Pink Paislee's Horizon collection by Paige Evans - 1970s Fashionista

Hello, Karen C here again with my first layout using Pink Paislee's Horizon collection by Paige Evans. This collection is so bright and vibrant and I thought it would be perfect to scrapbook a layout using a photo of me taken in the 1970s on Skegness beach wearing a very colourful beach outfit handmade by my Mum.

The layout is very simple and uses just 2 sheets of paper - paper #3 and #15.

I trimmed roughly 1cm from each edge of the rainbow sunburst paper (#3) and matted this onto a sheet of the white patterned paper (#15) which I had previously gutted. I also cut a piece out of the middle of the rainbow paper (where my photo would go) so I could use this on another layout.

Using 6 strands of matching embroidery thread I chain stitched along the edges of each coloured wedge. This took quite a while to do and to save time I made sure I only stitched the areas which would not be covered by my photo.

Once the stitching was complete I cut a frame from the left over white patterned paper which measured approx 24.5cm square and was 1cm wide. The frame was attached to the layout using 3D foam to raise it up. My 5x7 photo was matted on white cardstock and then attached to the layout again with 3D foam.

Using paper punches I punched a variety of hearts and flowers from matching patterned paper scraps. These were attached to the matching areas of the layout using 3D foam.

Matching sequins were also added.

I added a title onto the side of the photo using Foam Thickers from American Crafts.

Tiny letters stickers from my stash were used to add the date and place name on the bottom of the layout.

I am loving being able to play with this collection and would encourage you to pop along to the shop to see the rest of the collection and I'll be back later in the month with another layout to hopefully inspire you.

Take Care,
Karen x x
