a little dream

This month i got my hands on some stunning papers from the prima collection moon child.
So for my first project i altered a mini cheeseboard that i acquired from a pound shop,
I primed the board using some white gesso and left to dry. Then using Tim Holtz distress paints in antique linen, weathered wood and chipped sapphire i created a painted background mainly using my fingers.
I could have used an acrylic paint but i know once these paints are dry they don't budge if you add more water or more mixed media, the outside of the frame had the same treatment where as the inside had a piece of the patterned paper adhered to it. The frame is from some old Wendy Vecchi art parts pack i had in my own stash

Close up of the frame. Added stamped hessian background using grey archival ink and paint splatted using a brush and flicking watered down paint. Added some sliver gilding wax to the edges of the frame

I distressed the edge of my photo and  stamped images on to the patterned paper. Stars adhered to bottom corner with the moon placed slightly over the photo

At the bottom of the frame circles cut from the paper along with a moon image and a clear dome placed on the top. Flower cut using a Tim Holtz  rolled flower die and the an old Jennie Bowlin feather embellishment adhered. Last my title is stamped and small sequin stars adhered to the board.

Photoplay ~ A Day at the Park #1

Hi all and welcome back to the Papermaze blog. It's Anna back with you today and I have been busy working with a Disney themed collection from Photoplay 'A Day in the Park'. I love Disney and love scrapping my Disney photos, so a new Disney themed line is the perfect opportunity to do so.
This collection has some really great Disney touches, my favourite pieces being 'oh boy', the 'element stickers' and the '3x4 cards'
Take a look at the whole collection in the shop here.
So here is my first project using this collection a scrapbook layout...

I gutted a black piece of cardstock and used this to boarder white cardstock. I then cut out a strip of 'magic memories' pattered paper.
I cut out a Mickey shaped head using the remaining black cardstock, this can be done by hand using different things to draw around or using circle cutting tools.

I double mounted my photo onto some kraft cardstock and the 'oh boy' pattered paper.

I used several stickers from the 'element stickers' and cut out some speech bubbles from the 'oh boy' patterned paper. I used some Thickers for my title and some chipboard stars too, which I sprayed first with ink spray.

To finish I added a few drops of ink spray and some nuvo drops.

Thanks for looking!
See you real soon with another Disney project!

La La Lovely Scrapbooking - with video

Helloooooo!! Lisa here. Today I have a few things for you all inspired by a set of watercolours that I treated myself to.

I've ended up creating in my Traveler's Notebook and I also made a 12x12 page.
You can watch both being created on my YouTube channel here.

I'm creating with some pieces from the Crate Paper La La Love collection which you can see here. The colours and cute designs really pulled me in and although they aren't Disney themed that's what they inspired me to scrapbook.

I used 2 pieces of paper from the paper pad in my notebook here. I cut a heart out of a scrap piece of card, lay open on my page and used this as a stencil and painted within the cut out heart. I love how this worked out.

I doodled around the edge of the heart. I added some of this washi here around the outside of the page.

And I added some of these cute stickers too. I'm really happy with this page.

Next I created this 12x12 LO.

I cut some of the same papers into strips and stuck them on to a 12x12 piece of white card.

I took a really old piece of chipboard over the page and using my paints I painted over each heart space.

I love these Thickers here that I used for my title and I doodled over the top of them.

The colours in my Disney photo just go so perfectly.

I did feel the page was missing something. The teal alphas just didn't sit quite right me with afterall. So I painted a teal frame around the outside and then doodled and this this to journal around.

I was so much happier with this layout now.

I really hope that you've enjoyed my projects today.
Don't forget the video here.

Thanks. Have a lovely day.

Me and My Girl ....... Prima Georgia Blues.

Hello Again.

It's Anita here with my 3rd and last layout created using the beautiful Georgia Blues Collection from Prima. These papers are an absolute pleasure to create with and I am rather sad that I am at the end of my stash of them ( I think I shall have to be putting in a order for some just to squirrel away and keep just to stroke and admire!!) I had one whole sheet left in my DT kit and some scraps from other sheets left over and I knew they were just right for this photo of my youngest daughter and I on her prom night.

I based the layout on a sheet of The Watermark and used the reverse side, that has gentle filing around the edges. Using one of the stitches stamps from the 49 and Market Gabi's Line Stitch set I dabbed it with a Distress Stain in Blueprint Sketch and stamped around the edges of the page from each corner. I also used some bubble wrap that I removed from the centre of a jiffy bag ( it was tiny bubbles and just perfect!) and chose 3 colours of acrylic paint, Cobalt Blue, Platinum and Silver. These were gently sponged onto the bubbles and then laid onto the page, pressing gently so as not to pop the bubbles.

