Art Journalling page

Hi, Carol with you today to share with you an art journal page.

Vanessa has some of the latest Paperartsy products in store, not on the net yet, but, soon to be… so armed with the Eclectica3 plate EDY18 (designed by Darcy) I and some dylusions paints I created this:-

The base is one of my larger art journals measuring 9" by just under 12".  I decided to use dylusions paints for this project - dylusions are one of the thicker acrylic paints and so very vibrant, I used vibrant turquoise, fresh lime and crushed grape on the base blending as I went… once dry I then stamped and stencilled over the top, using the same paints and adding in some white linen dylusions paint then some painted circles (using an old polish canister) and painted lines (from an old store card) were added….

These are the pages prior to the doodling and black edging.

I wanted my flowers to stand out against my page, so I created a master board using the same colours but added in some bubble gum pink

this masterboard was stamped on with the three flower heads from the set… I stamped three of each… be careful when you stamp onto painted backgrounds you need to use a dye based ink like ranger dye ink pad…I forgot! and when you cut out your images the ink won't dry and it rubs off, even worse rubs into your paint! be warned…. so, once I had cut out my flowers I added a glaze to the top and some dots of brass liquid pearls and a piece of bling for the centre.

The page was then stamped with the leaf images (also on the EDY18 plate) and where it didn't meet the black along bottom of the page it was given a base using washi tape.  The leaves were then painted on the page and a black outline added… the saying from the pack "paint with love and colour my world" was stamped in black ink and the flowers adhered to the page.
