Simple Stories ~ Hello Today #3

Hi! It’s Anna back with you today with the Hello Today collection by Simple Stories! You can find the collection in the shop here.

This is my final layout with this collection and next month I will be back with some Disney Magic for you!

For this layout I’m using up some scraps from my previously used patterned papers. I decided to go with a circles theme and as the layout progressed gradually more and more circles began to appear! To begin with I’d imagined just a cluster in one area of the layout, but now we’ve got a whole page full! Does this happen to anyone else? I hardly ever end up sticking with what I have planned for a layout!

I also had 4 pictures to potentially use to begin with, but as the page progressed with more circles, I planned to cut it down to two pictures. But I still really wanted to use the last two, so I ended up incorporating them into the circles!

I punched out a variety of sized circles using punches. There are a selection in the shop here

I then used a selection of the chipboard and combo stickers to embellish on and around the circles. I also added some stitching to some of the circles and raised some of them on 3D foam pads. I also added a thread tangle and distressed some edges too.

Thanks so much for looking!

See you next month!

Anna

Hello Today from Simple Stories by Adam

Hello! Adam here again sharing another layout using the fab 'Hello Today' from Simple Stories.

For this one, I decided I wanted to maximise the photos on my page which was documenting a trip to the Concorde Experience at Manchester Airport.

I started off by gutting the inside of the 'August' paper and used the B side. I trimmed half a cm off all sides of the 'October' paper and then popped this on top of the other sheet.

Using the 'February', 'September', 'November' and 'May' papers, I made four pockets roughly 4" x 5.25" and adhered these to the page as four 'sections'. I made two additional pockets from the 'December' and 'April' papers - smaller this time, at 2.25" x 3" and popped these in the corners of two of the bigger pockets.

I created four tags for the larger pockets - one made with a teared piece of the 'May' paper, two made with eyelets directly on the photos (with some stickers from the sticker book on the photos) and one is just the boarding pass style tickets from the day with an eyelet and twine.

I used some of the journal spots from the bits and pieces and some more photos for the two smaller pockets and some more twine and eyelets.

I decided I wanted something in between the pockets so popped two lengths of twine from top to bottom and half punched a hole at each end for the twine to sit in.

I loved the chipboard frames that come with this collection - another great addition to the Simple Stories range - I do love frames and love some of the ones in the shop!n So I used two of the frames on the front of two pockets - popping a photo in one and using the other two emphasise the logo from where we were (cut from a photo!). I used some clips from my stash to add interest the page (you can find a good selection of clips in the shop).

I used an array of embellishments from the bits and pieces, adhesive brads, foam stickers, element stickers, sticker book and puffy stickers to embellish the page... in my usual 'more is more' kinda way!

I used some of the numbers from the journal bits and pieces to add the month and year of the photos on two pockets. I used 'Hello' from the foam stickers for my title and added a gold puffy sticker from my stash - similar to these

I finished up with some enamel dots and word stickers here and there - and it was done!

I've still got some more to share from this awesome collection so I'll see you all before the end of February but till then, take care and stay safe! 😀
