Words to Live by.....Wildflower from Kaisercraft.

Hello....
It's Anita here with you today and I would like to share with you a layout I have made using the delightful Wildflower collection from Kaisercraft ...a range of beautiful papers, combining watercolour prints in a beautiful pastel colour palette.....with the added beauty of soft florals and delicate butterflies.

The designs are very soft and although pastel, also have little twists of citrus tones in patches which work really well. I matted all the elements with black cardstock to really make then *pop* and create dimension without too much added actual *depth*

I often prefer to scrap using black and white photo's and today was no exception....although these papers would carry a coloured photo well, I really felt that black and white would sit best on there and I chose a photo of our youngest daughter, taken on a family holiday in 2010. I still look at it and wonder just what she was thinking as she stared at the camera.

I used a sheet of  Spring and trimmed a thin slice from 2 sides, I then popped this onto a sheet of Raven Bazill to create a frame all round.

I cut some flowers and different shaped panels from a sheet of  In Bloom and then also matted these onto black cardstock, I also did the same for the quotes that were taken from a sheet of  Gathered and I popped the photo onto a black mat.

I layered the various panels and then took the sheet of  Wings, cutting out several butterflies. These were then adhered to the page to look like they were gently fluttering past and finished off with a delicate sprinklng of Stickles to make the wings glisten.

This really is a truly beautiful collection from Kaisercraft and will cover a range of subjects I think. After suffering from a total lack of mojo of late this actually came out rather nice and I am really quite pleased with it.

Thanks for looking and I would like to wish you all a super weekend.
Warmest wishes
Anita x

Happy Everyday - Scrapbooking Process - with video link

Hello!!  It's Lisa with you today and I'm using the delightful Amy Tangerine - Oh Happy Life papers. They are such happy papers. If you would like to see a video of me creating this paper, you can watch it here.

These papers just ooze happiness and you just can't help but feel anything other than happy when you use them. I had so much fun creating. I'll show you how this page came together.

I used the papers from here. I love the papers with all the bits and pieces. It's so much fun cutting them up to use.

This was the first time that I've used one of the Kaisercraft stencils. There are quite a few to choose from. Take a look here. I used 2 different coloured paints to create this effect. I just used a very small amount of paint on the end of my brush and I dabbed rather than painted to create this look.

I continued on using the papers and cut some flowers to use too to embellish my photo.

I printed off my journaling on my pc and cut in to strips. Then I added a little sewing too.

I love all these colours and adding a little sewing adds lovely texture.

I'm really pleased with this page and it came together so quickly. Signs of a great paper line I think.
I hope you've enjoyed this as much as I have creating it. Thanks for joining me today. Lisa x

Doodlebug Designs ~ Spring Things

Hello, it's Anna here today.
I have been enjoying working with Doodlebug's Spring Things collection this month, which is just so lovely and perfect for Spring.
I love this time of year, when the days get longer and the sun starts to shine. I find that I take more photographs too.
I took some pictures of myself and my son at Framlingham Castle on a day out over the Easter holidays. With the sun shining, I decided to use them for my first 'Spring Things' layout. I printed them out square and worked my layout around them.

I used the 'baby blooms' patterned paper. I cut out three of the patterned squares and measured a fourth to the same shape with some cardstock.
To make the boarder, I cut four thin strips of patterned paper using my paper trimmer.

Thanks for looking.

Echo Park Once Upon a Time Princess

This month I was so excited to use Echo Park Once Upon a Time Princess paper line.  This line is absolutely beautiful and combines all the elements needed for any princess, there are florals and bright feminine colours as well as wonderful princess themed co-ordinating background papers.  There is also a matching gorgeous range called Once Upon a Time Prince for all those little prince photos you may have.

I decided to take on a rather large project this month.  Earlier this year I participated in a number of princess running races in Orlando and earned some gorgeous medals that needed to be displayed.  What better opportunity to use a princess themed paper range!

I started off with a large piece of white poster board and roughly placed my medals and running bibs where I wanted them.  I then went about getting rid of the huge white space with various spray inks in a berry tone (you can find some similar here).  After the inks had dried I realised I wanted to add a little bit of sparkle to the background so I used the Tim Holtz Scribbles Stencil with some glittery texture paste to go in between each medal.  It is quite hard to see the pattern now everything has been placed but it really does give a lovely shimmer behind the medals.

I then took several photos from the races and placed them around the medals using co-ordinating pieces of paper from the range.  I also used multiple stickers from the sticker elements sheets.  These sticker sheets are absolutely fabulous to compliment any paper range; they have so many elements and are the perfect finishing touches to layouts or cards.

Even though the finished piece is a little "busy", I really like how this bold project turned out.  The papers emphasise the fun of the races and match the colours of my medals and the bibs.

I hope you enjoyed this project, thanks for reading xxxx
