly lower I added a scrap of Foxglove paper after trimming one edge with a scalloped border punch. Both these pieces were inked with Distress ink.

I selected two photos, one was mounted onto a scrap of Quiet Daydreams paper, the other was mounted under the metallic copper Dovecraft Frame from the kit. These were arranged onto the page.

I fussy cut three more tags from the
Garden Sanctuary paper, punched holes in the tops and tied them together with some natural twine. these were spread out and stuck to the bottom right of the photos, ready for my journalling.

I used a selection of alphabet stickers to create my title, which I placed under the photos. To embellish, I used two
Rosie’s Studio Jubilee Wax Seals from the kit and more of the 49 and Market, Laser cut elements from the Whispering Way collection.

That's all for today, back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.

December Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Happy New Year!
Lynn here today, back with the second post sharing Christmas layouts for this year. The December kit is available in the shop, it has a traditional red, green and white colour pallet. The papers are beautiful and include Mintay, Simple Stories and Graphic 45.

Before we look at how the layouts were made, here is what you will find in the kit:

Patterned Papers:
Mintay Papers - Holly Jolly collection - #02 & #04
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Believe collection - Holiday Traditions & Tag Elements
Simple Stories - All Wrapped Up collection - Magical Season
Graphic 45 - Deck the Halls collection - A Little Sparkle

The photo below shows both sides of the papers:

Embellishments:
Simple Stories - Vintage Believe - Foam Stickers & Floral Bits and Pieces
Mintay Chippies - Xmas Wreath
Rosie's Studio - Oh Joyful Day - Button
Pretty Little Studio - Comfort and Joy - Holly Jolly Word Titles
Divine Twine - Green Apple
Doodlebug Designs - Doilies Ladybug
Gold enamel dots

Bazzill Basics - Aspen, Grenadine (included in kit), Cinnamon Stick, Coconut Swirl, Cinder and Parakeet.

Merry & Bright - My nephew and his family took a trip to Lapland UK last December, this layout shows a group photo from this exciting day out.

My first task for this layout was to gut the A Little Sparkle paper, giving me a frame of 12" x 12" and 1" deep. I trimmed a sheet of Bazzill White cardstock to 11" x 11".

With two colours of Distress Ink (Barn Door and Rustic Wilderness, slightly watered down, I lightly splattered over the cardstock, to take away from the starkness of the white.

I divided the Tag Elements sheet to separate the 15 tags. The I selected 8 of them to use on my layout. I printed out the large photo with a white border, and arranged this with the tags and one of the Doilies Ladybug on the cardstock, without sticking anything down.

Once I was happy with the arrangement, I inked the edges of the tags, punched a hole in the tops and applied a large red eyelet each one. Then everything was glued into place. The Divine Twine - Green Apple from the kit was threaded through the eyelets, and caught into place with a few spots of glue.

I embellished the layout using the Button and Gold enamel dots from the kit. The title is a foam Sticker Holly Jolly Word Titles, also supplied in the kit.

From my own Christmas embellishments, I added Simple Stories Vintage Christmas Lodge Farm Foam Stickers, and a little clay gingerbread man. I used some old Basic Grey Alphabet Stickers for the date.
As I had already used the gold enamel dots from the kit, I found some more from my own stash to add to this page.

Our Dear Reindeer - Our granddaughter last Christmas sporting a set of reindeer antlers, and enjoying a spear of asparagus.

I selected a sheet of Kraft Bazzill from my own stash for the background, and stencilled some stars over it. I used Picket Fence Distress Ink and a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil - Sparkle.

I painted the Mintay Chippies - Xmas Wreath, with Distress Paints - Lumberjack Plaid for the berries and Peeled Paint with Shabby Shutters over the leaves. Then I coated the whole wreath with Glossy Accents for some shine. I set this aside to dry.

Meanwhile, I built up the layers on the layout. I used my Cricut to create the shapes, and cut them from the remains of A Little Sparkle paper. I cut the same shapes a little larger from Cinnamon Stick Bazzill to frame the paper. I cut a 6.5" x 7" piece from Holiday Traditions, and a 3" x 9" piece of Magical Season. Both these pieces were mounted on more of the Cinnamon Bazzill, I gutted some bazzill from the largest piece, to use as a mount for the photo.

All these mounted papers and the photo were arranged on the Kraft Bazzill witout sticking down. I arranged two pieces of burlap in place on the layout. I backed the dry wreath with another piece of Holiday Traditions paper. These were all glued down.

I had some old alpha stickers that were the wrong colour for this layout, but I stuck the numbers '2024' into the centre of the wreath and drew around them with marker pen. I removed the stickers, and painted some watered down Barn Door Distress Ink between the pen lines. I added a December sticker from my stash.

From the remains of the Tag Elements sheet, I selected a tag and mounted it onto the layout with 3D foam pads. I tucked two decorative pins through the hole. I cut the top of another tag, and tucked this under the photo, I added two more pins as before.

My title was cut using the Cricut, using Cinnamon Stick and Grenadine Bazzill, I layered these up to create a shadow.

