Hi everyone,
Claire here with you today! This month, I am playing with the absolutely beautiful Wonders collection from Paige Evans. It's a very colourful, bright and happy collection, perfect for those warmer days.
The first paper that caught my eye was Paper #22. The 'b' side contains the most adorable little floral envelops and I immediately knew I wanted to create a layout where these were the focal point - so here it is!
The paper contains 16 envelope images, each in a different coloured square. For this page, I didn't want the coloured square so cut each envelope just leaving a very thin border around the outside. I considered doing a traditional grid layout, but in the end, settled on a vertical design with the envelopes offset as they cascade down the page.
I raised each of them on foam pads for a bit of extra dimension.
To add a bit of interest, I added a few extra leaves, a butterfly and flowers from the Icon Ephemera Pack, some tiny gold hearts from the sticker book and also added some of those gorgeous mini banners from the Dimensional Banner Stickers.
Next, I set about adding my photograph and decided I'd use this pretty frame from the Icon Ephemera Pack for my photo to sit in. Again, raised on foam pads alongside the envelopes, and with a small chipboard flower for a bit of something extra.
I decided the photo looked as it it was 'floating' and I felt as if I needed to ground the page. I used those beautiful coloured semi-circle pieces from the Chipboard Sticker sheet to create a shelf for the photo to sit on.....and they are unbelievably pretty, with a foiled gold design on each piece.
I added my title 'Happy Vibes' along the chipboard 'shelf' using a combination of the alpha stickers from the Sticker Book and the Wonderful Alphabet Foam Thickers.
At this point, I got a little stuck. The colours are very bright and beautiful, but I didn't want to overpower the page. To me it felt a bit bare.
Bring on Paper #13 - Wow! It's gorgeous! With its multicoloured brush stroke swatch design, it makes a perfect border. It contains all the colours so ties all the elements together really well.
To finish the page off and to balance the design, I added a small cluster in the top right corner. I used stickers from the Cardstock Stickers Pack and a floral sticker from the Sticker Book.
And that was the page complete!
I really am thoroughly enjoying playing with this collection - I was a little nervous it may be too bright and bold for me - but I couldn't have been more wrong! It's really quite versatile and would lend itself to many scrapbooking styles.
I'd happily recommend this collection to anyone and I can't wait to create some more pages to share later this month.
See you soon.
Claire xxx
