January Papermaze Kit - Part 2

Hello, Lynn here, back with another pair of layouts using the January Papermaze kit. You can see the first two layouts here. This time I have used photos from my daughter's trip to Paris last summer.

Here is a reminder of the kit.

A Summer Night In Paris

I gutted the Whirlpool Bazzill as a frame for the page, keeping the inside piece for die cutting leaves later.

Using a mixture of translucent Texture Paste and some ultrafine glitter I stencilled the Harlequin pattern in patches onto the Stamperia paper. Once this was dry I cut the paper to about 11.5" x 11.5" and distressed and inked the edges. I made a tear near the bottom on the left. All the inking on this layout was done with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.

With Pinkfresh Studio - Glen paper I cut out the flowers and set them aside for the next layout. Using the leftover paper, I made a mount for the photograph. Then with a swirl die from my collection I cut several small swirls. I cut flowers with the Tim Holtz Alterations Bigz Die - Tattered Florals and the Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzlits Decorative Strip - Tattered Flower Garland from the Quartz Bazzill.
For the title I used the Prima letter stickers from the kit together with and some old Making Memories Rub-ons. The Rub-ons were placed onto a scrap of Eclipse paper and then matted with a piece of Whirlpool Bazzill. The flowers, swirls and leaves were arranged on the page. I placed a piece of doily behind the tear, and made a big bow with the ribbon from the kit, placing this by the tear. I used the rest of the ribbon in small pieces to arrange around the flowers.

Finally I added some large flat-backed self-adhesive pearls in the centre of each flower.

Magical Moment

This time I picked the Avalanche Bazzill as my backdrop. I stamped the daisy trellis (49 & Market Stamps - Gabi's Daisies), twice onto the Bazzill with Versamark Ink and embossed it with white embossing powder. I used diluted Distress Paints to wash over the stamping. The colours I chose to use were:
Picked Raspberry, Work Lipstick, Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Picket Fence.

I mounted my photo onto two mats, both measuring 4" x 6", cut from scraps of Orbit and Eclipse papers. These were attached to the centre of the layout.

The flowers I fussy cut earlier from the Pinkfresh Glen paper, were arranged onto the layout, much as they were on the original sheet. They were stuck in place with 3D foam pads. I made a very dilute colour wash with some more of the Distress paints to tint the white flowers.

The title was made with the stickers and chipboard from the kit. I added a little paint to the chipboard too, white first making sure this went down into the letters. then I added colour on top. I used a gem to cover the final 's' of the word 'Moments'.

Finally I arranged the dew drops from the kit over the page.

I will be back with the february kit later in the month.
Thanks for looking.