I took some Dusty Chipboard from my own stash ( there is a great selection of various chipboard embellishents in the shop) and gave it a watercolour brushover with some blue paint and then added Silver Beadazzles, Blue Glitter and Silvery Liquid Pearls onto the berries.

I used up left over strips and panels from the sheets of Memory Lane and Written Chapters which were gently inked around the edges using an old brown inkpad. These strips were then layered up across the page before adding the photo which was printed in a 5 x 5 format.

I used Pink Fresh Studio Puffy alphabet stickers for my Title in black. These are available in a variety of colours in the shop.

I added a piece of cotton lace below the photograph.

And then added the chipboard spray when the glue and Liquid Pearls had dried.

I also printed out some butterflies, which I fussy cut and added in various paces on the layout to finish it off.

So that's it....I am all out of delicious Georgia Blues papers now....gutted! At least its a good excuse to pop over to the SHOP and do a little retail therapy isn't it???

See you next month, I hope you liked my layout xx

Warmest wishes
Anita xx

Bazzill cardstock: Peacock & Natural

Reverse side of patterned papers
Extra Bazzill Pack
Extra Bazzill cardstock Pack: African Daisy, Moody Blue, Aqua & Walnut

Accessories: 3 paper flowers, 18" Prima lace, 12" net, 1 strip gems, 6 buttons, 1 Scrapiniec chipboard piece, 12" Little B washi tape, 1 stamp.

Twinkle and Oliver is the title of my first layout, with two photos from the day we took Oliver and his sisters to see the Owls at Jambs Owls, Hall Place.

I used a sketch map for inspiration for this layout and chose this one from Sketch Savvy.

The first job here was to take the Walnut Bazzill and gut it so I had a frame of about 1" all the way round. Then I cut another piece 9" x 7". keeping the rest to die cut stars, a tag and letters later.

Next I took the Aqua Bazzill and trimmed this to measure 11.5" x 11.5",
I then gutted a 6" x6" piece from the centre of this. Set aside the 12" x 1" piece to lay across the page later. The rest will be used for die cutting as with the Walnut.

The 11.5 x 11.5" piece of Aqua Bazzill was decorated with feathers. I used a set of 49 and Market Feather Stamps and some Potting Soil Archival Ink for this and stamped randomly over the card. I lightly coloured these using Distress Inks as watercolour paints - Wilted Violet, Mermaid Lagoon and Vintage Photo. This was mounted centrally over the Walnut Bazzill.

The 9" x 7" piece of Walnut Bazzill was mounted to the top and a piece of Sea Maiden 7 paper cut to 10" x 3" was used at the bottom. I used the wood grain side of this paper with the stripes running vertically.

I whipped some brown twine around the 12" x 1" piece of Aqua Bazzill and mounted this across the join between paper and card, using 3D foam pads.

I used some Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits - Tag Collection to cut three tags, one each from Walnut, Aqua and a scrap of White Bazzill. I have a set of nesting star dies and I cut some stars in Walnut and Aqua too. Then with the left over Bazzill I cut the letters for my title with an old QuicKutz die set.

I tied twine through the holes in the tags and tied them to the layout, I also raised them up on 3D foam pads. I wrote my journalling on the white tag. My photos were arranged on the Walnut Bazzill and the title was added above one photo and onto one tag. I found an owl charm, I had been saving for this layout, and added gems to his eyes.

The buttons from the kit were added with a little twine threaded through the holes and tied in knots and bows. Finally a little stickles was added to each feather.

Caligular is my second layout using a photo of me with our family cat in the 1960's.

With the Moody Blue Bazzill, I made a frame of 1" by gutting the centre from the sheet of cardstock.  Then I cut the paper Ritzy to 11" x 11" and mounted this over the Bazzill. The Dashi paper was cut to 9.5" x 9.5" and mounted in the centre of the Ritzy paper. Then I cut a band of 5 rows of butterflies from the bottom of the take flight paper. this was stuck across the middle of the page and trimmed with strips of Moody Blue Bazzill, which had been edged with a Martha Stewart border punch.

I mounted my photo onto a piece of Moody Blue Bazzill and this in turn was mounted onto a piece of Sea Maiden paper 8" x 2.75". When all this was lightly glued in place with the top and bottom not stuck down, I tucked in two pieces of Swell paper 2" x 2". I placed these pieces above and below the photo, one to the left and the other to the right. Then I added a little of the washi tape.

