New Glitz Designs Papers...

If you go into the 'New Products' section of our website here, you will find Vanessa is constantly adding gorgeous new products to the site. I have chosen to play with some New Glitz Designs Papers we have had in recently. In particular, one sheet called 'Cashmere Dame - Honeycomb'

The beauty about this paper, as with many in the line, is that all the background work has been done for you! There are distressed hexagons scattered around, and I found it really quick and easy to make this page, which looked as if I had spend a lot more time on it than I actually needed to!

All I did was give my photo a coordinating border with another sheet from the Cashmere Dame line, and cut out a matching strip of bunting from the 'Banner' paper.
Before sticking these down, I spritzed and splated a bit of coordinating yellow and black ink around under where my photo would be.
The only other elements I added was my journaling and title, some twine, a small chipboard sign and some flowers. I kept these all white so they didnt distract from the gorgeous clours on the paper.

You can find the materials I used here...

Prima 'En Francais'

Hi! Its Lou here today with a page I made for Leslie who also works in the shop.
It is of her Husband Andy, which I made using Prima's line 'En Francais'.

The colours of the papers and embellishment suit both girly and masculine pages, and all coordinate so well...

Another layout with the September kit...

Hi folks! Amanda here to share another layout I made with the yummy September kit!

There are lots of little bits and pieces in this kit to add to your projects for that little extra detail.

The kraft circles were punched from the paper bag included in the kit, and I stitched them onto my page. I cut some of them in half before stitching to add a bit of interest.

I added some Ranger Liquid Pearls to create the dimensional silver and yellow pearl dots, too. I'm loving these little bottles of paint at the moment! I also used them to add the lies to the chipboard butterfly.

Have you got your hands on this kit yet? I'd love to see how you are using it!

Time to crop!

I'm not quite sure where the last month has gone, but tomorrow is crop day again!  We'll be at our usual Otley Village Hall from 10am until 5pm with tea, coffee, biscuits and cakes all included :)  There's still spaces, so if you'd like to join us just email the shop!

The crop kit uses some of the latest MME papers and includes techniques such as embossing, sewing and masking.  The photo on here is me as a bridesmaid back in the 70's!

Daytime October Workshops...

Morning all, It's Lou here today. As you may have read in Wendy's post HERE, we are really pleased to announce that Papermaze is finally starting up its classes again, as it has been almost a year since the horrific fire we had! We now have a new Workshop area with more space than before, with refreshments included, and of course during the classes the Papermaze shop will be open for you to browse and stock up if you wish!

We have been listening to peoples comments, and decided to hold some daytime workshops for those of you that cannot make the evening ones.
I will be teaching these myself, and the first one will be on Wednesday October 3rd 10am-12pm. Plenty of time to drop the kiddies off at school and still be home for lunch!

During this first class I will be concentrating on techniques using Mists and Sprays. I know many people love the effects you can get with them but are unsure on how to get the most from them! I shall be showing no less than five different techniques on one page...but dont worry, gloves, newspapers and kitchen towel will be everywhere just in case!

It will be a fun class, where you will leave with a beautiful layout, plus loads of knowledge on how to use one of the most versatile products in Scrapbooking. These techniques can of course also be transfered to your cardmaking or altered projects.

Here is an example of my work, so you can see the style of layout you can expect come away with...

If you are interested in coming to my class, but are concerned that the layout won't suit your style, dont worry! I WILL ALWAYS PRODUCE A GIRLY AND MASCLUINE VERSION OF EACH CLASS PAGE!! So if you only have photos of a little boy, please still come along!

Both mine and Wendy's classes are suitable for both beginners and the more advanced crafters. Each workshop is kept in small friendly groups so that you get the benefit of as much advice and tutoring as you need.

Class prices are around £11 which includes the kit to make your page, use of all our tools and also refreshments throughout. Plus, while you are attending the class, you will get a 10% discount on anything in the shop!  All you need to bring is a photo, and your general basic scrapping tools (ie. scissors, inkpads, glues)

If you are interested in attending the first of the daytime classes on 3rd October, please email me at louizabelle@hotmail.co.uk
Alternatively, if you wanted to enquire about Wendy's evening classes, starting October 10th, please email wendy@bbbweb.com

You do need to email to book your place as we have to have the kits pre prepared. Thanks!

We look forward to seeing many old and hopefully new faces :-)

More ideas with the September Kit!

This month you are spoilt for inspiration using the September Kit from Papermaze, and here is yet another page!

Materials: Sept Kit, eyelets, twine, brickwork mask and texture paste (from Papermaze) AC Thickers.

Step-by-Step
1. In the centre of your black sheet of Prima paper, Marcella, apply texture paste with a brickwork mask and put aside to dry.
2. Meanwhile, cut the frame design out from the Charmuse paper with a craft Knife. Keep the centre piece to use another time.
3. Cut a journaling notecard in half longways, and punch two holes in each for eyelets. Tie a piece of twine through each.
4. Place your photo in the centre of your base sheet, over the texture paste design, then stick the two notecard pieces either end of your photo.
5. Use a decorative edger punch to make two strips from the Websters pages sheet and tuck under the top and bottom of your photo.
6. With foam pads, stick the cut out frame over your base sheet.
7. Add your title over your photo with the letter stickers and Thickers.
8. Arrange a cluster of three flowers under your photo to the right. Using a craft knife, carefully cut the wooden clock in half and tuck under the flowers.

September kit layout

Hi everyone, Amanda here to share with you a layout I made with the September kit. This kit has such a wonderful mix of pretty items, with a vintagey feel. I knew it would be a great match for this old photo I have of my Mum as a toddler.

I added a thick, swirly layer of gesso onto my background cardstock as a base, and then layered up some papers and embellishments.

The kit coordinates so well that there was really no thinking involved in terms of what goes with what - it just works :)

I added a few darker paint splatters to finish off and to add some interest to the chipboard butterfly. Love the butterflies!

Thanks for stopping by today - see you soon with more from this amazing kit!

September Kit Layout...

This months kit is one I put together myself with loads of prima goodies! It is just my style so this week I have two layouts to share with you, with instructions on how I made them.

This is the first:

Materials: Sept kit, Garden Twine, American Crafts Thickers

Step-by-step:
1. Cut three of your journaling cards in half, and arrange on your white cardstock, four halves plus one whole one in the top right corner under the Kraft tag. Have one half in each corner, then use the whole notecard vertically in the centre of them. This and the tag will cover any gaps or blunt edges. (I also turned the bottom right of the four on its side to look better)
2. Staple one half in the opposite corner and add some journaling notes with the white letter stickers. I inked the edges of each of these in brown first.
3. Tie a small piece of twine through the hole in your Kraft tag and add your photos on top with foam tape.
4. Layer up a smaller chipboard butterfly on top of a large one, bending the small wings up slightly. I used glossy accents to stick them and held together for a few minutes. Stick two pink dewdrops in the centre and position in the top left of your journaling notecard cluster.
5. Stick down your pearl swirl coming out from your photo(s).
6. Punch around ten leaf clusters from the oliver cardstock and arrange randomly around your page.
7. Use large letter stickers and a wooden bingo number if possible as your title under your photos to finish.

I hope this inspires you to have a go with this kit. Keep an eye out for another page later in the week!
