Carta Bella ~ Sunflower Summer 🌻

Hi everyone it’s Anna back with you today.
I’m soaking up the last of the summer and sharing one last layout using Sunflower Summer by Carta Bella and I’m documenting another sunflower field visit.
You can find this collection in the shop here

I started my layout with a white bazzill base. I then adhered the remaining half of ‘busy bees’ horizontally across the centre of my page.

I wanted to include multiple photos, so I printed eight square pictures and mounted them all together on the b side of  ‘sunflower patch’.

I then fussy cut sunflowers from the b side of Sunflower Seed Packs and tucked them in a row along the top of my photos.

I used my silhouette cameo to cut a title using coordinating bazzill cardstock from the matchmaker pack.

To add a space for my journalling I used one of the 6x4 journalling cards

I added a boarder strip as well as some of the element stickers around my journaling card. I also added some bunting to the top of my layout using the bunting stickers and some twine

Thanks so much for looking!
See you next month with another brand new collection - I’ll be working with Say Cheese Classic Mouse

Thankful - 49 and Market - Vintage Orchard Collection

Hi everyone, it's Rebecca with you today sharing my second layout of the month. I'm still loving working with the Vintage Orchard collection from 49 and Market - more so now the weather has turned that little bit more autumnal! Anybody else scrap with the seasons? It may be a bit weird but I'm not one for scrapping summer in autumn, and spring in winter etc... I find my inspiration and creativity flow better working with the current season. You can find the full collection in the shop here.

For today's layout I really wanted to use the black woodgrain patterned paper from the collection, but felt like it was a bit too much as a background and felt like I needed some empty space on the page to balance it out. To achieve a more balanced feel, I cut the woodgrain paper into smaller strips, distressed the edges and arranged them in the centre of a sheet of Premium White Cardstock. To add a bit more detail to these strips, I applied torn sections from the Washi Tape Sheets and I love the look that this has achieved.

Not wanting to cover up all the washi, I decided to just scrap with one photo today. I've used one of the Stacked Frames to house my photo, with a journalling card from the Ephemera Bits to bring in more of the copper shade that features in my photo. I positioned my photo over on the right hand side of the page, and using some of the die-cuts from the Laser Cut Elements and Laser Cut Wildflowers, I built up a small cluster in the corner.

For the title, I've used a die-cut from the Ephemera Bits. I've gone for a bright green title to bring a pop of colour to the page.

To help balance the layout, I've created a smaller cluster using die cuts to the top left corner of the layout. On top of both clusters, I've added a chipboard phrase from the Chipboard Set.

To add some details to my background, I've applied some Rub-On transfers from both the Botanicals Rub-Ons and the Essentials Rub Ons. I absolutely adore 49 and Market rub ons - the packs are so generous and they are so easy to apply. I love how they give my background a mixed-media effect with very little effort from me!

To finish the layout, I slotted in a couple of notebook edge die cuts from the Laser Cut Elements and some of the Wishing Bubbles and Baubles stickers.

Thanks so much for reading. I hope you like the layout and it offers you some inspiration. This stunning collection is available in the shop now so grab it before it sells out!

Take care

Vicki Boutin's Bold & Bright for American Crafts - Magic Moments

Hello, Karen here sharing another layout using Vicki Boutin's Bold & Bright collection

My layout today uses the Picnic Blanket paper and lots of fussy cut elements, phrase Thickers and puffy stickers. The layout is a very clean, graphic, grid design that uses all the colours in the collection.

I started by printing my journalling onto a sheet of 12x12 smooth white cardstock. I wanted the journalling to run round the outside edge of a grid, so I created my journalling on an MSWord document. I drew a 10" square in the centre of the document and then, using WordArt, I added my journalling to the outside edges of the square. Finally I deleted the square, leaving just the words, and printed the journalling on my computer.

Using a 2" square punch I punched 16 squares from the Picnic Blanket paper. The squares were arranged in a 4 x 4 grid and using a black gel pen I drew grid lines between the squares. The paper squares were already printed with faux stitching lines so there was no need for real stitching on this layout.

I double matted my 3x4 photo with green paper and white cardstock and placed this at an angle in the bottom right corner of the layout.

I took the word 'Moments' from the sheet of Puffy Title Thickers  and the word 'Magic' from a sheet of  Paige Evans Adventurous collection Phrase Thickers and added them to the bottom of the layout.

Then came the fun part of embellishing the layout and I choose to embellish tone-on-tone. I added fussy cut butterflies from the Smile Bright Paper to some of the squares. I glued the body of the butterfly to the layout and put 3d foam pads underneath the wings to add some dimension.

The sheet of mini puffy stickers has 101 tiny stickers (butterflies, hearts, stars, dots and words) so some of those were added too.

In my stash I found enamel dots in all the colours and dotted a few of these on each square.

Words were cut from the 3x4 tags sheet of paper and used on some squares.

I trimmed the white card down slightly and matted this onto a sheet of black cardstock leaving a narrow border.

Tiny heart stickers were placed in the corners and then with a black gel pen I drew lines round the outside of the layout.

Thank you for dropping in today. I hope I have given you some inspiration for using the Bold & Bright collection and I will be back again soon with another layout.

Take Care, Karen x x

September Papermaze Kit - Part 1

Lynn here today, with the lovely new kit from Papermaze for September.  A combination of geometric patterns and floral papers. For my first two layouts I have used some subtle stencilling on the background Bazzill, linking it to the colours in the papers.