Next came some fussy cutting - 11 butterflies from the Take Flight paper, 10 of these were arranged in an arc over the top right of the page. I cut a 3.5" piece from the manufacturer's strip of the Take Flight paper and added this to the bottom right of the layout. Then I added the 11th butterfly to the end of this strip.

I wrote my journalling onto scraps of Swell paper and cut this into thin strips, sticking these to the right of my photo. My title was cut from more of the Moody Blue cardstock, using an old Sizzlet alphavet die set from my collection. Finally I added antennae to the butterflies with a market pen and tiny dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Thanks for looking, I will be back in early March with more from this kit.

Simple Stories - Freezin' Season - All Bundled Up

Hello, Karen here again with another layout using  Freezin' Season from Simple Stories.

For my layout I choose three 3x4 photos of my daughter and matted them with Bazzill Flamingo Cardstock. I then trimmed a sheet of Bazzill Avalanche cardstock to approx 11"x11" and matted this onto a piece of the Shiverin' paper giving it a narrow border before sticking it to the middle of a 12x12 sheet of the Sweater Weather paper. Horizontal strips of the Shiverin' paper and Snuggle Up paper were glued to the lower half of the page.

My three photos were added to the centre of the layout on 3D foam, to add some dimension, and punched strips of white glitter cardstock were used to add a border to the central photo.

I machine stitched around the edge of the papers and also stitched vertical lines from the top of the layout onto the white cardstock. Snowflakes punched from glitter cardstock, sequins, pink Dew Drops and enamel stars from Shimelle's Glitter Girl collection were added.

At the bottom of the layout I added my title using black puffy alphabet stickers.

I picked out one of penguins in the paper at the bottom of the layout and coloured his hat and scarf in the same colours as those worn by my daughter. A star puffy sticker was added to the top of his hat.

In my stash I found a penguin stamp which was remarkably similar to the penguins on the paper so I stamped him onto some white cardstock, fussy cut and coloured him and added him beside the title.  I could have instead fussy cut a penguin from one of the cut-apart sheets if I hadn't already used the paper for another layout!

The layout was finished with the addition of the date in the bottom corner using little letter stickers.

I'm really enjoying using this paper collection and you can find it and lots more in the Papermaze shop

Take Care,
Karen x x

Feeling blessed

Hi Lisa here.
I have a colourful one for you today.

I'm using the Kaisercraft - Blessed papers again today. Incase you missed it, I created some art using these papers recently. You can see the blog post here.
And you can watch me making this new page on my YouTube channel here.

I absolutely love these papers. So today I'm creating a 12x12 scrapbook page using the leftovers.

I thought it would be fun to use some paints. I smeared some pretty pink paint at the bottom, added a strip of white patterned paper with black doodled flowers which I then very roughly coloured in with watercolours.

It was this paper here with all the frames that inspired this page.
I cut out 3 to start with. 2 for my photos. I printed them off to fit inside the frames and the other I left the quote to use as a title.
I then stitched around the outside creating a sewn inner frame.

And then I cut out a fourth. Printed off my journaling making sure that it fit inside. I stuck it in and sewed around the outside of this one too.
I felt like something was missing. I walked away and came back and decided to cut out a few of the doodled flowers and leaves, slotted them around the frames and painted these too.

I'm really happy with this page.
I hope you've enjoyed this. You can watch this page being created here.
Thank you.

My Heart Belongs to You......... Pebbles Loves Me

Hello!

Anita here with you today and I have a new layout to share, this time using the Loves Me range from Pebbles.  Double sided papers filled with striking patterns, hearts, cute animals, flowers and tags all in a range of eye catching pinks and reds. It will melt your heart!

I backed the layout on a sheet of Marischino cardstock and matted the photo with the same colour.
I used a sheet of  Huggably Yours and also Bouquet of Love, torn at angles and over lapped to make back up to an 11.5" x 11.5" square.

On the upper half of the page I splattered some drops of pink and black Distress Stain and cut a thin strip of the striped paper that I then added a pearly buckle to and stuck across the top of the page.
From the left over pieces of the 2 sheets I cut various flowers and sloths on hearts which were placed along the torn edges to create a border.

From the sheet of Tag You're It  I chose 5 tags that I liked with various sayings on and threaded them through with some 3mm Satin Ribbon, then arranged them across the page.

I cut the Fox, Typewriter, Cookie Heart and banner shape from left over tags and added them to the page and then just finished it off with a few sprinklings of sequins ( who doesn't love sequins!!)

This is the perfect paper collection for up and coming Valentines Day, whether it be for a love filled layout or making that special someone an extra special card....but also for lots of other themes too, why restrict yourself!
You can see all the Pebbles Collections in the SHOP along with lots of other needful things.

Warmest Wishes
Anita xx
