The Little Details - Uniquely Creative - Sweet as Honey Collection

Hi everyone,

It's Rebecca here on the blog today, and I'm excited to share a layout I've created using one of the newer Uniquely Creative collections – Sweet as Honey. I have such a soft spot for yellow on a scrapbook layout! It's not a colour you see used all that often, but I absolutely love working with it. You can check out the full collection in the shop here.

With the collection featuring honey, bees and beautiful florals, it felt only right to create a layout using hexagons! I selected four different patterned papers and cut a variety of hexagons using my Sizzix Big Shot. I then layered the hexagons in groups of three, offsetting them slightly to add interest and dimension, before arranging them in a circular design in the centre of a sheet of Premium White Cardstock.

To continue the theme, I also cut my photo into a hexagon, making it slightly larger so it would become the focal point in the centre of the design. I wanted the photo to really stand out, so I backed it with brown Bazzill Cardstock to create a bold contrast against the softer colours in the collection.

Using the Creative Cuts Ephemera and Creative Cuts Vellum, I created two embellishment clusters that run diagonally across the photo. I love how easy the vellum pieces are to work with—the backing peels away effortlessly. I like to adhere them to white cardstock before fussy cutting them out, which gives them a little more stability and makes them easier to layer.

For my title, I chose one of the die-cut pieces from the Creative Cuts Ephemera, popping it up on foam adhesive to add extra dimension and help it stand out from the background.

To finish the layout, I added a couple of die-cut butterflies, gently bending up their wings to give them a more realistic look and a lovely sense of movement.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope you've enjoyed taking a closer look at my layout and that it's inspired you to get creative with the gorgeous Sweet as Honey collection.

Take care,

Rebecca xx

Hello Today from Simple Stories by Adam

Hello! ScrappyAdam here again! I'm sharing another layout with Hello Today from Simple Stories which I am loving!

This is a layout that has less than usual for me - but I love it all the same!

For this layout, I started with a sheet of red Bazzill cardstock from the Hello Today Matchmaker pack, I don't use coloured cardstock as a background enough!

I added a strip of the July paper and then a strip of the September paper to the right of the page and punched small notches at the top and bottom and added a piece of twine for some interest.

I tried something different for me and to add some extra texture and interest, I added four strips of varying lengths of patterned paper to the lower part of the red area and then used my scissors to 'fringe' these strips - I love the way it looks and will definitely do this again!

Next I turned my attention to the photos for the page and used one of the fab chipboard frames to use two 3x4" photos. I popped this on top of the "shelf of fringed paper" ever so slightly over lapping the amazing rainbow paper. I layered some of the cut outs behind and to the left of the frame including one of the cards showing the month and a spot for journaling to the left. I tucked another card behind the 'documented' card and partially cut out the heart to make a tab, popped a paperclip from my stash and had some hidden journaling too! I added some word stickers and a butterfly sticker from the sticker book.

I used a word from the chipboard stickers and 'Happy' from the foam stickers to create my title to the top right of my photos. I added a couple of label stickers and another word from the sticker book. In the top right corner of the page I added a chipboard banner sticker, brad from the adhesive brads and some washi style sticker from the book

Finally, I took out the trusty enamel dots! I placed three dots, in different colours in three places - the top right of the page, right of the photo and bottom left of the photo - creating a kind of triangle around the page. I also added a couple of hearts from the foam stickers and another adhesive brad

That's the page done - minimal for me but love the result nonetheless and you'll definitely see fringed paper from me again!

I'll be back soon with another Hello Today layout. Until then, stay safe, take care and happy scrapping!
