Photoplay ~ Those Summer Days #1

Hi all, its Anna with you today. This month I am working with one of the latest collections from Photoplay. Another bright and summery collection for me - the 'those summer days' range. Take a look at the collection here and for a look at the other latest Photoplay collections click here.

I began by cutting approx. half a sheet of the Sunnies (sunshine side) to fill the top half of a 12x12 bazzil cardstock sheet. But before adhering, I used some Distress Stain and a Sunrise mask to create a sunshine effect.

I then added a strip of Cabana along with some washi tape before adhering two photographs. One is 6x4 with a white boarder and the other I printed as a small square and framed.

At the bottom of the layout, I added a slanted strip of Chilly Pops, along with a pink doily and some of the element stickers.

I also added several of the element stickers around my layout including the title 'summer vibes' along with some enamel dots .

I'll be back later in the month with another summery layout using this collection, see you then!
Thanks for looking!

May Papermaze Kit - Part 2

As promised, Lynn back with more layouts made from the May Papermaze Kit.
I have continued to have fun creating with the papers, card and embellishments provided, and I still have plenty to continue crafting beyond this post.

A quick reminder of the complete kit plus the extra cardstock pack.
My first post shows the kit content as well as the first two layouts and can be found HERE.

For my first layout today I chose a photo of my daughter selecting sweets in a shop in Brighton. The reverse of Simple Stories I Am... Choosing Happiness paper reminding me of the candy striped paper bags.

I started by gutting the Authentique Beginnings Four paper, leaving a frame of 1" all the way around. Then trimmed the pink brickwork side of the Kaisercraft So Amazing paper to 10.5" x 10.2". This was distressed and inked.

I mounted my photo onto a scrap of Whirlpool Bazzill and arranged this onto the page. Then the fun part - making my bunting!

I plaited three strands of pink and white Baker's Twine which I strung across the top of the page. I made flags from t
he reverse of the Choosing Happiness paper and the washi tape (which I left on the acetate). The flags all measure 4cm x 1.5cm. Once these were in place with 3D sticky pads I arranged lots of other goodies. I used the two waxed seals, Dusty Attic Chipboard and paper flowers from the kit. In addition I added a few items from my stash - another paper flower and a few other smaller blossoms, ribbon scraps tied into bows. I also added a couple of butterflies cut from the Choosing Happiness paper.

Finally I added a title cut with a Sizzix die and the reverse of the American Crafts Flower Child paper. Once in place I doodled around the letters with a black pen.

For my second layout, I chose a photo for my daughter and her
fiancé on the day they got the keys to their new home - No.17!

One of the great things about this kit is that it encouraged me to mix colours of cardstock and papers together that I may not have chosen to use, but they worked well together.

For the base of the layout I did some gutting, first using Glow 12" x 12", then the Pinkini 11.75" x 11.75" (left from other pages), Guacamole 11.5" x 11.5". Then a piece of Cream Puff (additional to the kit) cut to 11.25" x 11.25".

Using lots of scraps of papers left over from the previous three layouts and introduced some of both sides of Pink Fresh Studio - Whim paper. I inked the edges of all the cut patterned papers with Distress Inks.
The large piece of Beginnings Four was trimmed to 9.5" x 7".
A strip of 6 butterflies from Choose Happiness paper.
A narrow strip of So Amazing - brickwork paper.
I used a Sizzix die set to cut the doily and lace trim, then I threaded narrow ribbon through the lace trim, which was cut from Flower Child paper.
I made rosettes with a Sizzix Decorative Strip die and both sides of the Whim paper.
The title was cut from a scrap of Whirlpool Bazzill and another Sizzix decorative Strip die.
Using an old stamp from my collection I stamped the journalling block onto Whim paper too.
The photo was matted onto Pinkini Bazzill.
I added one of the wooden bingo tiles and the Prima Lavender tag (changing the ribbon to match that used earlier).
Finally I added the three pearls and the remainder of the washi tape.

I still have enough paper, card and embellishments left over to make another layout or several cards.
I hope the four layouts have inspired you to have a go with the May Papermaze kit. Please contact Vanessa at the shop if you are interested in purchasing one.

Thanks for looking

Crazy Good Times with Simple Stories hello Summer

Hi Tracee with you today, sharing a  fun page using Simple Stories Hello Summer collection. The colours are stunning and so totally up my street.

I love Pina Colada and this picture of me drinking one was a perfect colour match for the papers. I am really into creating my own backgrounds on white cardstock right now and I was inspired by all the circles on the 'Best Day Ever' sheet to drag out my circle punches and recreate my own version.

Crazy Good times tracee provis papermaze simple stories hello summer 03

I cut various circles from both the patterned paper and some matching cardstock, after I had layered them up I used my sewing machine to create a wavy line and hold them all in place.

