More Crate Paper...

I just can't seem to get enough of this new Portrait Collection from Crate Paper. I love how bright and bold some of the papers are, whilst still being sophisticated.

This LO came together really easily, once I had spent a bit of time cutting out some flowers from the Bouquet paper, They were simple and quick to layer up for a dimensional effect. I used silicone glue to keep the flowers raised up.

The background was created by using a Martha Stewart Edger Punch on strips of the Vintage Lace paper, and layering them with strips of real lace.

The photo was framed with a gorgeous wooden Flourish from Kaisercraft. Although Papermaze has none of these, there is a whole new range of these gorgeous wooden embelishments here

Final day

Happy Easter everyone - I hope you've all had a lovely day, and not eaten too many eggs! This is the final day of our egg hunt, so all you have to do is solve this clue and email me the answers. You need to list the product title and manufacturer where each egg is hidden and send the list to vanessa@papermaze.co.uk. You have until 5pm on Tuesday 26th April and shortly afterwards we'll draw our winner!

So, there's only one thing left to do - give you the final clue:

Which children's television programme featured the characters George and Zippy?

I really hope you've enjoyed our Easter Egg hunt :)

It's time for....

...our annual Easter Egg hunt!!! I know many of you have played along in the past, but if you are new to the game it's very easy :) Every day for the next week we will be hiding an Easter Egg somewhere on the Papermaze site. Your job is to find them! With over 12000 products listed on the site that might seem a little daunting, so we'll give you a bit of help. Every day we will give you a clue on the blog - so you need to come on here, work out the clue, go on to the website and find the egg! Keep the answers safe until Easter Sunday, by which time you should have found seven eggs. All you have to do then is email me with your answers. A winner will be chosen at random from all those who have the correct answers, and they will win a pizza box filled with lots of the latest goodies, worth at least £25 :)

So, on to the first clue - and make sure you pop by tomorrow for the next one! Here goes:

This was a big hit in 1984 for John Waite.

Happy hunting!

Crate Paper Portrait Collection

Of the three new collections in Papermaze by Crate Paper, the 'Portrait Collection' is possibly my favorite (it is very close though!)

I have made a few pages with this gorgeous new line, but today I am going to show you one which is a bit different to usual.

Instead of using a photo as the main focus, I wanted to document the little notes and letters that our Daughter often writes for us. I mounted this note onto a bright cardstock, and added a filmstrip of much smaller photos of Izabelle underneath.

I used the 'June' paper as a backdrop, which is perfectly subtle, but not plain. I added a small Maya Road Kraft Envelope , topped with a button, twine and pin to hold some more of her little notes.

The border stickers are perfect for layering up together. I added a few small crystals to highlight them.

KAISER CRAFT TIMELESS COLLECTION

Wow i just love these Kaisercraft papers - so perfect for heritage layouts! This is something i don't tend to do, but i had this picture that just needed to be scrapped ... I am so happy with how the layout turned out and hope you are too and can find some inspiration...

The main thing i wanted to achieve with this layout was defiantly attention to detail. The clocks i cut from the patterned paper and then covered with transparency - it might be hard for you to see but the effect is really good..

Stitching on this layout i felt added texture - why not try stitching using raffia like I have! Click on the layout for more close ups xxxx

Making Memories Je t'adore

It happened to be a very special year for me last year - I was lucky enough to get married to my hubby back in July 2010, but I hadn't scrapped any photos of our day - this had to change when I saw the Making Memories Je t'adore range. These papers are so classic, without being too grown up or old-fashioned for my tastes.

The lovely reds, pinks and creams worked beautifully as a backdrop for this photo of us sharing a kiss while we signed the register. I just layered up a few blocks of paper with a bit of stamping and made a feature of the title - the lyrics from a song I like, which I finished in my own handwriting elsewhere on the layout. The title stickers are by American Crafts and October Afternoon.

The beautiful diamante swirl was so eyecatching, it negated the need for much else in the way of embellishment. I simply carried the crystal theme through by using some as centres for the little red flowers dotted around the rest of the layout. All it needed then were some beautiful love quote stickers by 7Gypsies.

I'm really pleased with my first wedding layout - hopefully this will be the inspiration I need to get on with some more!

It gives me great pleasure....

to introduce you to our newest design team member.....Kim Sonksen...

Here is what she has to say about herself....

My name is Kim and I live with my boyfriend of 13 years on the wonderful Isle of Wight. I started my obsession with scrapbooking in December 2004 and this love affair with paper and glue shows no sign of wearing off.

I love mixing and matching product lines from various Manufacturers and add a splash of paint and mists here and there. Fussy cutting and using embellishment clusters is also high on my list of favourite techniques.

It is so exciting to be part of the Papermaze Team and I cannot wait to hopefully inspire you with some of my work.

As you can see from the projects below Kim is amazing paints and mists.....

The card was made using Promarkers, Sassafras Lass and Bazzill
The layout using My Minds Eye
And another layout using My Minds Eye and Jenni Bowlin

we are so excited to  see what Kim is going to come up with in the future.....welcome to the team!!!!
