Hello. Karen here with another layout to share using the beautiful Lavender Farm collection from Mintay Papers. If you've not seen these papers before, hop on over to the Papermaze shop where you can view the collection.
This layout started with a sheet of white cardstock which was trimmed to 11.5" x 11.5" and was then machine stitched onto a sheet of paper #2.
Before stitching the cardstock to the patterned paper base I stuck some torn pieces of washi tape (from my stash) to the edges of the cardstock. The cardstock was placed in the top left corner of the paper so that a border shows on just two sides. I gutted the patterned paper before attaching the cardstock so that I could use the otherwise hidden piece on another layout
Using a hexagon die, I cut out 7 hexagons - 2 from lilac coloured cardstock, 4 from paper #6 and 1 from my photo, and machine stitched inside all the edges of the hexagons. The lilac hexagons were also run through a hexagon embossing folder. The embossing is very subtle but adds a little bit of extra interest.
The hexagons were arranged on the cardstock background in a diagonal design with some 3D foam underneath to raise them up slightly. I then painted some pale blue watercolour paint around the hexagons. With the hexagons sitting slightly higher than the background it was easy to slide a paintbrush underneath and between the hexagons to apply the paint. Paint splatters were also added to the white cardstock.
Using my silhouette cameo machine I cut a title from some navy blue cardstock and stuck this beneath the hexagons.
Finally a few purple enamel dots were dotted about the layout and journalling, printed on the computer, was placed at the bottom left corner of the layout.
Please do take a look at this collection. It's perfect for so many scrapbooking themes and would also make wonderful cards.
Take Care, Karen x x