Here is what you will find in the kit:

Patterned Papers:
Paige Evans - Adventurous collection - #10 & #24
Vicki Boutin - Bold + Bright collection - Great Day
Echo Park - Happy as Can Bee collection - Busy Busy Bees
Echo Park - Sunny Days Ahead collection - 3x4 Journalling Cards
P13 - Travel Journal collection - #03

The photo below shows both sides of all six papers in the kit:

Embellishments - Prima In Full Bloom Flower, Pinkfresh Making the Best of it alpha sheet, 3 frames 49 and Market Colour Swatch Ochre, 2 Rosie's Studio Born to Bloom acetate words,
2 P13 Travel Journal Tags, 12" Lace, A pinch of Pinkfresh Matte Gold Pearls.

Bazzill Basics Cardstock - Beeswax and Whirlpool (in main kit).
Smoky, Apricot, Fig Swirl and Twig (in extra pack).

Precious Memories - My son on his tricycle, showing off the quilt made by the stitching club I belonged to. We made this quilt to raffle for the Stuart Martin Memorial Fund. There were links between our twins' club, and the children's hospice.

I chose the White Bazzill as the backdrop for this layout. Then with a Vicki Boutin Stencil (Art for Everyone Set) and Distress inks (Wild Honey and Broken China), I stencilled hexagons randomly over the cardstock. I also diluted some of each ink and splattered it over the page.

I used two patterned papers for this layout, Adventurous #24 and Busy Busy Bees. I Cut the Bees paper diagonally, so it would fit at the top and bottom of the page. I distressed the cut edge of this paper. I cut a thin strip of the #24 paper to trim the edge of the previous papers. The edge of this was also distressed.

I cut the rainbow sun image from the 3x4 Journalling Cards paper and made this into a tag. I punched a hole in the top and added an eyelet from my stash. I tucked the tag into the patterned paper at the base of the layout. The date and journalling were printed onto white card and added to both sides of the finished tag. I threaded some twine through the eyelet.

The photos were mounted onto more of the Bee paper, then again onto Beeswax Bazzill. I also cut a piece of the 3x4 Journalling Cards and made a mount to offset to one side, under the photos, I used the B side of this paper, to pick out the aqua colours in the photo.

Finally, I used the alphabet stickers from the kit to spell out all the main details of the clubs and charities involved in the project.

Smile - Me with my Mum in the local park, back in the early 1960's.

This time I chose the Fig Swirl Bazzill as the base of this layout. I used another Vicki Boutin stencil from the same set, this one has a daisy design on it. I worked these on the left of the page using Distress Inks, first I used Old Paper, then highlighted the flower centres with Fossilized Amber.

I cut two pieces from the P13 #03 paper, one 12cm x 24cm floral side up and the other 6cm x 19 cm, map side up. The edges were distressed and inked. They were positioned side by side on the right of the page.  The photo was mounted in the centre of these pieces.

I arranged the three frames from the kit down the side left side of the photo. With a leaf frond die from the Tim Holtz Bloom Colourize set, I cut leaves from the Twig, Whirlpool and Beeswax Bazzill. these were arranged on the page together with the daisy from the kit.

I used one of the gold acetate phrases from the kit as my title. Finally, I added a lace butterfly from my own stash.

That's all for today, I'll be back with more from this kit soon.
Thanks for looking.

Pretty Little Studio - You Are My Sunshine - Happy Dog

Hello,

It's Claire here today sharing a new layout with the You Are My Sunshine collection from Pretty Little Studio. Check out the collection in full here

For this layout, I'm focusing on those gorgeous scallops from the Be Cheerful paper.

I fussy cut each strip in varying lengths and then chose 8 to use on my page, focusing on the solid colours rather than the bold patterned strips.

I layered these vertically, laying the scallops back to back. I only adhered the straight edge of each strip with glue, meaning I could lightly ruffle the edges to lift the scalloped edge off the page, creating dimension.

Next I mounted my photos on a piece of green card from the Matchmaker Pack. I raised the photos on foam, offsetting them against the scallops.

To embellish, I reached for the stars from the Under the Stars die cuts and scattered these around my photo.

Then, to turn this from a bright summery layout into a warm autumnal layout, I grabbed some leaf dies and cut some leaves from the cardstock in the Matchmaker pack, which matches the colours in the collection perfectly.

I inked the edges of the leaves for extra interest and mixed this in amongst the stars.

To create the title, I grabbed some alphas from my stash and positioned the title along the vertical edge of the scallop.

As a final touch, I added some phrases from the Pet Lovers Word Stickers.

I hope you've enjoyed this blog and have been inspired to create.

Until next month, happy scrapping!

Claire xx

Carta Bella ~ Sunflower Summer 🌻

Hi everyone, it’s Anna back with you today and for the month of September I’ll be working with Carta Bella Sunflower Summer.
You can find it in the shop here.
This is a collection that’s been out for a few months now, but it’s perfect for documenting all of those sunflower field photos from over the summer. So with having visited a couple of sunflower fields this summer myself, it was a great time for me to revisit this collection!

For my first layout with this collection I began with a white Bazzill background. I trimmed ‘Busy Bees’ in half and adhered one half to my cardstock vertically.

I then selected my photos - with so many pictures from each visit, I wanted to create a multi photo layout. I mounted my four photos in coordinating cardstock and then adhered three to the bottom of the layout and the larger one I placed at the top.

I fussy cut several sunflowers - the larger one was from the 6x4 journaling cards and the smaller ones were the b side of sunflower seed packets. I tucked the large sunflower under the right side of my patterned paper and created a trail with the smaller ones, linking the two groups of photographs together.

I embellished my layout using the Element Stickers.
I created my title using the stickers too, as well as adding in some alpha stickers to make my title ‘Sunshine at the Sunflower Fields’.

Thanks so much for looking!
See you later in the month for a second layout using this collection!
