Home Comforts - Pebbles - The Avenue

Hello and Happy September!

Wow - how did we get to September already?!

It's Claire here and today I'm sharing a layout made with The Avenue.  You can view the full collection here.  It is a truly stunning collection - the photos really don't do it justice.  The collection includes quite a lot of autumnal colours combined with natural wood and bronze tones and my favourites - some classic black and white patterns.

I decided to take my layout down the autumnal feel and scrapped a picture from a few years ago.  It seemed fitting for the current situation as I'm curled up at home on the sofa enjoying a cup of tea.

I used the B side of the Fifth Avenue paper as my base. It has a soft creamy coloured woodgrain pattern which complements the other colours in the collection beautifully.

Next, the Welcome Home paper caught my eye - It's made up of rows of rectangualr phrases so I decided to cut a few rows and arrange them on my page in a brick design.

To anchor the page I used a heart shaped doillie and made some mini envelopes from a template I have in my stash. I cut the envelopes from the Lovers Lane paper - using the A side for one and the B side for the other. I must admit I absolutely love the floral A side - It's gorgeous! To the centre, I added some wooden buttons and tied some gold thread in a bow.

I backed my photo in black and white spotted tissue to echo some of the black and white tones and added some of the floral ephemera. There are some real statement pieces in this pack so you really don't need very many to make an impact - a little will go a long way, which is great.

I cut a small square of white card and punched the top to look like a notebook. I stamped 'remember this' at the top and put it inside the envelope. It will hold my journaling. For a bit of extra texture, I added some white die cut leaves using the Sue Wilson Olive Branch die which is available in the shop.

For the title, I used two types of thickers from my stash, keeping the colour tones as close as possible to the paper. To finish it off, I added some Caramel Cream Nuvo Drops and that was it - page done!

I really enjoyed making this one. It came together quite quickly and I'm already looking forward to making the next page which I'll be sharing later this month.

Until then, stay safe and take care.

Claire

lovely layout Claire. Those envelopes are great and I particularly like the addition of the wooden buttons with the gold thread. x x
