The Happiest Place & DIY Cute Paper Clips

Hiya,

Lisa here playing with my new travel journal and the cute collection from Simple Stories - Say Cheese - Happiest Place, which you can see here.

I do also have a YouTube video making this spread which you can see here.

This is the paper that inspired this journal spread.

I had a lot of photos from our Disneyland California trip but I didn't want to overload the page with photos, so I created lots of flips. Lots of places to hide them.

This is when the DIY clips also came in as I needed them to hold things down in place LOL
I had a lot going on.
The clips are so fun. I have 2 on this page.
And I added one to this tag too.
Just using paperclips and a hot glue gun to attach fun things to make the clip.

Here I have a flair button, I also used a button and a fabric embellishment.

These tags are so handy. I've used them a lot for hidden journaling and photos.

The top piece then flips up and there's lots of photos underneath.

And more underneath.

I love all the bits and pieces.

I used these pieces a lot which were so handy.
I created this flip with the Mickey piece.

And then on the other side.

Another flip at the bottom.
You can see more of the clips that I made too here.
4 more : )

And I've used lots of these matching stickers too.

They really make the page.
I love adding extra colours and details.

I hot glued a piece of ribbon to create a bellyband and this held in more photos and journaling.

There is a lot going on here, but I love a busy full journal with lots of colour, so I love it : )

I hope this has inspired you today.
Have fun

Starting A New Travel Journal

Hi Lisa here and I'm about to start this new travel journal.

I turned this old vintage book into a journal last week.

If you'd like to see how I made this, here is the video.

So today is the start.

I loved this contents page from another book so I stuck this in but covered the actual contents with some patterned paper to document the contents of this trip.

Page one, our pre travel day before our big 5 week USA Roadtrip.

I'm using lots of pieces from the Simple Stories - Say Cheese Happiest Place which you can find here.

I love cutting up the die cut papers and combining with the stickers.

You can see these pages being made in this video here:

Little Tip - I add wording to my photos on Instagram Stories and screen shot and then print.

I had lots of photos to include but didn't want to overload the page, so I cleverly used 2 small envelopes overlapped.

Both are used as pockets and the right side flips.

The next day which is our travel day page I used a combo of the same papers and stickers along with some memorabilia that I picked up.

I'm so pleased how these 2 pages came together, a great start to our new travel journal.

Are you documenting any travels this year too?

Have fun.

Lisa xx

Simple Stories ~ Say Cheese Happiest Place #2 🏰

Hi everyone, it’s Anna back again and today I’m sharing my second layout using Simple Stories Say Cheese Happiest Place, which you can find in the shop here

For my second layout I wanted to create a ‘Then and Now’ page. I had some photos that I’d printed from a childhood visit to Walt Disney World and I wanted to create a layout with them alongside some pictures from a more recent visit. I tried to use photos that were of the same thing/place.
I began with ‘Meeting the Mouse’ as my base.

I had a large & sign that I thought would work well in the centre. I then mounted my pictures on to ‘Having a Blast’ and fitted them around the & on the page.

There were already some florals printed on the patterned paper, so I added to the florals that were already there to create a cascade of flowers across the page. I did this by fussy cutting lots of the flowers from ‘Happy Memories’ and arranging them in clusters.

I added a title using some Doodlebug Alpha Stickers with the wording ‘Then +Now’ above and below the ampersand.

To finish my layout, I added some enamel dots and some Nuvo drops to the centres of the flowers.

Thanks for looking!
See you in May!

Simple Stories ~ Say Cheese Happiest Place #1 ✨

Hi everyone, it’s Anna back on the blog today.
For April, I will be working with Simple Stories Say Cheese Happiest Place which you can find in the shop here

For my first layout, I wanted to use a large photo that I’ve been holding on to for a while. It’s a 8x12 photo of a scenic castle view at Walt Disney World, which we are in.

I used ‘Toon Town’ as my base and adhered the photo above centre. I used a boarder punch to punch a strip of red from ‘Having a Blast’ which I placed above and below the photo.

From the same paper, I cut a small circle and then cut the centre too, to create a boarded circle. I distressed the edges and I used this to stick on the photo to highlight us in the large photo!

I added one of the boarder stickers from the Cardstock Sticker Icons to the bottom of the photo, just above the boarder strip. I also added some word stickers and the title - ‘good times’ from the same sheet.

I fussy cut some flowers from ‘Happy Memories’ and stuck them in clusters in the top left and bottom right of the layout. To finish I added a few more floral stickers from the Cardstock Icon Stickers

Thanks so much for looking!
See you later in the month with a second layout using this collection!
