Bella Blvd Splash Zone - 'Pool Vibes' Layout

Hello, Rebecca back again this time with a layout using the Bella Blvd 'Splash Zone' collection. As soon as I saw the papers in this collection I couldn't wait to start using them. They are perfect for my little water baby! I selected two photos of my little boy and I in a paddling pool at Paradise Wildlife Park from last summer. I mounted my photos onto black and then white cardstock to help them pop, and added foam sheets behind them so that they sat away from the page, adding dimension.

For this layout I used white Bazzill cardstock for my background and added diagonally cut strips of the 'Splashing Around' paper to the top and bottom of the page. I positioned my two photos and a section of the 'Daily Details' cut-apart sheet (also mounted on black and white card to make it the same size as my photos) in the centre and marked the edges ready to add some mixed media to my background. It was at this point that I decided I needed to bring some more darker blue to the page as the 'Wet Zone' card had several shades in it, so I decided to add a small amount of dark blue bazzill cardstock to the top and bottom too.

I then used the packaging technique to add some paints and inks to my background. The lighter, more turquoise shade is a distress ink in 'Peacock Feathers', and the darker shade is watercolour paint. I wanted to add enough colour so that it would peep out from behind the photos. I also added some splatters in the same colours.

I finished the background off with some texture paste, coloured with the peacock feathers distress ink through a Creative Expressions Mini Stencil 'Splash' to the areas where I would be adding my embellishment clusters.

I then used the Bella Blvd Ephemera Icons to add clusters to 3 corners of my photos. I used foam dots to stick the top of each ephemera piece to add some dimension to the page.

I finished off the layout by adding some string through the two tags - coloured using a blue shimmerz paint, and also some thread in a similar colour behind some of the ephemera pieces, and finally a few date stamps.

I hope you've enjoyed reading, please take a look at the Bella Blvd 'Splash Zone' in the shop. It's great fun to work with and perfect for the summer!

I'll be back later in the month with another layout made using this wonderful collection.

Take care

Rebecca