The reverse of the 'Best Day Ever' sheet has some fun saying on a salmon pink background, so I made sure to include a couple of these at the top. I used the stickers to add some fun words in between the fussy cut clouds and stitching.

My title is a mixture of wood veneer words and a sticker from the combo sticker sheet. I dabbed a very small amount of gesso onto the wood veneer to tone it slightly, I then layered this over the top of the Good vibes sticker and the large pineapple that I fussy cut from the 3 x 4 Elements sheet. Sorry for the quality of the photograph but it was very sunny out and I am so happy to be able to say that!
The Hello Summer collection is exactly that, a great introduction to your Summer scrapping

I hope my page has inspired you to start your summer projects. For this page and all your scrapping needs please head over to the shop

A Flip Through, Finding Inspiration & A Process Video

Hello!! It's a Disney day here today with me Lisa.
I was wanting to use up some of my Echo Park scraps, so I thought I'd have a flip through our 2017 Disney scrapbook for 2 reasons.
1. to see what photos/stories still needed scrapbooking and 2. for some inspiration.

If ever you are stumped and need some inspiration, I find it really helpful looking through my scrapbooks. Seeing some of my favourite LO's and techniques gets me feeling really inspired and gives me ideas. I find it really works.

I ended up creating this 12x12 page using a photo taken from when we met talking Mickey. The Echo Park collection, Wish Upon A Star, is so perfect for this.

Lots of fussy cutting here. A great way to use up leftovers.

I then drew in journal lines and fitted in my journaling this way.

You can watch this page being created on this video here and you can also see the flip through my scrapbook album.
I hope you enjoy.

And remember, if ever you are needing a little inspiration, try flicking back through your scrapbooks. You'll be surprised how much you feel inspired and full of ideas.
Thank you. Lisa xx

A Sweet Summer with Doodlebug

Bright colours always appeal to me, and Doodlebug's Sweet Summer collection is full of them!  I was especially drawn to the Cabana Stripe paper, as I love rainbow colours.  I only used two strips of this though, either side of the layout.

The centre of the layout has a main rectangle of Punch Plaid, then various other small pieces from the collection, and a length of My Love washi tape, (although it's from the So Punny range, the rainbow hearts go so well!)  To frame the photo, I cut the borders from two of the 3x4 cards on the Summer Sprinkles paper, cutting the green one in half to stretch behind the photo.

The die-cuts come from the Chit Chat pack - it's full of speech bubbles, words and phrases - the words Summer in the title comes from it.  For the word 'smiles' I stuck three small tags together and then used Doodlebug's Abigail alphabet stickers.

The letter stickers showing the date are from Webster's Pages, and I finished off the layout with a mixture of glitter sprinkles and Nuvo Crystal drops.

The Sweet Summer collection is ideal for all your summer photos, full of sunny colours, with cocktails, lollies, palm trees and lots of other summer icons - take a look at it all here :)

Wise Words....... Misty Mountains from Kaisercraft.

Hello there it's Anita with you today and I would like to wish you a very happy Bank Holiday Monday !
For my last post of this month I have used some of the delicious Misty Mountains papers from Kaisercraft. This collection is full of soft, delicate pinks, mauves and stronger indigo's and combines a mix of florals, agates, marbled designs and some lovely quotes too!

I decided to scraplift a layout I originally made back in January which you can see here as I wanted to make use of several of the quotes and I really enjoyed making the original one.

I used just 3 of the collection for this layout of myself and our eldest daughter as a baby. I loved all the quotes and felt they would be perfect words of advice to give someone so special. Sheets used were
Divine
Marbled
Light Leaks
I also used a sheet of Blackberry cardstock.
The centre was gutted out from the sheet of Marbled and put the small gutted piece to one side.
The sheet of Light Leaks was trimmed down to 11.5 inch square and then tilted slightly and placed onto the Marbled sheet, I then just trimmed the overhanging areas off.
The photograph was double matted onto Blackberry cardstock and then onto the gutted piece of Marbled.

I also matted a few of the quotes and cut the title from the cardstock using Sizzix Noveau Alphabet.
Using a Distress Stain in Dusty Concord I dabbed some splats in various points on the page. There is a huge variety of colours in the Distress Stain dept in the shop, so many gorgeous colours to choose from! Some of the quotes were stuck flat to the the page and others were raised on foam pads and overlapping each other and the layout was finished with the addition of various sized sequins, some fine cut lilac raffia strands and a crystal heart cabochon.
Here are a few more close ups.

Once again Kaisercraft have created another gorgeous quality range to add to their ever growing collections. For the other new collections by them on the shop site please look here

Wishing you a super Bank Holiday Monday, hope you will find some time for yourself to get crafting!

Warmest wishes
Anita xx
