Hi Tracee with you today to share another project I created using the April Kit. You can see my first project using the kit here

This time I created a little gift for a new baby girl, consisting of an Easel card with a drawer and a gift box. Inside the little drawer there is a small Minibook with space for the new parents to add some photo's

 

I attached the Kraft envelope to the main part of the easel card and added a tag that pulls out and a couple more pics can be added.

 

 

 

The little mini album is made from tag shapes and I used some of the string to hold them all together.

 

 

 

I used scraps of the papers from the kit to decorate the tags.

 

On the sheet of alpha stickers there are quite a few different images along with the letters and I added a few of these here and there through the minibook

New Home Card

Hi, Carol here with you today.  Have you seen the new Paperartsy stamps that are now in store….I just adore those Darcy Eclectica stamps and just to show that they can be used for just about anything my next few posts will be  based using the sets that are available in store…

For this new home card I've used Eclectica3 - EDY08 which is available here…

I started off with a 6x6 white card blank and stamped the house directly onto the card….I also stamped the image onto an old book page.

Using my distress inks, I mixed broken china and weathered wood and coloured the tower, chimney and the metal side of the house, using festive berries I painted the roof.  By adding more distress ink at the edges I was able to add depth to the stamped image - the lighter shade had lots of water and very little ink…just be careful not to saturate your card.  A small amount of the ink was added to the bottom of the house to give it a grounding.

The door, window and cogs were cut out of the book pages and added to the image.

The edges were doodled with a black paint pen.

Next time I will be showing you a project using some of the other stamps in the set.

A Month of Cards in One Hour

Hello, it's Lisa with you today.
I am going to share my month of cards with you.

I've been so rubbish with sending out cards this year and I really hate to have to buy a card, so I've just looked through my dairy and planned every card that needs to be sent this month and made them all in one go. And the best bit. It's only taken me an hour.

Here they are.

I'll show you how they were made.
First things first, gather up your supplies first.

I used these pretty Prima ATC cards and the stickers to go with them along with some card blanks.

I've kept the designs pretty similar to save on time.
Some like this one here, I inked the edge of the ATC card and then stuck on to some scrap paper and trimmed around the edge allowing for a decent sized border.

The mounted ATC's were stuck on the card blanks and this one I misted over a mask.

I also cut some the the ATC cards up to add bits and pieces.

I stamped on some of the cards and added different stickles for some glittery effects. I've also used a couple of paper punches on some of the spare ATC cards.

 

Three of them have a painted background. I added water to the paintbrush and held the cards up to let the watered down paint drip.

 

 

I also typed up some greetings and cut into strips to add to some of the cards. The edges were inked and the strips were crumpled before sticking in place.

I now have 7 cards ready to send.

I've added a few diamantes on some of them too.

The stickles make such a difference.

Prima Engraver Papers...

 

Hi All, I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter Bank Holiday!

this long weekend, I have had a chance to play with my stash, and I have been enjoying pulling out some of my old papers. One of my all time favourite lines is Prima Marketing Engraver Collection.

Below you will see why. This is one of very few paper collections I have found that can suit any genre, theme or colour scheme you want it to become. The colours are all neutral, and so it leaves the option to add any colours you wish to personalise it or coordinate it with other products you have.

 

On my first project here, an Art Journal Page, I have coloured my background (Engraver - Roulette) with ink sprays to make it pink and red.

 

 

Then, using the same papers, I have incorporated blue and green flowers instead to give this card a much softer, more feminine feel.

 

 

So despite these products not being the 'latest' collection, I know I can use these again and again for a long time to come. Why not have a browse online for older favourites of yours at www.papermaze.co.uk , or try creating with neutral palette and personalising it with a splash of your own choice of colour?

It's that time of year!!!!

With Easter approaching fast, it must be time for our annual Easter Egg hunt!! We know how much you enjoy doing this as we've already had people asking if we're doing it this year, and so here we are, hiding an egg in our store every day until Easter!  For those of you who are new to this - or who may need reminding how it works, let me explain a bit more.

Every day for the next week I will give you a clue on the blog. All you have to do is work out the answer and find the egg on the website :) Make a note of the manufacturer and product, then once you have all seven answers you can email them to me (details on Sunday). And, of course, there is a prize to be had! This year we'll be giving away a £25 gift voucher to one lucky person (whose name will be drawn at random!) - and we'll also be giving away three 6x6 pads to three runners up (one pad each!) .

April Kit - Simply Perfect

Hi Tracee with you today sharing a layout I created using the gorgeous April Kit

 

This months kit features the stunning Fresh Cuts collection by Basic Grey, with a few other papers including a pink Polka dot sheet from Carta Bella (my favourite sheet!) and Kaisercraft Choc Chip from the Tea Break collection.

 

 

 

 

The kit always includes a couple of sheets of plain cardstock and this time I started with the white sheet and layered my papers on it in strips across the top and down the right hand side of the page.

 

 

I used a polka dot stencil and some distress ink to add a little interest to the white space in the bottom left side of the layout.

 

This month you also get a sheet of the cute alpha stickers from Pink Paislee sentiment series and a chipboard title that was quite literally "Perfect" for my page.

I will be back later in the month to show you what else I created with this fab kit.

Inky beginnings

Hi, its Carol with you today - have you seen the fabulous new Ranger products that have arrived at Papermaze? I haven't managed to get my hands on those new Dylusion ink sprays yet, but, I will!!, so I thought today, we'd use some of the sprays and distress inks…to make a tag incorporating several techniques…

To start with I cut a tag using the sizzix large tag die, this is now available in the shop, I have had my die for quite some time and I use it a lot! I love making tags and enjoy adding these as decoration to presents for family and friends….so,  tag cut….I used a clear embossing ink with clear powder and stamped and heat embossed some sewing themed stamps to my tag….. I then used my spraying cubicle (a delivery box from Papermaze - with a piece of kitchen roll in the bottom) to spritz my tag - I always do this after spraying my new wooden blinds!!!! fortunately it did clean off, but, I'm not chancing that again!! lol

                            

This tag was spritzed with three inks, dried and spritzed again - the picture shows the first spritz…..

I also cut the mannequin die out of grungepaper and spritzed this with the same inks, I added the white spray ink, lifted up the mannequin and allowed the ink to run down the leg….

Taking a harlequin stencil, I placed this over the tag and spritzed with water, text stamping with black ink and the edges inked with brown ink finished off the tag….

I also coloured some vintage ribbon with the inks…

The bobbin was coloured using distress inks and a piece of string wrapped around, a vintage button and a pin were also added.  The stamped sentiment was from a Technqiue Tuesday stamp set….
