Autumn Love ...... Simple Stories Vintage Autumn Splendour

Anita here with you today and I have been using some slightly older papers this time for my pages.

My favourite time of year is the Autumn! I adore the colours, the richness of it all......the hazy golden light of Autumnal sunshine, the earthy scent in the air and the crisp, fresh feeling of cooler mornings and evenings!

This beautiful collection is Vintage Autumn Splendour from Simple Stories and it captures it all.... and is just so lovely to craft with.

So I have combined a single sheet of white cardstock, a few sheets from the Vintage Autumn Collection pack and added bubble wrap and acrylic paint to the mix.

I decorate my sideboard each year as the seasons change and I always look forward to the gorgeous tones that come with Autumn.....I also enjoy using the Snapchat App and when this pumpkin filter appeared obviously I had to grab a pic using it!

I used the bubble wrap to create the pattern in the background on the white card.....bubble wrap is lovely to use to add paint, ink, texture paste etc for a varied effect each time you use it, plus its cheap and fairly easy to purchase. I used 3 colours of paint and gently dabbed it onto the bubble wrap using a chunk of sponge to apply it with.

I basically just cut sections out from  4 x 4 Elements

and the  2 x 2 Elements sheets, gently inked the edges and then layered them up, placing foam pads behind some. I scattered them down the left side of the page and along the bottom. I also used some to layer up to decorate the top right of the page and next to the photo just to finish the page off

I will be back in a few days with my 2nd layout using this gorgeous collection.

If you love Autumn too,, why not have a look around the SHOP, there is a great selection of Autumnal papers to be found HERE

Happy Crafting!

Friends Make The Good Times Better ... Kaisercraft Morning Dew

Hello again, it's Anita here with you today.

This month I am working with the gorgeous Morning Dew Collection from Kaisercraft, full of calm and relaxing colours, natural elements and general good feeling.

We recently spent a few lovely days away with some very dear friends of ours and had some great days out walking and exploring local beauty spots and just enjoying each others company. One of the sheets in the collection, Refresh , has some really lovely quote panels on it about friendship....so I knew it would be perfect to use to scrap a memory of our time away together.

I based the layout on a sheet of Rejuvenate that I cut down to 11" x 11" and then placed it onto the reverse side of a sheet of Serene this created a lovely polka dot frame around the edge.

Using some bubble wrap I sponged on some white acrylic paint and stamped it onto the background and I also used some 49 and Market Gabi's Line Stitch stamps with paint around the edges.
When the paint had dried I picked at the entire edge of the inner layer to distress the edges and create some texture.

I gently sponged white paint onto the edges of my photo and then matted it on a piece of Exhale before fussy cutting some clusters of flowers from a sheet of Serene

Using Stickles in Unicorn I added a few highlights to the flower centres for a little sparkle and also onto the wings of a couple of butterflies that I cut from the sheet of Refresh
I added some tiny word stickers from Pretty Little Studio

I also cut some quotes and panels from the Refresh sheet and sponged the edges gently with paint before adding them to the page.
In my stash I found some metallic craft sand in colours that complimented the papers, so added this in a few areas for some more texture on the page.

Some crystal swirls were added beneath the butterflies to leave pretty, sparkly trails and to just finish the page off.

I have really enjoyed creating this page , not only was it in my favourite colourway, but it also has such lovely sayings, patterns and elements in it. You can find the entire range here .

Thank you for looking today x

Warmest wishes

Me and My Girl ....... Prima Georgia Blues.

Hello Again.

It's Anita here with my 3rd and last layout created using the beautiful Georgia Blues Collection from Prima. These papers are an absolute pleasure to create with and I am rather sad that I am at the end of my stash of them ( I think I shall have to be putting in a order for some just to squirrel away and keep just to stroke and admire!!) I had one whole sheet left in my DT kit and some scraps from other sheets left over and I knew they were just right for this photo of my youngest daughter and I on her prom night.

I based the layout on a sheet of The Watermark and used the reverse side, that has gentle filing around the edges. Using one of the stitches stamps from the 49 and Market Gabi's Line Stitch set I dabbed it with a Distress Stain in Blueprint Sketch and stamped around the edges of the page from each corner. I also used some bubble wrap that I removed from the centre of a jiffy bag ( it was tiny bubbles and just perfect!) and chose 3 colours of acrylic paint, Cobalt Blue, Platinum and Silver. These were gently sponged onto the bubbles and then laid onto the page, pressing gently so as not to pop the bubbles.

I took some Dusty Chipboard from my own stash ( there is a great selection of various chipboard embellishents in the shop) and gave it a watercolour brushover with some blue paint and then added Silver Beadazzles, Blue Glitter and Silvery Liquid Pearls onto the berries.

I used up left over strips and panels from the sheets of Memory Lane and Written Chapters which were gently inked around the edges using an old brown inkpad. These strips were then layered up across the page before adding the photo which was printed in a 5 x 5 format.

I used Pink Fresh Studio Puffy alphabet stickers for my Title in black. These are available in a variety of colours in the shop.

I added a piece of cotton lace below the photograph.

And then added the chipboard spray when the glue and Liquid Pearls had dried.

I also printed out some butterflies, which I fussy cut and added in various paces on the layout to finish it off.

So that's it....I am all out of delicious Georgia Blues papers now....gutted! At least its a good excuse to pop over to the SHOP and do a little retail therapy isn't it???

See you next month, I hope you liked my layout xx

Warmest wishes
