Dylusions ink sprays

Hi its Carol here....have you seen the new fab products that have recently arrived in the shop? Amongst them is a product that I absolutely adore.  I'm all for getting messy and these dylusions ink sprays are all about creating fabulous pieces and getting slightly messy!! (ok, if you're like me very messy)

The inks come in a wide range of colours with totally gorgeous names! like crushed grape and london blue to name a couple.  These inks were previously marketed under a different name hence I have quite a few but these won't tie into the newly named sprays!  These sprays are non toxic and acid free and will give you loads of possiblilies and hours of fun...

One word of warning!!!!!!!!!!! these inks stain! they will stain your worksurface, your clothes your fingers...now if you're like me my attitudie is it eventually washes off my hands, but, wear gloves if you like to protect your digits! also protect your work area - and move anything you don't want splattered...

With that out of the way lets play..............

 Here I have my craft mat covered with a sheet of copier paper, a tag and dylusions sprays in London Blue and crushed grape also a ranger mister...

 Here you can see I've sprayed the tag with the colours keeping them seperate whilst spritzing and then lifting to let them run together (I've also added a yellow/orange toned spray)

 see how the colours are all running together - dry with a heat gun, keeping the gun moving all the time to spread the heat....spray and then dry again.....you can vary the concentrated colour by how many spritizes and drys you do...

 These inks react with water, so spritz the tag with the water mister - here I've also sprayed the ink in concentrated areas to give a "splodge" effect

As I mentioned these inks react with water, so spritz thro' a stencil, there are loads of stencils in the dylsuions range and are here....remember what I said in a previous post about distress inks?....use your distress ink to finish off the edges of the tag...also, add further colourby  using contrasting distress inks if there are any areas that have been missed...

These tags were all made really quickly, by spritzing the inks and adding stencils with paint or distress inks sponged thro', doodling, splats.....the main thing is to play - mix colours and add different elements....

More with the June Kit...

Here is yet another page I have made using this months kit...that's 3 layouts so far for £10 and I still have plenty left for more!

This is another girly layout, using one of the large chipboard butterflies...

I covered the butterfly in the embossing powder and heated it up. On my previous 'boy' layout I used black ink and a thinner dusting of embossing powder so that some of the black showed through, looking more distressed, where as here I used a clear inkpad and covered and heated the powder twice to get a good thick covering, showing off all that beautiful glimmer within the melted powder.

Working with the June Kit...

Today I am here to show you another page I created with the June kit which is on sale on the website now.
Although the kit is full of pastels, butterflies and 'pretty' things, I wanted to show how you can still use these pieces to make a page perfect for a boy...

 I used the Copplestone Bazzil as my base, and cut and punched scraps from the yellow and green papers in the kit.

 The Doilies i covered in ink and embossed them with the powder supplied to give them a metallic/blue look.

The acetate postmarks were perfect for the theme, and even the wooden flowers cut in half  were not too feminine to put on the page.

With whatever papers you are using, you can keep the style of your page quite masculine by keeping it bold and sticking to simple shapes like squares and circles.

Hi, It's Lisa here.
I've had an absolute nightmare of a time with pc problems lately.
But thankfully everything is now sorted and I can finally share again.

I've been playing with lots of MME goodies recently.
Always top of my faves list this company.

I love the girliness that the Miss Caroline Collections have.
I made this LO here using one of the 6x6 pads. Howdy Doody

The Dolled up Butterflies 12x12 paper make really pretty embellishments when cut out.
I just inked the edges and added a diamante in the centre of each one.

I love the label stickers. There are a few to choose from.
To really make the most of them you can stick them onto paper or cardstock and cut out and then use 3d foam tape to stick on to the LO. It really helps make them pop.

I also used some of the Maya Road Organza Rose Ribbon on this page.
It comes on a roll sold by the yard in various colours.
I cut my roses out to add to the LO and added some Maya Road pins to my hand cut leaves.

I just love this pretty collection and there's so much to match and choose from.

Using the June Kit...

Hi, its lou here today to show you just one of the layouts I did using this months Kit.

I used the ScrapCake 'Happiness Is In The Air' paper as my background, with a section of the Avalon DieCut sheet.

Before sticking the sheets together, I cut out the two butterflies which would have been covered up underneath the die cut.

I made my die cut sheet look lik a clock by printing off Roman Numberals found through Google, onto clear printing paper. They go perfectly with the gorgeous clock hands which are in the kit. 

These hands were embossed with the distress embossing powder, and finished off with one of the large pearls. 

I then took the butterflies I cut out earlier and glued the centres down onto the clock face, leaving the wings free to be bent upwards for depth.  With just a photo, journaling and title, my page was complete. It was really simple but looks detailed.

It's crop day tomorrow here in Otley and this month's kit uses October Afternoon Sasparilla papers.  There's a bit of red, white and blue going on, unintentionally, but it did fit the photos my son took of himself in an effort to get a patriotic profile picture for facebook! 

Also tomorrow, Lou is going to be giving some quick mini tutorials during the day with some great ideas for making your own embellishments. 

Unfortunately the heating oil has been stolen from the village hall, so this means there will be no heating on at any time tomorrow.  Fortunately it is June, so hopefully we'll all be warm enough anyway.  But you might want to bring an extra layer or two!  See you all tomorrow :)

June Kit...

Its time again already for another new kit, and this month we have gone all girly with lace, flowers, butterflies and pearls.

 This kit seems very feminine at first glance but throughout this month I will be showing you examples of what you can create using the kit, along both a girly and masculine theme.

The white birdcage and small birds included are actually cut from acetate, but shown white here so you can see them!