Finally, I embellished the layout with Simple Stories Vintage Christmas Lodge Farm Foam Stickers

That's all from the December kit. I'll be back with a new wintery kit for January in a few weeks' time.
Thanks for looking,
Lynn x

December Journal With A Difference

Hello! Lisa here, is it too early for Christmas?
I don't think that's a thing when you are a crafter. We need to be organised when it comes to Christmas don't we?! : )

Well this new journal of mine was an idea almost a year ago.
Documenting Christmas can feel so overwhelming. So I decided to make it easier.
I saw this title of this book and thought it would be perfect as we moved to the country 2 Christmases ago.
The plan is to document each Christmas just over a couple of pages.

You can watch my tutorial here how I turn this book into a journal.

And to decorate inside I've used the Vicki Boutin Collection - Mistletoe Memories here.

I love adding pom pom trims and little bits and pieces that hang over.

I cut out lots of these tags for this and stapled them at the tops and along the sides.

And they look great inside too.

And I used these Doodlebug puffy stickers.

And these Rosie's Studio stickers are a perfect match.

I made a hole in each of the tags and tied string to add another texture.

And to finish off I've cut off bits of fabric and stapled to the tops of the pages.

I love this look.

I'm so happy with how this turned out.

It's going to be so fun to fill up!

I hope this inspires you today.

How do you document Christmas?

Lisa xx

August Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Lynn here today with the bright, summery August kit, which has been great fun to work with. Here are the first two layouts I have created with this kit. The kit is now available in store and online. Two more layouts featuring my granddaughter, one with all four generations and the other from a few weeks ago, washing her favourite soft toy.

Before looking at how the layouts were made, this is what you will find inside the kit:

Patterned Papers:
Doodlebug Designs - Butterfly Kisses collection - Happy Thoughts & Garden Party
Echo Park - Have a Great Summer collection - Best Life Butterflies
Lawn Fawn - Bitsy Blooms collection - Begonia
Photoplay - This Happy Life collection - Sweet Hello
Simple Stories - Crafty Babe collection - Live. Love,.Scrap

The photo above shows both sides of the papers.

2 Doodlebug Designs cupcake doilies, Pretty Little Studio Berry Sweet Word Stickers, flair button, strip of jewels, 6 SS Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Sentiment Bits & Pieces, Pretty Little Studio Word Cut Aparts You Are My Sunshine, Rosie's Studio 2 chipboard pieces Born to Bloom and 6 Doodlebug Designs All Aflutter stickers

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Fussy, Aqua (included in kit), Granny Smith, Tangelo, Pollen and Coconut Swirl (in extra pack).

It's a Girl Thing! - This layout is for my sister's album and shows her with Florence, with all four generations.

I started this layout with the Coconut Swirl Bazzill, then built up the design with several other papers from the kit.

The edges of all cut papers were inked with Distress Inks. I cut a 3" x 11" strip of Best Life Butterflies paper, and placed this to the left of the page. Then layered an 8.5" circle of Garden Party paper on top.

I gutted the Begonia paper and saved the 1" frame for the next layout. The photos were then mounted onto the grid side of the remaining paper. I placed the photos onto the layout. One of the cupcake doilies from the kit was positioned under the left side photo. I cut a 2" white card circle to place over the centre of the doily, and wrote my journalling onto it.

For the title I used a set of Doodlebug Designs Foam Stamps 'Simply Sweet' and some black acrylic paint to stamp the word 'Girl' onto the green side of the Garden Party paper. I cut these letters out and placed them onto the layout. Then with Doodlebug Designs Rub-ons 'All Mixed Up' Large Beetle Black, I added the rest of the title.

Using more Doodlebug Designs Rub-ons 'All Mixed Up', this time small and Medium in Beetle Black, I spelt out the date and the subtitle. Also, from Doodlebug Designs I used some Sew-Easy Rub-on Stitches.

I created a large and small cluster of flowers to reflect the flowers on the papers. I used Bazzill cardstock from the kit and a few other shades from my own stash, and some old leaf and flower dies from my stash.

Bathing Bea Bee - My daughter decided Florence's soft toy bee needed a wash, so decided rather than take it away from her to do this, she involved her in the process of washing and drying the bee. She had a lovely time!

I made a frame for the layout using Begonia, before starting the first layout, and I'm using it here, daisy side up. I trimmed some Coconut Swirl Bazzill to 10.5" x 10.5" and heavily inked the edges with Distress Oxide Ink in Speckled Egg, as this is a great match for the paper.

I used the second doily from the kit over where my smaller photos will go on the right of the layout, and inked through and around it, to create a lacy pattern. With more ink mixed with a little water, I flicked more ink over the page.

Using various patterned paper scraps from the kit (
Live. Love,.ScrapGarden Party and Begonia), I cut some strips and placed them, overlapping one another to the left side of the page. My large photo was placed in the centre of the layout, with two smaller photos to each side.

The title was cut from Black and
Pollen Bazzill, using the Spellbinders - Simple Stories - Say Cheese Classic Mouse Alphabet Die Set. These were mounted over one another, to create a shadow, and then arranged on the layout using 3D foam pads of alternate letters to add some texture.

I embellished the layout with items from the kit -  Pretty Little Studio Berry Sweet Word Stickers, flair button, strip of jewels, 6 SS Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe Sentiment Bits & Pieces and Rosie's Studio 2 chipboard pieces Born to Bloom.

This concludes the August kit, although there is still plenty of papers card and embellishments to create another layout.

I'll be back with the September kit very soon.
Thanks for looking.
